  1. Went opening night, and had a blast!

I'll begin this review with what I did first

And here be some small spoilers, you've been warned!

    Opening Scaremonies:

As it has been for the past 2 years (?), Klownz are here again. The Ringmaster gets the crowd pumped pretty well, and there are ALOT more scareactors this year for the opening. Theres actors in the front by the fire, some by UMR (House of Horrors), and I THINK some by Waterworld (I couldn't really see). The opening got everyone pumped and ready. Only problem I had was that the volume for the intro/ringmaster speaking was not loud enough due to the crowd going crazy hahaha.

9/10, because I do wish it was different but I guess they'll be doing this from now on to have it as a "staple" of HHN:Hollywood.

    The Walking Dead: Dead Inside

It may have been because it was the first maze we went in or because of all the intensity from the opening scaremonies carrying on but this house was the MOST INTENSE OF THE NIGHT! My expectations were very high from the review of EP night and after going on it, it exceeded my expectations! I LOVE ZOMBIES, and believe me, after going in this maze, i felt like a zombie apocalypse would mean death for alot of people haha. I loved many of the scenes especially the Tank scene (nice backdrop!) and the bicycle girl scene. The final scare was amazing and intense. It reminded me of TCM of '08 but of course without the chainsaws. It had me pretty scared. And one of the girls in my group actually ended up crying as this was her first ever HHN event. I'm glad I hit this first because the line was 70 minutes later on in the night but my friend said that he loved this maze so much that he would wait 70 minutes to do it all over again. Best maze of the night, hands down.

    Welcome to Silent Hill

Oh man, did Murdy ever post the twitter password for the mailman? I never got it... there was bad reception down there too. I wasn't able to get the prize :/ This maze had amazing scenes but the scares failed to deliver. Of course I got scared a couple times but it was just less intense. I do wish that there would have been a part where you have to walk in between the nurses (I'm talking about like 7 fake and 3 real ones) and there was a part similar to that but it wasn't "closed-in" if you know what I mean. There was too much space to walk through so it wasn't too creepy like in the movie/games. The nurses were still creepy by their movements. Final scare was meh, nothing happened to me. And the number of pyramidheads was ridiculous, there were probably 5. I loved the scrims though, great distractions. Although it was lacking scares, the scenes blew me away by how creative it was (some of it looks like NOES though)

    Transformers The Ride

Mmmmm I've been on it, but it was next to the exit of Silent Hill so we did it anyways and it was about a 30 minute wait. Ride is still fun if its your first time! Worth a trip since its outside Silent Hill. If you plan on going on this later, it goes up to a 120 minute wait so it would be smart to hit this early on.

TCM: The Saw Is The Law

I had low expectations for this maze since it was made last minute and I am sureeee glad I had low expectations. The maze was very short, but the good thing is that the line was very short. (Good idea to hit Silent Hill before this), it was about a 15 minute wait. The facade looks similar to Alice Cooper's last year so I wasn't impressed with it. The people who said there were problems with the sound would've wished they went opening night because the sound was perfect. Chainsaws sounded real. It did have a problem with one room where it was FILLED WITH FOG. I could not see where I was going and had to feel around for a bit :/ Maybe its supposed to be filled with ALOT of fog but man, it got kind of hard to breathe in there. Need some more air circulation in that room. I wish there was a sheet part like the TCM maze in 08 but of course this was based on the original. The maze was short and very underwhelming but actors tried their best.

    6/10

    The Mummy Ride

As always, short and fun. Wait time was about 15 minutes although it was posted at 30. Not bad.I wish they would have a scareactor as one of The Mummies when you exit the ride though hahaha.

    9/10

    Terror Tram

We ended up skipping Jurassic Park because we didnt want to get soaked, but if you do want to hit it, the wait is 5 minutes. This year's Terror Tram blows the last 2 years out of the water, it was great!! In the queue, you end up watching some scenes of The Walking Dead (more of the "oh shit moments") to pump you up. Once you get on the tram, there's not really a story... well I mean there is but its plot isn't in-depth like the Nightmare tram with Freddy or the Saw tram with Jigsaw. Once you get off, of course, chainsaws as usual. They actually turned off the lights for Whoville which was great and made it look more with the theme. It lacked some scares from Whoville into Bates. Bates motel has some great scares but I guess at the time I went, there were less actors? From there, of course you go on the hill. The campground is about the same, not too many scares there. But zombies can hide pretty well in the bushes just like bushmen. Walking up the hill was tough on me this year, don't know why hahaha. But they added scareactors there that were pretty good. I like how they have certain scenes going on, such as zombies breaking out of a fence, etc. (won't give away too much). And guess what, I SPOTTED TREVLER! I yelled out bansheeman but I guess he didn't hear me so i just yelled out "Trevler!" and he looked at me and followed me for a bit, scaring my girlfriend. The line for photo-op took a while so we skipped it and went straight to WotW set. There are great scares everywhere, thank God there werent any "water squirters" if you know what I mean. Or maybe I was lucky to miss them. Its a different route to the WotW set which makes it more interesting, and as you go back, you end with chainsaws again. Glad we also skipped The Mummy haha.

10/10, best TT in a while!

    Alice Cooper

The line was unbelievably long, an hour wait which isn't TOO bad considering many of the other mazes were an hour and a half. But there was such an annoying group in front of me, they were singing throughout the line and just doing stupid things. I had to deal with them for an hour. Anyways, the 3D glasses are the same, the facade looks great. When you first enter, the 3D really "jumps out", its much more noticeable than HOTC. But as I was walking, it really reminded me of a Knotts maze. The maze was very colorful and not as distorting to your vision as HOTC:3D. I enjoyed some of the scares but they seemed to be lacking intensity. The rooms were very random, as if there wasn't a theme. And a "cold" room (you'll understand when you go), wasn't cold like it should be. I remember in The Thing, they had air conditioner running to make it seem cold in some rooms and so I didn't understand why they couldn't do it for this maze. It doesn't make sense to be in a room thats SUPPOSED to be cold but its just hot and humid in there haha. Some of the scares in last year's Alice Cooper are reused in this year, just slightly different. I loved the "mirror" scare which got me pretty well. The finale is alright, just a giant............. well I said i'd only give small spoilers right?

6.5/10, lacking scares but 3D works really well unlike HOTC where I didn't see that much 3D. Reminded me too much of a Knotts maze.

    Universal Monsters: Remix

First things first, I do like some dubstep songs and this maze had NO WAIT. It was posted at 10 minutes but there was no wait and I went around... 12? Not bad. Once you head in, the lights give the vibe that this maze isn't exactly supposed to be the scariest or most intense. Its supposed to be fun, and that is what I had. Although this maze was closed for a month or so? Not TOO much has been changed, other than a few new spots for scareactors, the lights, and one particular new spot. The scares weren't intense but then again, you're supposed to feel that this maze is supposed to be fun. I think its a hit-or-miss type of maze for some people depending on your mood. Frankenstein's room was interesting, not very scary but just a small, short change of things from scary mazes. There was one particular addition to the "hanging bodies" room which was great, got me pretty good. But yeah, go in here with a "fun" mood and I think you'll like it, just don't expect it to be scary.

    7/10.

    Bill & Ted

We ended up skipping La Llorona because the wait was at 85 minutes and we would miss the last Bill & Ted show if we went. What pissed me off was that the show did not start at 1:35 as was posted, it started really late, around 1:50 to be exact. We were getting tired of waiting. They added TVs in the queue so you could keep yourself busy watching its and bits of previous shows. The show is great, I'll tell you that. It is much more related to the movie so if you've watched it, you'll understand. Some jokes were off, but some were great! I know this is a spoiler but you guys would have expected it, I could NOT stop laughing at Batman and Bane when they couldn't speak clearly (as you can't hear them clearly in the movie) hahahaha. I haven't laughed that much in this show in a while. Of course, Justin Bieber is back with several other stars. The Hunger Games is the main theme in this and thats all I can really spoil other than that THE AVENGERS ARE NOT IN IT. :o Kind of surprising but the show is still great. Better than previous years but not the best. However, its still a great show and a great way to end the night.

    9/10

Thats about it folks, theres one thing I do regret and its skipping the La Llorona maze because I heard it was just as creepy as last year even though its somewhat of a repeat. If you guys aren't into 3D, i'd highly advise going into La Llorona over Alice Cooper. Hope you all liked my review and have fun at Horror Nights!

  2. I normally go T2 Queue first then WWW but since Alice Cooper is gonna be closed for the first hour.

I'd go to The Walking Dead (hopefully get all the scares first) then

Lower Lot into TCM, then Silent Hill.

From there I'd go to Transformers (it WILL be packed later on in the night because it is a brand-new attraction), and then The Mummy and JP:In the Dark (if anyone in my group is up for it)

Then I'd go up, go Terror Tram, grab a snack, probably go into the Simpsons (I sure hope not though, but if my group wants to :/)

After would be Alice Cooper 3D, Remix, and then Bill & Ted.

La Llorona would be after Remix if theres enough time but i doubt it. I don't know but I feel less excited for La Llorona this year, doesn't seem too great

  3. I've been lurking in the shadows for a while... but I've decided to join the discussions hahaha.

In my opinion, I don't think theres gonna be any chainsaws on the TT (even when we get off the tram).

Chainsaws + zombies will not mix well, the crowd would probably be like "wtf?"

I do believe when we get off the tram that there will either be 20-some zombies wandering in front off Whoville or people in HAZMAT suits trying to shower us (like DTH said) (also that means there would be ALOT of water effects).

You guys shouldn't be complaining so much, haven't you noticed that when people complain about something being bad or boring, it turns out to be better than expected? :D

    Remember Saw? F13 v2.0? NOES v2.0?

    It all works out.

Plus you guys don't have to worry about going into the Mummy Tunnel in the end since it won't tie in with the theme :P
