  1. Yep, everything seems crazy convoluted at this point.

If it's "more realistic", as Legacy suggests, then I'm going with something incredibly literal and simple....something like Alcatraz, and the murderers who died there...or tried to escape from there. For example, Al Capone. It would be cool to experience the screwed up inner workings of his mind, no? I could be wrong. I think the Jekyll/Hyde connection was simply so we connected to a specific word, like "London" or "hell". In London, there's a hotel called Alcatraz....where your hotel room is actually a jail cell. Crazy rt? Idk if it's related, but at this point, so much is being thrown around, I just want to get back to the basics.

  2. Okay, assuming the above picture does relate to the Jekyll and Hyde musical, my guess would be we are talking about the song "Murder, Murder". It takes place after the intermission thus after the break. The contraction it's is used five times in the song in the following lines "it's a nightmare!", "it's a right scare!", "it's a curse, man!", "it's perverse, man!", and "it's London's latest craze". The clue says the word after the contraction so given that three out of five have the word a right after it's that would mean it would have to be perverse or London. Not really sure where to go from there.

What if "London" is referring to the London they're constructing for HP? I'm sure they won't be able to actually do something in that area, obviously, but maybe he's referring to a scare zone? I don't know.

  3. Okay, so the contraction for "it is" = it's

These are the occurences of "it's" in song lyrics from the jekyll and hyde musical:

    "It's society's mask / It's society's way" from "Facade"

"...it's all a facade" from "Facade"

"...it's that each man you meet..." from "Facade"

    "it's a nightmare" from "Facade"

"...it's alone i'll see it through" from "Pursue The Truth"

"it's ludicrous" from "Pursue The Truth"

"it's absurd" from "Pursue The Truth"

"before it's too late" from "Emma's Reason"

"it's easy to accept that..." from "Emma's Reason"

"it's you I am concerned for" from "Letting Go"

"And it's true I am" from "No One Knows Who I Am"

"It's such a shame" from "No One Knows Who I Am"

"It's hell that we choose" from "Good 'N' Evil" ---> my money is on this. "Hell" is the next word. I keep going back to the prison being hell...

"Like the night, it's a secret" from "Alive"

"It's the feeling of being alive" from "Alive"

"It's the truth that cannot be denied" from "Alive"

"It's the feeling of being Edward Hyde" from "Alive"

"...it's like when hope dies" from "Your Work and Nothing More"

"it's more than work - he's obsessed!" from "Your Work and Nothing More"

"Before it's too prove/late" from "Your Work and Nothing More"

"Pray that it's all a facade" from "Your Work and Nothing More"

"It's a memory I know" from "Sympathy, Tenderness"

"It's a nightmare" from "Murder, Murder"

"It's a right scare" from "Murder, Murder"

"It's a curse, man!" from "Murder, Murder"

"It's perverse, man!" from "Murder, Murder"

"It's London's latest craze" from "Murder, Murder"

"It's hard to talk away the memories that you prize" from "In His Eyes"

"It's a sin with a name" from "Dangerous Game"

"It's a dangerous game!" from "Dangerous Game"

"You believe that it's true" from "Dangerous Game"

"It's a crime and a shame" from "Dangerous Game"

"Once! Before it's time" from "A New Life"

    "It's over now?" from "Confrontation"

"It's time to die!" from "Confrontation"

"It's a deal with the devil he cannot disclaim" from "I Need To Know"

  4. Flip that switc- I mean, script and you're there.

There's also a movie from the 80's called "Prison" that has a similar plot. Except the guy electrocuted was wrongly accused and I think came back to haunt those who wronged him via electricity...like he would get vengeance that way. I might be mixing this up with something else...idk. But anyway, the idea of electricity is interesting...what if there were a way to make guests "feel" like they were getting electrocuted too?

  5. The IFRIT, Doc's Clues, Doc's tumblr... I confirmed it <_<

But Mystique brilliantly solved the IFRIT clue that pointed to a prison.

Prison stuff was seen out side of sprung 1. TWD is not in the sprung tent.

You're right, you're right. My bad! I also forgot about the props that have been sighted outside of the sprung tent...can we get anyone to confirm if those things are still there? Has anyone been to UNI recently?

  6. I'm trying to figure out where the speculation on two separate (TWD and Original) prison houses began. Can someone enlighten me how we got to that?

Also, with the guesses of Cabin In The Woods & Evil Dead coming up, the idea of duality was a big player as well. Now that you're mentioning it, though, I'm not sure how we got to it...maybe it's completely off and the 8th house is a different kind of original.

  7. Oh, I just had a fun thought. What if the prison house IS a LT house, and they've been jailing up all the old HHN nasties over the last couple years into the prison? Of course, they get loose, and hijinks ensue. That's qualify the needs of the cryptic comment, and wouldn't just be a "prison house."

This was almost EXACTLY what I was thinking as well as I was catching up on this thread!! I love love love this idea.

To give it a little bit of my own spin: It's the Legendary Truth maze. The design is the original prison theme as we've been talking about. However, instead of the imprisoned monsters just being HHN peeps from the past few years, what if they span the last...oh...i don't know...100 years? 100 years of horror....it's the perfect opportunity for them to bring all of it together. Maybe the LT team has found a way to travel through time and capture these creatures and jail them in this prison...but obviously things go horribly wrong and the monsters wreak total havoc...no pun intended.

EDIT: so I guess this is my guess for the Flashback comment. It makes the most sense to me.

  8. Given Dr. J's most recent youtube sum up and the fact that we're missing one correct comment decoding, I (for my own sanity) need to make a few lists....(I don't have OCD, I don't know what you're talking about, leave me alone)...

    Assumed/Proposed/Predicted Houses

    Evil Dead

    The Walking Dead

    American Werewolf in London

    Resident Evil

    Havoc/Dogs of War/Etc.

    Cabin in the Woods

    La Llorona

    Original/Prison House

    Dr. J's Comment Clues

    Balloons

    Kevin

    Surname

    Acostic

    Christine

    Silencio

    Simon

    Flashback

Ok now let's play the match game....(I miss that show)...

Balloons = American Werewolf In London (scene in movie)

Kevin = Cabin In The Woods (name of monster)

Surname = The Walking Dead (J's last name is Walker; walkers = zombies in TWD)

Acostic = Evil Dead (Eraser got replaced; we assume AHS was replaced with ED)

    Christine =

Silencio = La Llorona (use of Spanish language)

    Simon =

Flashback = Havoc (house from HHN 2010)

I'm blanking on "Christine" and "Simon". Am I matching these right to begin with? Which one did we get wrong? Do we really have all the houses figured out?

  9. So here's a thought. We're all assuming that CitW will be a straight up adaptation of the flick, but that's not really the point or the fun of the film. What if, instead of that, the house is all about the OTHER monsters, and we get to see what the film would of been like if they'd been chosen instead? Or maybe we'll get to see the origins of where the monsters came from, in their original environments? That would be a very cool house experience, and add to the film without just being a straight up clip show.

It's my belief that A&D's main goal with the houses/mazes is to immerse you in the movies. This is Universal, afterall, and they tend to concentrate on the specific horror movie content, not on alternate dimensions within the movie's canon, or backstory that isn't explicitly shown in the film. While it would be interesting from a diehard horror fan's perspective to experience other monsters that weren't featured mainly in the movie, I don't think that would go over well, and I don't think Uni would take that kind of risk. If they have an IP that's as recognizable as CiTW, they have a sort of responsibility to that IP to represent it the way they think fans will appreciate and experience it the most and best. I can almost say with complete certainty that, if they were to create a CiTW house as you described, there would be an uproar from the fan community. Part of what makes those IP houses scary is knowing what's coming for you because you've seen the movie...and getting completely immersed in those scary scenes that you saw the main characters stuck in. I'm not saying it's a bad idea, but I don't think they'd make a house like that this year, unless it were an original house entirely, or a spinoff house from the main CiTW house...idk.

  10. New Ifrit clue people!

"Soap, grope, nope I hope you find the time Pope, rope, dope to cope and figure out the rhyme."

My take: Rocky and Bullwinkle, obvi. But the focus is on Bullwinkle instead of Rocky....rocky is blurred out (instagram filtering fanciness). Universal made a film of the TV show...but it wasn't that successful. This honestly brings me back to the "Flashback" cryptic comment from Dr. J.....that show is a complete flashback to my childhood.

EDIT: Just did a little research and found out that the guy who voiced Bullwinkle (Bill Scott) also voiced Dudley Do-Right...and we all know what park THAT ride is in  ...is this suggesting a return to IoA? I don't even know if it's possible at this point...but it seemed to be relevant enough to mention either way.

    As for the rhyming words:

    Soap

    Grope

    Nope

    Hope

    Pope

    Rope

    Dope

    Cope

    • the inclusion of "Grope" and "pope" was rather...comical/interesting/satirical/probably not intended but whatever.
    • The following are the only other words in the English language that rhyme with "soap" (and any of the other words) but were NOT included in ifrit's written clue: lope, mope, scope, slope, tope, trope

  11. I find it hard to believe we have a complete "list" of all the houses. I mean, I expect IPs, but to have a majority of them as IPs? Really? What about the 100 year anniversary of Universal Monsters?? What about their original houses ala Gothic and Dead End? Those are my FAVORITES. I'm not complaining about the IP houses - I grew up with AWIL, and it fascinated me, so I'd LOVE that; I also loved Cabin and Evil Dead (but those have so many similarities.. it's like: PICK ONE). I don't know.. I'm not buying it. Maybe I'll eat these words later, but I simply cannot and will not believe they would not address the 100 year anniversary.

THIS. I am in COMPLETE agreement here. I don't think this list of houses is IT. At all. Something doesn't fit or sound right, and the lack of an anniversary is almost too weird. CiTW is, as I have mentioned in the past, a fantastic way to handle the 100 years of horror idea. But that's just me.

More importantly, can we please talk about Dr. Jimmy's mention of the Rocky Horror rumor?!?!?!?!?!?! SO EXCITED ERMAHGERD.....I would die. Please, HHN gods, PLEASE let Rocky Horror replace the magic shows....

  12. When I heard Simon, I automatically thought of the game "Simon Says".

EDIT: How cool would it be to have a Simon Says game in the streets of HHN...and if you fail, you get chased by scareactors.

Simon Says was the name of a 2006 horror film. While the film apparently sucked total ass (I didn't see it), it did have the "five stereotypical college students on a drunken spring/summer vacation in a remote, horror-drenched locale" storyline. This brings me automatically to either Cabin In The Woods or Evil Dead...both take advantage of the college-students-go-on-a-vacay-that-goes-horribly-wrong motif.

Alternatively, there's also the "Simon" game, from many moons ago, which I played obsessively during my childhood (between that game and Bop It, I could have died happy). It was inspired by the Simon Says game. If you're not familiar with the game (there are apps you can DL that simulate the game), it's a memory game. Something I didn't know and found during research: it was first introduced in 1978 at Studio 54 in NYC. Idk if this has to do with anything, but the fact was interesting.

Simon Hurt was also the name of a supervillain in Batman....but don't get me started on that tangent.

  13. It's not happening but silencio is the silencing charm from Harry Potter. So Death Eater house.... I can only dream

Honestly, while spanish was my first language and I should have jumped to la llorona first....I COMPLETELY jumped to Harry Potter as well! You're not alone in your pipe dreams, my friend...lol

Something else to note...this might not be a spanish reference. Silence is translated "silenzio" in italian.

Also, I think we're all avoiding an important reference....Silent Hill. I know, I know, it hurts to even think about it, considering the house was a bit of a let down last year. But, maybe this is instead pointing towards another video game-inspired house, i.e. Resident Evil, or the like.
