Just curious out of those of you who voted for BS:13 3D would it still be your most anticipated this year if it wasn't in a SS? I think that's a big reason why its getting so many votes. I could be completely wrong tho.
-
Finally another vote for Insidious haha.
-
Least to Most:
UMR: Resurrection: I enjoyed the maze last year for what it was but with Figure involved I'm not crazy excited for this one and I would of liked a new
concept for the house of horrors.
Terror Tram: I always enjoy the Terror Tram regardless of theme and the reasoning this is so low on my list is because its a repeat theme from last year.
Walking Dead: Big fan of the show and comics but seeing another Walking Dead maze just doesn't get my blood flowing like when it was announced last year. Because the maze is on the backlot tho it makes me more excited and hopeful its gonna be fresh and a fun maze.
BS:13 3D: I have listened to Black Sabbath for years and having a maze based on their songs sounds like a great idea and definitely better than having a a returning Alice Cooper for a 3rd year in a row.
El Cucuy: The whole concept and and tone of the maze sounds awesome very very dark and creepy just like La Llarona was. I'm expecting great things from this maze based on how good La Llarona was in both 11' 12'.
Evil Dead: Big Evil Dead fan loved the first 3 movies and really enjoyed the remake and although the originals were high up on my dream maze list this is probably the best were ever gonna get so I will take it. (the remake might make a better maze anyways)
Insidious: This has been on the top of my list for dream houses to come to HHN since I saw the movie on opening night. So of course this is gonna top my list, no other maze announced could have topped Insidious its just not possible for me.
-
El Cucuy sounds cool as a maze but narrated by Danny Trejo doesn't interest me. I will wait to critize it fully until I hear Murdys explanation on twitter about more info on this maze.
-
To correct Greg Nicotero, when Murdy asked him what were his 3 favorite scenes from Season 3 and he listed the "Fat Walker" eating Loris dead body as his second one, then at the end saying those 3 moments were key parts in the graphic novel that we translated into the TV show. For one Lori did not die that way at all in the graphic novel it was completely different so it wasn't a key element. Lori and baby Judy died by being shot down when the Governor and his men invaded the prison and ran Ricks group out.
Sorry watching that video it just bothered me and thought some of you would like to know his mistake. You'd think being the show runner for TWD he would know these things tho.
On a side note regarding the maze and backlot experience im way more excited for TWD returning now than I was before when it was first announced. This is easily the best year yet with the lineup so far.

Since Figure is helping with the soundtrack to UMR:R I can see this being the theme song for the year. How bad ass would it be to hear this at the gates!
Oh gosh please no I can barely listen to that song its so horrible I wouldn't want that blaring at the front gates while i'm waiting to enter. That would not get me pumped at all.
If all his songs are this bad I really am not looking forward to UMR 2.0

Hellraiser 1-4
Dead Silence
Killer Klowns from Outer Space
The Conjuring

Not excited but not dissapointed, I wasnt expecting much out of HOH this year.

I don't think I would say James Wan is a horror genius, that title is given to the Wes Cravens and John Carpenters of the world. I do respect him as a horror director though, I could never do what he does. But calling him a horror genius may be jumping the gun. Then again I never cared for horror movies that came out in my generation such as the Saws (other than the first). Always been a fan of the classics so I guess I hold all horror movies that come out to those standards, which IMO probably won't be reached.
Personally for me he is a genius based off the way he can scare you which doesn't happen from any other horror movies nowadays for me.
You have to remember Wan only directed the first Saw he didn't do the whole franchise. And Sinister didn't scare me in the least so we just like different styles of horror movies which is fine.
-
True though I remember when horror films were the main attraction of any movie theater. Well those were the 80's Now what do people rather see a great new innovative creative horror film or a sequel to the avengers? I remember watching TCM the begging in theaters crapping my pants in theaters. I remember when Insidious came out and it was awhile since I'd gotten scared and my friends keep bugging me about seeing it though since the dawn of time I hated the overrated paranormal films. This movie to my eyes was crap! I didn't liked it nor it scared me. It was creative an all but I feel it was hyped too much. And that my fellow HHNers is how cinema has died. Great films being barely even teased (Exp. TrT) and then you have insidious, the last exorcism, TC3D etc. that all sucked but were promoted and teased about soo much that it gets me sick soo much to go watch the scariest film of the year and it falls flat. I myself am very picky about horror movies. If your gonna tease that movie soo much it better be worth everything being said about it (exp. The Conjuring, Evil Dead) Anywho long story cut short Insidious sucks
THE END
Please don't compare Texas Chainsaw: 3D and The Last Exorcism to Insidious.
James Wan is a horror genius and his horror movies to me are a breath of fresh air amongst the rest of the horror crap released in theaters nowadays. People like you just bash the movie because the main demon looks like Darth Maul.
I hope you know that the guy who directed Insidious also directed The Conjuring, Dead Silence, and Saw 1. All movies I thoroughly enjoyed.

I forgot about the seance room. What attic scene are you talking about? The only one I remember is where the kid falls off the ladder
And also I want to point out that I think this maze can be very good, I just can't really "see" it if that makes any sense.
The Seance scene will surely be in the maze with Elise wearing her Gas Mask and Specs and Tucker writing down what she is saying.
I would hold judgement on this maze lacking depth until you see Insidious Chapter 2.
Also im sure hes talking about the Attic scene when Patrick Wilson's character has to go into the Further to find Dalton and hes in the attic and he finds the red door and he is confronted by the leather jacket/long haired fiend before he can enter.
-
There is plenty of characters to use that don't even include the family.
Red Face Demon
The Old Woman in Black Veil
The Doll Girls
The Smiling Family
The Whistling Ghost Dad
The Man in the Leather Jacket/Long Haired Demon
The Top Hat Guy
The Psychic and her Helpers (Specs and Tucker)
So that's a lot right there if they just use the 1st movie and if they connect the first and the second they could add even more in and it wouldn't spoil anything because Insidious Chapter 2 comes out Sep 13.

We officially have a better event than Orlando this year in my opinion. Insidious has been #1 on my wishful thinking list for houses to come to Horror Nights since I saw the movie on opening night back in 2011. And finally 3 events later it comes and I can't wait!!!!
I would take Insidious over any house Orlando has that we don't (CITW, RE, AWIL)
If our lineup was the following I think this year would be the best year by a long mile. This is a mix of all the houses I would take from both events.
Insidious
Evil Dead
Cabin in the Woods
Resident Evil
American Werewolf in London
BS: 13

Friday The 13th - Jason Lives Part VI
Halloween - Original
A Nightmare On Elm Street - New Nightmare
Saw - Saw I
Scream - Original
Evil Dead - Evil Dead II
Alien - Aliens
Predator - Original
Hellraiser - Hellbound: Hellraiser 2
Child's Play - Original
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - Original
Paranormal Activity - Original
Jaws: Original
Paranormal Activity - Original
The Exorcist - Original
-
That video did get me kinda pumped for the maze even tho I would of loved to have something like AWIL or CITW more. It's probably going to be based on all the songs with Ozzy as vocals but id love to see some Heaven and Hell in the maze. R.I.P. Dio
EDIT:
Now that Ive had more time to soak this in and read Murdy's tweets describing the maze im super pumped for it and I think it could be a potential maze of the year for alot of people (including me if Insidious isnt announced). So happy Cooper is gone and we got the true masters of metal Black Sabbath.
- 2
-
At least if its gonna be a music inspired maze I'm happy its Sabbath and not Manson, no offense Mr. HHN.
-
we can basically say insidious is confirmed lol?
As much as I want it to be true I wont believe it until they confirm it.
-
Is this picture for "Trickster"?
Someone on FB said it was for "Rock Icon" but I dont think theyre correct.
-
Too many lousy sequels. Meaning anything after the first one. The series currently lives in DTV purgatory so he isn't interested.
Hey now Hellbound was the best of the series and Hell on Earth and Bloodline were good as well. But anything after the first 4 were crap.
-
So why does Murdy just refuse to do Hellraiser has anyone asked him? There is soo much you can use in 1-4 without even touching the direct to video releases. You could literally fill the maze with all the different cenobites from the first 4 movies.
Youd think Pinhead would of made an appearance at HHN after seeing Michael,Jason,Freddy,Leatherface,Chucky,Ghostface. Hes really the only big name horror villian left.
I really dont want them to wait for Hellraiser to be remade to do a maze because then the maze would be about the remake like Evil Dead is and not the originals.

They are pretty dumb.
And anyway it probably is Alice Cooper. They stated that no one has GUESSED THE MAZE yet. He's probably being specific. Alice Cooper: The Last Temptation or some kind of Alice Cooper into the mix with something,
Ill be surprised if AC is the theme for House of Horrors. "House of Horrors: Alice Cooper Meets Universal Monsters"
I just can't see him not coming this year.
That'd be a good way to end Alice Cooper at Horror Nights once and for all just toss him in the House of Horrors.
-
Since this seems like the final time were gonna see the Walking Dead I wish the TV show was already caught up to the comics so we can see Negan and The Saviors make an appearance in a maze. If you think The Governer is a great villian the stuff he does pales in comparison to Negan.
*Spoilers below: Character deaths relating to the TV series*
I would love to see a scene where Negan is standing above Glenns body and smashing his brains in with his bat wrapped in barbwire.
The Hunters eating Dale alive could make a cool scene. (Dale survived past the Prison in the comics)
And for a facade you could use Negan's factory surrounded by barbed wire fences and spikes with walkers stuck on them.

Since there is only 3 codenames left does that mean there will only be 6 houses this year? Assuming House of Horrors isn't a codename correct?
Also if Insidious is coming which it seems strong at this point would it have to be "Rock Icon"?
"Pumpkin" or "Trickster" doesn't match based on the rest of the hints.
-
Pretty likely newbie.
Kid you haven't even been to the event.... Enough said.
I mostly lurk here anyways, if I actually lived in So Cal I might be more active on this forum.

HHN Hollywood 2013 Scareactor Loctions

On the note of males playing female roles I wonder if they casted any men to play the Old Woman in Insdious. Since the Old Woman in the movie was played by a male. No scareactors in Insdious are on this forum it seems so I guess we wont know until the event begins.
