About the Victorian house, poltergeist has been thrown around in reference but what about amityville? seems to make a better connection to me.
-
Yeah, that would make sense . . . digging up something from the past, supernatural
-
What if he gets the new nightmare treatment and is more eviler/sinister?
Yes, I know that "eviler" isn't a real word

Ok, I'm willing to get my hopes up again over the possibility of an icon again since I can see what you guys are saying about the similarities of fear's reveal . . . is it me, or is that a bandage on the index finger of the hand emerging from the ground? a vampire probably wouldn't need one of those, but could still be something supernatural. A demon of some kind would be cool.
It has been really fun talking about this stuff with everyone here, I'm glad I joined

White substance could be stay pufft marshmallow man!

That does sound like a reference to "the stuff", and it falls into the not-of-this-world category . . . but kind of a strange choice by uni if true

Maybe it was the time capsule under nickelodeon, lol
I do like the thought of darkness or fear making a return. They both served a similar function in their respective years, but they weren't really fleshed out as characters as much as the major icons.
But I also immediately thought of Halloween and Michael Myers with the "it's time He came home" comment. Did universal get the rights to the franchise?

I'd love to see a mad scientist icon at some point, or something like dr. Phibes . . . or maybe a hero instead of a villain, like a van helsing or kolchak
but as much as I love icons, I still enjoy the event without one. Even without a cohesive theme it's still a blast.
I guess what I'm really saying is that I don't expect an icon or main theme at this point, so I better get ready to like this year for what it has rather than be disappointed about what it doesn't.

How about chili, lol

What about graveyard, forest, sawyer house, then gas station . . . it would be cool if they had leatherface doing the chainsaw dance as you exit, maybe do a silhouette effect

Spy glasses with a camera in the frames!

Thanks for the tip!

I would absolutely love to go through this house, but I'm in orlando. hopefully there will be some decent recordings or at least photos of it.

Oh, I know I know! You're going to be able to pay to get buried alive!
-
I didn't even get a chance to help try solving that one, lol. But maybe there is even more to it. Those are all photographic portraits of famous deceased personalities . . . film exposures of dead people

interestingly, lizz says that heather struck a chord, and the clue had musical implications: motive, a-key (key of A? Even if we now know the key was the image of heather's post revealing the post-it note code). I know, I know . . . reaching.
Well, there might not be any official website games, but at least we have our own ARG here

Maybe the periodic table and notes are from a lab, a mad scientist's lab to be precise. Could be something to the jekyll and Hyde theory.

The abbreviations of the elements listed almost spell silent hill

Yeah, that theme could apply to a lot already confirmed

Well, the icon is usually featured in a house, and I doubt it would be any of the IP houses. So that leaves us with Victorian house, gargoyles, and classic monsters (none of which have been officially announced). But what could tie everything together, even if it's just a theme? I'd love to see beetlejuice as an icon someday, but the character isn't relevant enough now. Maybe they could play a nightmare angle and do a take on a Mr. Sandman character. I doubt the general public remembers "frightmares" from the 90s, and there was no icon for that unless you count the little eye demon.

I don't think this has been brought up yet, but in regards to poltergeist being a possibility for the Victorian house I don't think it matches up because in the film the home was newly constructed. Remember that the haunting was due to the house being built over what used to be a cemetery? "Victorian house" is pretty specific as opposed to just "haunted house".
-
The dummy/doll has to be related to the Victorian house, no doubt. I just wonder if there will be any recognizable tie-in to it. "Legendary truth" is the obvious choice, "American horror story" is a possibility, and "the woman in black" is kind of a remote chance. Of course it could be entirely fresh, maybe it actually takes place during the Victorian era and involves the occult.

The song that used to be in the background of the teaser page was a song called "Building the Carnival" that was originally written for Halloween Horror Nights 17 by Midnight Syndicate but has never been released. i do however have a copy of it if anyone really wants it. The thunder effects were added later and on a seperate track.
D~
Uh . . . yeah! Upload it!

Gothic? That's the city batman stays at!
Seriously though, I also think that's a code name or at the very least only a part of the full title.
