  1. The parade building house is currently the only house we know NOTHING ABOUT...maybe we see something REALLY SPECIAL there. Maybe we see a crap house...IDK But based on the building's history, probably something special....I love that building for HHN, Isn't it similar in design to the carnage warehouse?

  2. The facade will probably be exactly the same, but I'm hoping on some new scenes or maybe some BETTER scenes for some songs...namely "Bite your face off" That just looked sparse...maybe a little more attention to detail in EVERY ROOM. Make each room a SEPARATE, tiny haunted house, as opposed to separate rooms...maybe only 3-4 songs to make each seem more important and you can do more with each so your not pigeon-holed. Can't wait to see how it differs from HHN hollywood

  3. Even IF "photograph" was actually approved, which we don't know that it is. It would NOT be a sequel to Dead Exposure.

1- DE was tied into the Bloody Mary backstory.

2- DE was a zombie house.

3- If we even get "photograph", it would be more like a few past HHN houses of the 90s in the style of 2008's DE.

I think maybe you didn't read my post correct;ly...its was speculation, and if you recall i stated maybe a house like MyX at HOS but with zombies or w/e...A sequel doesn't have to follow the EXACT SAME STORY, they could change it for HHN 22...I don't think you give A&D enough credit. Just because its a sequel to DE doesn't make it necessarily the same story...Know what I mean...I don't want to piss ne one off but Thats my opinion...just a thought, I don't work at USO...lol...obviously...but That's just my idea. It would work with AC being right there....not trying rock the boat...*napoleon dynamite voice*...GEEZ. Carry on.

  4. Don't go booking because of that. Honestly I don't know if it's even anything. It could be something, it could be nothing. I'm just putting the info that I found out there.

Had to book any way because of the cost of late booking flights. This just gave me a reason to do it RIGHT NOW...lol...dont feel guilty of feeding me false info...i absolve you of all guilt if they aren't there when I go. :)

  5. Any news on the parade building house...have we a theme, or idea of concept(aside from "Photograph house") may be dead exposer sequel? It fits with TWD and P&T and AC, if you play rock music in the line or something...maybe a rockstars last hours during the same day as before? Just spitballing.

I know HOS did the MyX house but i don't think this even comes close to a copy and paste like A&D are NOT GOING TO DO! maybe same kinda idea tho

  6. They specifically said in the announcement video that "for the first time ever, they'll be bringing to life the videogame Silent Hill"... They would've promoted the house completely differently if it was for the new movie instead of the videogame. They even show footage from the game in the announcement video. Besides Universal knows that the fans have been asking for it the game to become a house for years.

Not sure how you can consider this year being used for "ads"... since Alice Cooper or P&T are actually being "promoted" in any way to sell some type of product. Sure SH could be seen as a way to promote the new movie sequel, but there is no "coming soon to theaters October 26th" with SH's description/video on the site.

The only thing that is using HHN as "advertisement" is TWD... They're blatantly promoting the show for season 3.

Silent hill is a game...it's also a movie franchise...They could say the same for resident evil but we all know what we'd see with that. I'm not saying NO VIDEO GAME SCENES, i just have a hunch we may be let down if that's what your going for...sorry for the confusion. There WILL BE VIDEO GAME ASPECTS TO THE HOUSE, BUT we all know Uni does movies, it's what they've always done. Plus the movies are FAR EASIER for the casual fan to watch and learn the story. Yes they are bringing the "video game world" to life, but i think the house will focus on the movies.

my "ad space comment" was focused more on the website i'm sorry i didn't clarify.

  7. I'm afraid that little to no video game aspects will make it into this house...With the upcoming release of the new SH movie we may see ALOT from this film...i'm not being negative, Im just afraid HHN is being used for ad space this year....

  8. ^thank you dr. jimmy. apocalypse isn't necessarily bad. The actual dictionary definition really surprises some people. But perhaps what is revealed is THE WALKING DEAD...OMG I'm sorry but am I the only one who thinks that Universal telling us that the theme of this years event is TWD is a little lazy...perhaps not, maybe they'll incorporate it nicely, but its hard to see now.

  9. WHAT...if P&T were pitched last year everyone would have lost their collective minds with happiness. The thought of people being judgmental of a house before your go in is a slippery slope. If P&T is a let down, BEFORE YOU GO TO THE EVENT, then SH and TWD and AC will probably suck too right?!?! what a terrible attitude to have...IMO

  10. ^yeah MIB wall, I believe that's where they've had all the other videos for houses in that tent. I really think everyone might be underestimating what this house has in store for us. P&T WILL NOT allow HHN to have a house, unless they themselves deem it acceptable. If you saw the video then you would see the level of detail is immense, even with the TINY look we got into the house. P&T I predict, will be not only a sleeper house, but house of the year...Pretty bold, but I believe P&T won't make a liar out of me.

Teller also took a pic in the SS area under RRRHR so maybe a hint of where they are shooting the queue video.

  11. This has the potential to be the BEST DARK HUMOR HOUSE HHN has ever put at the event; and knowing P&T they WEILL NOT allow the house to not have illusion in it that they have designed....The finale of the house, i believe, will be the P&T theater and maybe get some look-alikes in that house...who knows on select nights P&T might be IN THE HOUSE...i guess we won't know until we go.

  12. I think I have to respectfully disagree with you on this, Wesker. While I agree that the event is there to entertain, that entertainment is done through fear and scares, which results in "fun." Those aren't secondary objectives. As you mentioned, just because you don't find a particular house scary, it doesn't mean other people don't either. That's the beauty of this event. Every year they let you pick your poison, so to speak.

There are certain physiological reactions that pretty much everyone has to surprise stimuli, whether you're aware of it or not. Sure there are non-scary parts of the event, but that's needed to make the scares more effective. Constant "terror" will cause the victim to eventually deaden to it. It's why horror films aren't constantly throwing scares at you every 30 seconds. The body needs time to come down from the scare to fully feel the next one.

That being said, it's not the Disney Halloween event. There's a reason why we don't get all dark comedy houses in a single event. There are still scare zones and haunted houses that utilize boo holes, scare actors, and other devious devices to get your blood curdling. And that release of adrenaline in a safe environment is what gets people having a good time. It's why thrill parks exist in the first place. If Universal was interested in just throwing a big Halloween party, there are less dramatic, and less expensive, ways to go about it.

MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY...thank you boogeyman i couldn't say it better myself. Haunted houses are not "party central" kind of experiences...minus a few exceptions...I believe Wesker is way off base on the Halloween party comment...Maybe it was a party in '91...but its evolved to much more then that

    So.....Silent hill...Finale of the house?

  13. Common misconception about HHN... it has never really been about the scares. The event at its core is one big halloween party. It always has been & always will be. Its main objective is to entertain. Scares come second because not everyone is going to find the same thing scary. Just because it has "fright" or "horror" in the name, doesn't mean it is required to provide such. Over the years it has expanded to provide more "chills than thrills" (depending on the year), but again, since people differ, the event will always cater to "fun".

If you see at the end of my post i wrote "I want SCARES" Me, thats what I go to the event for...I wasn't trying to brand the event, or start a debate. I just go to go through the houses and get a good Halloween fright. Oh...Okay I also go to drink, you caught me. :D Just stating my 2 cents, wasn't trying to be controversial.

  14. ^weekdays, 4am on DisneyXD ;)

In regards to "Photograph", the house was never started/partially built. It was to be a replacement for AWIL, but was replaced by SH which had to be fast-tracked. But yes... if it indeed has become reality, UPT facade would be epic.

Nothing will be known about scarezones until later this month when whatever scarezone themeing they do appears. Other than that, don't expect SZ info until the full website reveal & then whatever details leak out from rehearsals next month.

First of all, the original Scareapy was in 2003.

Secondly, 2006's Scareapy was the best Scareapy out of the 4. How you thought it was an insult to the cast (some of who had worked the original)/designers (you do realize that the same people who designed the original, designed all 3 sequel houses?) The house finally got a proper facade. And it had one of the most successful (yet simple) effects- a blackout every 15 minutes. You'd hear Jack's "pop goes the weasel" song and then the entire asylum would "power down" into blackness which would send the scareactors into a frenzy. If you were lucky enough to witness the blackout when entering the soundstage, you'd see that the lighted windows of the facade also went out. 2006's house had the balance of scares & comedy. Something 2007 & 2010's Scareapy lacked.

your right about 2003 sorry bad memory...but i disagree w/you as concerns to scarepy 2006...yes the black out was cool but as i experienced it there were NO scare AT ALL I went to the event MANY times and not 1...the original was f'in SCARY...not so much funny...it's called Halloween HORROR nights, Not open mic night...I want SCARES. The original scarepy Was better, IMO,then ALL THE SEQUELS. And I know the majority of the designers and actors are the same year to year, but i think to compare the HHN 2003 cast and design team To 2006, is like comparing the '72 dolphins and the 2004 dolphins...technically the same team..............

  15. Well I'd really like to hear what everyone has to say about the "victorian" house...Maybe we could be seeing something we've seen before?...I hope we don't get another scream house. Don't get me wrong i thought they we're all great, I just don't want to see that damn repeat house stuff anymore...Lesser events do that crap. HHn should not have to repeat a house EVER. I know this is a radical statement, but has the repeat house ever been able to live up to expectations? Take scrarepy for example in 2004. One of the best houses EVER. I believe the next time we saw scrarepy was in 2006. Don't get me wrong, The house wasn't BAD; but to compare it to the original by giving it the same name and basic story(plus jack), was, in my opinion, Insulting to the wonderful cast and designers that worked on the original. I know WHY HHN repeats houses I just hope we will never see that again.

I just realized that i got off topic. So minus a scream house repeat...which is unlikely, what does everyone think that this could be?

  16. I don't think spending money on scare actors would do NOTHING. A haunted house is a show...if you have more rehearsals for said show, you and the rest of the cast knows the story very well, if not then the translation of that story fails. I'm not suggesting that the actors come in and get their training done more intensely. I know the price of keeping the actors on is enormous, but I personally believe that the show should be PERFECTED before the event opens...not after, I guess I'm an idealist...but the event won't suffer anyway. This year will be great and all this board talk is really just to kill time...can I get an Amen?

  17. Well then, I have a question regarding this. Since there are seven houses instead of eight, does that money go Anywhere in the event? Of course people say that they want to use as little money as possible, but i still can't see Universal not applying this somewhere else. i was told not to expect anything more extravagant in scare zones sets or houses, so does that money go to waste?

Does anyone know how much a house costs? Just to see how much money would be lost versus the amount of income for a house? I just want to see why they wouldn't use the money somewhere else...

the cost of haunted houses varies. dead exp. in 2008 was probably cheap...and it rocked!!!! But THE THING last year, looked pretty pricey and i personally thought the house wasn't so good. So in essence, the price of the house doesn't really matter. The only thing that matters is if you have a good, energetic, and dedicated staff...if anything, the extra $ USO isn't spending on an 8th house, can be spent on more scare actors. Perhaps they will spend a little more on training the scare actors. Everyone's looking for whole park scare zone because USO isn't going to build 8 houses...that seems silly. Can't the money be spent (like i said) on training better scare actors and maybe some better crowd control. Not every $ A&D has, has to be used in a house or zone...think outside the box.

  18. Despite what people think... Eddie DID NOT get a house in 2006. A fat guy in what looks like a store-bought costume for HHN does not make it the character. (I'm sure the 2004 HNN version was crap too). Cindy was the original icon for 2010, but was scrapped once again at last minute.

Both of those icons had more presence than Bloodengutz. Especially since they were known well before they made their physical appearance in 2010, however Cindy made hers in 2009 at the end of the event.

The Storyteller was also created by marketing, which is why she was always different. She technically should not have ever existed.

Yeah watch dr. jimmy's youtube videos for a history lesson. The terra queen was designed and pitched as the icon for 2005

    NOW...back to speculation...
