  1. Next Sunday(Meaning the 19th) at 3pm eastern time tune into Penn's sunday school at pennsundayschool.com...he said, at the end of yesterday's show, that he was going to try to get the okay from UNI to talk about the house, IN DETAIL. Great show anyway, but a few more listeners couldn't hurt. So...if you like spoilers tune in Sunday the 19th and hear it straight from the horses mouth. No guarantees because UNI must approve.

  2. Because in the end.... the higher-ups have the final say. So while marketing/higher-ups initially wanted the extreme house, they chickened out and scrapped it before it was completed. A&D has no control over these decisions.

Thats really sad, I HATE to see projects unfinished. I suppose if your boss says no, or you run into some technical glitches, it would make this idea more trouble then it's worth...Still a great idea though.

  3. And the fact that there are plenty of fans who absolutely love the show and having a house based on it is kick ass idea :-)

SH may not be a blantant advertisement, but with a new game coming out...come on, there's a tie in right there. Alice Cooper, no tie in needed, it just Alice Cooper, people will want to see that house because of who he is. P&T, again, not a blantant advertisement...but the house is based in Vegas and they just happen to playing the Rio.

HHN 22 "ADttack" Overall theme...fear of website ads. Popups will chase us around the park and each house will have a "sign up process" where you give vital information and NOT KNOW who or what will use that information. lol

Awesome shirt...pyramid head gave me nightmares as a child *shiver* I may only get a glimpse of him in the house..lol
  4. the first Thing I mentioned was a stage, that they will appear in a stage, and have props at hand to scare people with the props, or something like that

Yes you did I was simply stating that THAT idea was probably more likely then having them actually scaring in the house. Who know we may get an abbreviated HHN show on the Animal actors stage...we don't know, like I said...Shrewd move Universal :)

  5. ^iI think it's more likely we get a stage or something, that they will be on. I would assume that UNI understands what a commotion it would cause to have such people in that situation. IMO I don't think UNI would risk putting P&T in a vulnerable situation. IDK tho Penn LOVES people and would like to interact more intimately. I guess we'll only know if we go. ;) Shrewd move Universal.

  6. They have been performing since they were in High School and Teller was still a professor. They got plenty of experience under their belt, I'm pretty certain a few drunken hecklers won't bother them much. Plus Penn is a beast, nuff said.

Go ahead and try to be a drunk idiot around Penn Jillette....He WILL make you want to die. Wit alone will allow him and teller to handle this no problem.

  7. Ok, I'm going to admit something here with a bit of embarrassment: I know almost nothing about TWD other than two things. The first thing is that it involves zombies (...obvious thing is obvious), but the second thing is the thing of importance: that it has REALLY FREAKING AWESOME MAKEUP/SFX.

That's something I really hope we see replicated here.

If you haven't seen TWD season 1 is available streaming on netflix...not season 2 tho, but it will give you a good idea. Speaking of TWD I wonder if the CDC building, or at least that BIG room with the giant screen, could make an appearance, great set on TV, would love to see this recreated.

  8. The reason why they have the midway games in the front of the park infront of the queue line that is placed in the Rockit Plaza is so that way it keeps people within the more spacious area (of course we also had the Amity midway games already in the back of park).

Moving them back by Simpsons isn't an option because there really isn't enough room for them in that area. On top of this, UNI is already hard at work installing permanent midway games to the front of the Simpsons ride facade. They have cleared out the extended queue, done some ground work and removed the fake midway game facades. They will be able to add at least 8 new midway games to the Simpsons to make up for the loss of the Amity midway games.

So the midway game placement during HHN is just to suck money out of people from both sides of the park. Remember, making money is more important to them than having to pay 15+ scareactors (per cast) just so we can have another scarezone...

totally agree, Uni is ALWAYS more interested in MAKING MONEY then SPENDING MONEY. Not to say Uni is cheap, but wouldn't you rather make $1 then spend $.50? Same concept. It's unfortunate but midway games are FAR more important to UNI then making US happy with one more scare zone.

  9. well... while it wasn't "listed" on the event map, 2008 had the Zombies Drill Team in that area infront of the MIB giftshop. But as far as doing a SZ with some type of set design, it would be a little tough. The only reason i say this is due to:

    - P&T house queue entrance

    - Sprung Tent exit

    - 2 side-by-side Bars

    - snack/drink stand

    - MIB giftshop exit

    - smoking area

So while you could theoretically create some type of themed SZ within World Expo (the MIB portion), it would probably end up being a complete clusterf*ck. I would love to see an alien/futuristic themed SZ by MIB one day, but I would have to say that we will most likely only get a "themed group" of scareactors in the area like we did with 2008's zombies.

That sux, That area of the park, IMO, is always DEAD. The drill team was, in fact, there in '08, but it never seemed to be enough. I would, as you said, Love to see a really cool "MIB gone wrong" SZ like they did with JP in 2002. But the logistics of that seem far to complex for HHN to handle right now.

  10. ^he wasn't being rude he was being informative. If you didn't read the post correctly, don't blame others for your oversight.

If B79 is currently being worked on, has anyone gone to the park to see if maybe we could get a glimpse of what may be going in and out of that location? With little time left(comparatively) they are going to have to move double time. I'd love to hear if anyone has seen ANYTHING going into that area of the park that looks "suspicious"?

  11. Do we have any clue at all why this house was scrapped at the last minute, it seems to me that if you took all the time and expense to build the attraction, why would you not just see it to completion?

  12. ^that may be the most exciting news of all...we usually have a good idea of what the houses are going to be by this time, but we know nothing of at least 2 houses, other then a "clue word" Maybe we will be getting some serious surprises this year.

I know this may be absurd, but does any one think that since HOS has ALONE, that the parade building may be the home of the long rumored HHN extreme house? I know this may sound funny, but if it were true, don't you think it would be the last house announced, with little or misinformation leading up to it's reveal? Just a thought I had, most likely not tho huh?

  13. Would they be able to use flyers (such as the flying vampires) in the parade building?

Good question...IDK, it looks tall enough for flyers but I'm not sure of the space needed for the mechanism, the SS are a hell of a lot taller then the parade building...but HHn is a wonderful event, and they have some really smart people in charge, so if they deem flyers necessary, then flyers we will have.

  14. ^because Universal's first horror movie was released in 1913...see a whole 100 years of fear HHN, 100 years later...and the icon...the first movie's star, Jekyll/Hyde...it's actually only the 99th anniversary this year.

  15. My post sought to cover three points:

    1. It was difficult to understand what you were speculating on. (Thank you for clarifying)

    2. Thematic sequel (In helping you support your own argument)

    3. My speculation on your idea of a sequel most likely being incorrect.

My coming across as a jerk was unwarranted, but also unintended. Would it help if I put a :P after every sentence? :P

As for speculation, what monsters/characters do we think will be featured in "photograph", if the theme relates to the 100 years and "classics"? Also, any ideas on what the sets would be inside the house?

Yes smiles do help...lol :) We'll probably see all the classic monsters, as well as some new ones , I'm just afraid we may get a case of been here done that...god i hope not. I would really like to see the classics portrayed like they were in HHN 19 houses, they seemed "new" and fresh really felt great seeing the characters we know and love in a new light. I think they may use old set pieces from HHN 19 too...iIt'll be cool to see some of my favorite wolf man scenes...

  16. They might use the same effect from the Disaster pre-show that they used to show Christopher Walken. That would explain the use of the green screen in the previous photos. That's my guess.

That would be an incredible add to HHN, but i think the cost of the effect might be a little to high, i may be wrong, but i think we're more likely to see them in the queue video and maybe on some monitors in the house like in Interstellar terror with the captain.

They did say it was a tour of New(kd) vegas right? Maybe the'll give us a tour via video "surveillance" Thats how we may see and hear "them"(PENN) I think teller might have some really funny things too, can't wait to see how they surprise us.

  17. It's difficult to "read your post correctly" while wading through the stream of word vomit, but the term you're loosely grasping at is called a thematic sequal. But even if the rumored photograph house came to fruition, the only similarity to be found would be the use of intermittent strobes, but it is highly unlikely they would be meant to resemble a camera flash akin to DE, as it was employed to tie in the backstory of our photographer. Hence nothing about it could be considered a sequel. Otherwise I could state that The Matrix and The Lion King were sequels because they both included CGI.

If you can;t understand what I'm writing I'm sorry , but to come out and attack someone because you want to be a jerk doesn't seem okay. By the way, My post stated maybe rockstars and zombies...fits with TWD and AC, it was just a thought, if you don't like it fine but why the hell do you feel the need to try and shut me up, ON A SPECULATION THREAD. I was just giving an idea and if it doesn't happen, guess what I'm not mad. It was a guess, an estimate, an inference... you get the idea...I'm tired of posting my thoughts and having people tell me I'm fundamentally wrong, when that's impossible in speculation. But after hearing recant thoughts I don't think the Parade Building house is going to be 100 years of horror...HHN 23 will be that....The house, if it's made or approved or w/e. if it isn't zombies will probably be another Universal horror monster house...

  18. I couldn't agree more...DE was a fantastic house! I have to honestly say out of all the years of attending this event (going on 22 this year) this was one of the few houses that I actually found myself getting multiple scares in each trip through. There was just now way to really adjust your eyes to see where anyone was coming from. It takes a shitload to scare me and let me tell you THAT house did every single trip through.

My sentiments exactly...We may be overlooking and not discussing what may possibly be a fan favorite....If they haven't started construction, or just started, We may either see very cheap, OR...we may see another "Hallow'd past" type of house with old set pieces from nightingales or nevermore or DE or Body collectors, ECT. Hope we get a good creative use of money for an original idea tho.

  19. Considering they still haven't started constructing it, it will likely be the "cheap" house this year. But the cheap house has won HotY the last two years... so there's no telling how it may be received.

I've said before...Cheap doesn't mean bad...DE is a prime example...great house...had to be cheap. I personally really like DE, the whole house was scary with little money spent on set pieces it was surprising, at least to me. I think we may have a GREAT house on our hands here...The quiet ones usually are.

minus sleep walkers in 07...OMG IMO scariest house ever at HHN...IMO

    that had to be expensive
