  1. I think the Avon clue is too obvious especially since the gag hint was ding, dong. Seems like Murdy wanted people to come to that conclusion to throw us all off. Either way might as well try and figure out clues with each individual hint.

Hint #3: I came up with The Exorcist

Linda Blair was a FORMER MODEL and STARS in The Exorcist. Another is Trick r Treat. Leslie Bibb was a FORMER MODEL, but I don't know if her role qualifies as STARS in the film.

Hint #2: AVP. Avon Products Inc abbreviation=AVP.

Hint #1: has anyone even come up with something for this one that isn't AVP or Exorcist?

  2. In other fun news Leprechaun: Orgins is coming out this year DTV on September 30th. With WWE's Hornswaggle playing The Leprechaun.

    Anyways onto the current spec.

Beauty is only skin deep- AVP. Which I really hope isn't true. Don't get me wrong I'm a huge fan and think it would be badass, but that's the problem. Isn't the point of the event to be scary. If predator jumps out at me all I'm gonna think is "that's awesome" not "HOLY SH!T, IM GONNA DIE". I know I'm gonna get some hate for this, but that's my opinion.

Soap Commercial- AWIL. I would love to have this come to Hollywood.

Empire- Dracula Untold. If in HoH could possibly bring that location some justice.

    Teen Spirit- ?

    Properties being thrown around:

The Exorcist- I really hope Murdy gets it

Trick r Treat- I really hope we get it

FDTD- does the TV series even have enough awareness? You would hate to confuse the GP that may have only seen the movie.

The Conjuring- I agree with someone's recent post. I would prefer they wait for the other movies to give us more iconic scenes to use.

  3. Well crap. Are the 3 hints that go with that these ones:

The code name "Beauty is only skin deep" refers to a horror property that stars a former model and/or beauty queen.

The code name "Beauty is only Skin Deep" refers to THINGS that are beautiful on the outside... But not on the inside...

The code name "Beauty is only skin deep" refers to the BUSINESS of Beauty products...

  4. Beauty is Only Skin Deep (The "Freak-out" maze).

    -Treatment is 55 pages long.

-The code name "Beauty is only skin deep" refers to a horror property that stars a former model and/or beauty queen..

-One of the following is a red-herring:

-Hint #1: The code name "Beauty is only Skin Deep" refers to THINGS that are beautiful on the outside... But not on the inside...

-Hint #2: the code name "Beauty is only skin deep" refers to the BUSINESS of Beauty products...

-Hint #3 code-named "Beauty is only skin deep" The hint is, "Ding dong..." Can you guess what it is?

The main hint is a fact and 1 is fake out of the other 3 hints.

  5. Just did some research on "beauty is only skin deep" it definitely can't be Aliens or AVP. Not saying that AVP won't be at the event. Relax. Possibly the 7th maze? The first hint for the codename is it refers to a horror property that stars a former model and/or beauty queen.. which neither do. Exorcist still fits since Linda Blair was a child model. Also looked into trick r treat and Leslie Bibb was a former model as well, plus the ding dong hint works as well as things that are beautiful on the outside and ugly on the inside.

  7. Found some older tweets by Murdy regarding maze #3 and it's budget.

    @HorrorNights: Here's some insight into

the production process for HHN...1 of the toughest things is trying to figure out if we can pull off a property. I've already said that this year we have a lot of very complicated mazes, which makes the process even harder to "guesstimate". What makes it tricky is we have to commit to a property before we know if we can afford it. Like buying a house before you know the price. So over the years Chris and I have gotten really good at doing WAGs, which stands for "wild ass guess." We had to do that for maze #3. To truly know the cost of something you have to have everything fully designed and bid and that usually happens months later. The good news is we got some key numbers back today and we were spot on with our WAG. We can do everything we wanted to do in the maze! that's good news for you because this maze is going to blow your mind! If I wasn't psyched before now I'm super psyched!

  8. Ridesandstuff

That's been mention already...probably a 7th maze if the teaser site is any indication.

Ok cool. I'm just going back through Murdys tweets trying to connect anything. It seems like the spec has hit a dead end and more and more stuff is getting cut and not much is being added. This year is crazy.

  9. @HorrorNights: Just finished the treatment for our original maze which came in at a mammoth 75 pages! HHN 2014 treatments page count is now at 486! Yikes!

@HorrorNights: Happy to announce that I have finished writing all the material I needed to write for HHN 2014...final page count for this year...562! OMG!

In between those he started working on the super secret project. So there is 76 pages of treatment unspoken for.

  10. I just don't know what else it could be really. Someone should make a list of "freak out" properties

Pretty much on every list for most popular and scariest horror movies averages out to:

    1. Exorcist (A possibility)

    2. The Shining (won't happen)

    3. Alien (Hopefully it happens)

    4. Halloween (Already got it)

    5. Jaws (Nope)

    6. Poltergeist (last I read on here it's speculated for next year with the remake)

    7. Psycho (not really freak out since we see Norman every year)

    8. Texas Chainsaw Massacre (done)

    9. Nightmare on Elm Street (done)

    10. The Ring (Surprised how high it was on every list)

Considering how much Murdy freaked out over getting it and saying everyone else will freak out its hard to think it could be anything other than a big popular horror title. Any other properties you guys would add?
