  1. I hadn't been out to the parks in about a month because of the cold weather. My legs hurt so bad, they feel like they are going to fall off. I forgot the theme park leg syndrome!

lol I felt the same way when we went to Disney last week, except on top of that, it was FREEZING. I hope they feel better though sweets! :(

    USA beat Canada in hockey!!!!!

I KNOW! I'm so excited about that! They had it comin'... lol

I really need to make a new sig.. this one is super old.. Though I think I should do my paper first. hmm

I like your signatures. They always fascinate me with what you come up with. Them like your awesome costumes are always a wonderful surprise! Can't wait to see what you come up with darlin'!

Sweetie, I know what that feeling is like...which is why I'm unemployed...LOL (Which has it's good points: no longer hate my job and it's bad points: no money coming in...LOL)

ROFL! Lyn, you crack me up. I 100 percent agree with the feeling right now. I'm just working on getting into college, and SOON. Then I'll have grant money and student loans to live off of. I take my big test in March. It's just around the corner! I'm starting classes this Summer at Seminole. Hopefully no later than May 17th. Plus, I'm trying to get like, a weekend job at Books A Million. I've always wanted to work at a Book Store. That one's always so quiet and smells of delicious coffee!

  2. I'm gauging my ears. It hurts so bad but its kind of addicting lol

hahahahahaha. Gauging makes me think of like, a giant spoon picking off someone's ears. Everyone has different opinions about it, it interests me. Just be sure to clean them often and make sure they don't get infected.

  3. On a different note: I don't think Nazermanns will be used again as the one building is just so small... Do you think, with 10 SZ and last years sneak peak, we will see sting alley used?

I'd think it'd be too cluttered. But hey, Universal's surprised us before, right? :P;)

  4. Thanks mz_! That's quite impressive. That's what I meant earlier by the sound stages being huge. I see that in the same years like 2007, 2006, per three sound stage, at least two houses were inside. So if there are three sound stages, that means two houses per sound stage, which means six houses in all. So then it would leave Disaster's area, Jaws, and then the warehouse and prop houses? I don't know what they're called. They were used for Silver Screams and Chucky. We have ten houses right there, but how are they to route the queue lines, is the question.

I don't know how true this is, but my boyfriend said he has a friend in school doing an internship for Marketing at Universal and they said they weren't doing the Rocky Horror Picture Show this year or Bill & Ted. He could just be husslin' me. :P I don't believe they would do that, but it's debatable.

  5. Don't worry Dr. From what I've heard, if rumors serve me right, it'll be to your liking. ;)

As far as soundstages go, aren't those things like, HUGE?! I mean, I've seen them. I'm pretty sure they can squeeze up to four house or more in them. Two in each that is. Have some faith you guys! :D

Biggest and Brightest Full Moon of 2010 Tonight

    012910moon2.jpg

Tonight's full moon will be the biggest and brightest full moon of the year. It offers anyone with clear skies an opportunity to identify easy-to-see features on the moon.

This being the first full moon of 2010, it is also known as the wolf moon, a moniker dating back to Native American culture and the notion that hungry wolves howled at the full moon on cold winter nights. Each month brings another full moon name.

But why will this moon be bigger than others? Here's how the moon works:

The moon is, on average, 238,855 miles (384,400 km) from Earth. The moon's orbit around Earth – which causes it to go through all its phases once every 29.5 days – is not a perfect circle, but rather an ellipse. One side of the orbit is 31,070 miles (50,000 km) closer than the other.

So in each orbit, the moon reaches this closest point to us, called perigee. Once or twice a year, perigee coincides with a full moon, as it will tonight, making the moon bigger and brighter than any other full moons during the year.

Tonight it will be about 14 percent wider and 30 percent brighter than lesser full Moons of the year, according to Spaceweather.com.

As a bonus, Mars will be just to the left of the moon tonight. Look for the reddish, star-like object.

    Full moon craziness

Many people think full moons cause strange behavior among animals and even humans. In fact several studies over the years have tried to tie lunar phases to births, heart attacks, deaths, suicides, violence, psychiatric hospital admissions and epileptic seizures, and more. Connections have been inclusive or nonexistent.

The moon does have some odd effects on our planet, and there are oodles of other amazing moon facts and misconceptions:

    * A full moon at perigee also brings higher ocean tides. This tug of the moon on Earth also creates tides in the planet's crust, not just in the oceans.

    * Beaches are more polluted during full moon, owing to the higher tides.

    * In reality, there's no such thing as a full moon. The full moon occurs when the sun, Earth and the moon are all lined up, almost. If they're perfectly aligned, Earth casts a shadow on the moon and there's a total lunar eclipse. So during what we call a full moon, the moon's face is actually slightly less than 100 percent illuminated.

    * The moon is moving away as you read this, by about 1.6 inches (4 cm) a year.

    The moon illusion

Finally, be sure to get out and see the full moon as it rises, right around sunset. Along the horizon, the moon tends to seem even bigger. This is just an illusion.

You can prove to yourself that this is an illusion. Taking a small object such as a pencil eraser, hold it at arm's length, and compare its size to that of the moon just as it rises. Then repeat the experiment later in the night and you'll see that the moon compares the same in both cases. Alternately, snap two photos of the moon, with a digital camera or your cell phone, when the moon is near the horizon and later when it's higher in the sky. Pull both photos up on your computer screen and make a side-by-side comparison.

Astronomers and psychologists agree the moon illusion is just that, but they don't agree on how to explain it.

  7. Even though my first year was just HHN 17, I've long since researched other year's scare zones and houses. One of the scare zones that look like TONS of fun, but I heard it was really messy to clean up, are Treaks and Foons. Also, I'd love to see the Gentleman floating around again. I absolutely loved the atmosphere they created for that era, along with the ball room music. As far as houses go, I want to get a chance to witness screamhouse.

    JwFearman:

You said you thought The Director and The Usher would conflict? I think they would go wonderful together. Imagine the things those two could do as one? The Director shows terrible movies, killing people inside The Universal Palace Theater. I can see the Usher now, bringing us, the viewers, in to watch the gastly murders. ;)

  8. I'd like to see what you all have for a House and Scare Zone wish list.

  9. Yesterday I stopped at McDonald's on my way to Universal and it started snowing while I was in the drive-through.

Then I went to Universal where I met up with everyone and after the park closed, we went to Steph's hotel room and got her drunk for the first time(she just turned 21). It was hilarious and fun but I'm paying for it today. Advil is not helping this hangover at all.

I saw a little bit of flurrying yesterday afternoon.

  10. You know, I've always suggested, since the new build of the stage, that they should utilize it at HHN's. You know how they have hep, funky, happy bands for mardi gras? Why not bring out like, some alternative? Halestorm, Korn, Slipknot, Flyleaf. It'd be really cool if Midnight Syn. played live. The only problem with that though would be where they could set up que lines which leads to, they can open up the gates/bridge to IOA and put three houses there, and five at the studios.
