  1. Welcome to the boards, Grendel! An' to answer your question, I don't believe the release date was changed due to the house being at the event. A lot of times when there's a IP of a current film, the film is released way before or after the event. An' even if the film flopped before the event, the house is still made. (Dead Silence and Doomsday come to mind with that.) An' speaking of IP's, I'm getting a rumbling or two from scources that the ratio has changed and it'll be 5 IP's to 3 originals. If that's the case, we might be taking a trip to the Titty Twister after all.
  2. ThNdIzNiR, it would be best if you just accept that a Dracula Untold house is happening. All the scources are pointing in that direction, and over here...if a bunch of scources/independent individuals etc. are saying there's going to be Dracula Untold house, then there's going to be a Dracula Untold house. Simple as that. The only way it's not happening is if there's a sudden change, and the scources are good at letting us know if something like that happens like with the From Dusk Til Dawn house getting replaced by the rumored Thanksgiving themed house. So on that note, with the various scources pointing at AVP, Dracula Untold and Halloween as the other IP's...those are the ones that are gonna' happen. As Legacy has pointed out before, when a bunch of people have the same info, it's hard to deny the accuracy. Also, calling any IP or orginal at this moment "a waste" is very premature simply because we don't know what the house fully entails and how it'll ultimately be executed. Year after year there have been promising sounding houses that turned out so-so or terrible, and on the flip side there have been houses that we didn't think much of from it's announcement, but it turned out great. Another good thing to mention about IP's is the quality of the house can be much different from the IP it's based off from. One of the greatest examples is the film Dead Silence. The film came out in March, well before HHN 17. The film was a flop, yet HHN announced a Dead Silence: The Curse of Mary Shaw house. The film for me was so-so, but the house was downright awesome. So much so that it's in a lot of people's top 10 favorite houses lists. So no matter how the film of Dracula Untold turns out, the house itself could be a lot of fun.
  3. Let's see, with this revealed information these are the clues I can connect to the known houses. (At the moment I don't know all the clues connected to the houses, so I'll only say what I'm certain on.) "Crows" fit's with Cassilda's Clue #14, Dr. Jimmy's Cryptic Performance 13a and b. An' the cat pictures of a Native American Cat and a Mayan God Cat. The scources wasn't sure if this was going to be a From Dusk til' Dawn house, or a original house based on Thanksgiving. So both Cassida and Dr. Jimmy hinted both at the same time with their clues. (Food, Glorious Food is the matching cryptic performance for the house to be built.) "Charlie" fit's with Cassilda's Clue #13 (Both Amanda and Annabelle are well-known haunted dolls), and the cat doll picture from Dr. Jimmy. (Not certain on the cryptic performance. Both 11 or 12 could fit.) "Smile" fit's with Dr. Jimmy's Cryptic Performance #2 (You're Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile), it fit's well with clowns who usually have a constant smile painted on their face. The cat picture with the clown face certainly fits this as well. Cassilda's Clue #4 and #10 fit the best here, possibly the whole Who am I? as well. "Ritual" fit's with Cassilda's Clue #7 and Dr. Jimmy's Cryptic Performance #9, and the cat under a bed picture. This one's interesting due to it's pointing to both a ritual/summoning gone wrong, and some sort of Boogeyman. CC's clue points to the ritual/summoning part. While Dr. Jimmy's performance of "Kiddy Widdy Winkies" refers to the Child Catcher of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, he goes after children. An' children are certainly prey to the boogeyman. "Evac" - CC #2, and the cat picture with the Xenomorph. Dr. Jimmy's CP #6 (Stars) "Home/Captain, who cares, IT'S HALLOWEEN!" - CC #1, the cat picture with the big knife that Myers is a fan of. Dr. Jimmy's CP #7 (Home) "Synergy" - CC #12, the cat picture wearing a vampire cape. Dr. Jimmy's CP #10 (I get a kick out of you) The Purge SZ - CC #5, Dr. Jimmy's CP is tricky...I'm leaning more towards #1 (Masquerade), however for some strange reason...#5 (Rainbow High) seems like it could fit as well. As for the cat pictures, oh holy heck. The one wearing the masquerade mask fits due to everyone wearing masks, but the news picture of them taking back the streets fit's as well. That's what I got so far...could be wrong, but I'm fairly certain on most.
  4. So 4 IP's and 4 original houses? That's nicely balanced and I look forward to seeing what's coming, and I won't lie, I really hope Alien is coming since that was one of the first horror films I've ever saw. The very first was American Werewolf in London, so if A&D treats Alien with the same respect and enthusiasm...it's gonna' be terrifying in the best way possible. As for Dracula Untold being a house, it's certainly possible. An' a word to those who're worried about that since the film isn't out, Orlando has done great work with IP's that have been so-so. One of the best examples was from 2007, Dead Silence: The Curse of Mary Shaw. While the film itself was so-so, the house was awesome and quite frankly it was the biggest surprise that year.
  5. Since it sounds like the event does have some heavy-hitters IP-wise, I'm wondering if they'll announce them soon...or wait til later as a nice surprise to finish things off.
  6. This article confirms it's a soundstage. http://www.bizjournals.com/tampabay/prnewswire/press_releases/Florida/2014/06/09/FL44947
  7. I don't think the event is not getting AHS due to The Walking Dead, I'd say it's more due to the fact that the creators wanted particular scenes in the house which Universal didn't want to do. Which is what happened last year and plans for AHS was shelved and replaced by Evil Dead. Unless AHS bended to Universal's wishes, I don't see an' AHS house happening.
  8. So to no surprise whatsoever, The Walking Dead is returning. This year it'll be in the form of the largest house they've ever done in HHN's history, twice the size of anything they've done in the past. http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/tv/2014/06/09/halloween-horror-nights-walking-dead-universal/10220147/ For those that are...ummm..displeased by the news, just remember this. Over at Hollywood they're stuck with a maze, scare zone and a TWD Terror Tram once again. An' they're probably not getting particular IP's because of that.
  9. When it comes to Dr. Jimmy's 13th clues, three things come to mind. 1. Part of me thinks that could be for a house and accompanying scare zone. Houses and Scare Zones are technically different. Also, since his clues are covering more then just houses, who's to say the first 8 clues were strictly houses? (Part of me still feels one of the early clues given wasn't for a house, to be frank it might not even be a scare zone...though it could considering the area it's in.) 2. Another part of me feels the clues are for two roaming hoards. 3. Finally, it could be a scare zone that undergoes a signifigant metaporphisis a la' 7 from 2011. (This one's probably the most unlikely, but I'm covering all bases.)
  10. Considering we saw Charlie's fate at the end of the first Dead Exposure, that would be a very, very short sequel house. Anyways, I'd be up for a Dead Exposure sequel. The original was one of the scarier houses to come around, so it would be fun to see how they'd do a full-blown sequel. (For the record, I don't consider the House of Horrors it's sequel. Nor it's room in the Hallow'd Past.)
  11. With the offical tweet from A&D, I don't think this is like 22 where they suddenly had a IP or two dropped on them and they had to shelve other projects. With him saying "Finally got it!" at the end, I have a feeling this is a IP they wanted to do and initially planned to have it this year...but couldn't start writing the treatment until they got confirmation they could do it. For me that seems more plausable at the moment.
  12. Most of the posts I've been seeing is people assuming AHS: Coven due to the song being about New Orleans. As I've said before, I think that's a red herring. Though I think it's safe to say with this clue, one thing is a red herring while the other leads to the correct answer. Now SirOwenDisney and anyone else can speculate all they want what the location of a house is from the videos...however they're going to have a tough time looking for something that's not there.
  13. My thoughts exactly, in fact with Dr. Jimmy's 3rd clue, that could point to a Treehouse of Horror overlay for the Simpsons Ride. Yes, it could also point to something American Horror Story related, but personally I feel that's the red herring.
  14. Truth be told, these clues are definitely giving me an "Ifrit" vibe. I've heard rumors of an Nightingales sequel, so I wouldn't be surprised...though then again, I wouldn't mind one either. As for KidZone's future, it should be interesting to see how things are handled. All the reliable scources I know have brought up that's the next order of business after Diagon Alley opens. (Funny how TTT never brought this up, yet he brought up the whole Twister getting replaced by a TWD walk-through with an' enforced age requirement thing...which was never brought up by the reliable scources.) In mostly unrelated news, Kong in IOA. From everything I've read, I'm really looking forward to that. Not gonna' call it "Kong 360" though, this one's going to be more substantial and complex then that.
  15. Yeah, that comment from Murdy doesn't mean that they're not doing Aliens ever. That reply was to somone guessing that codename #4: Atari 2600 was Aliens. So all that Murdy did was confirm that codename #4 is not Aliens. There's a chance #3 or a different one ends up being Aliens. The comment that the sets would be astronomical to reproduce could be used to throw people off as well, sure they would be astronimical to reproduce...but that doesn't mean it's not possible or not happening. Remember, a lot of people were dead certain that Murdy wasn't doing an' Alice Cooper maze because he stated he never met AC in person. (As it turned out, meeting him by phone and email was a far different case.)
  16. One thing that I've noticed is with the exception of Twister getting replaced by a TWD attraction...everything TTT has mentioned has already been rumored/brought up by other scources beforehands. Quite frankly anybody can take what has been rumored by others and claim it's all true. So while I'm not saying he's wrong on the houses, however this can all be brought up in a less trollish way. After all what's the point of doing the picture thing after you've already said what's coming?
  17. Back on speculation topic, regaurding Dr. Jimmy's videos. There is a good amount of elements which could end up true, though one I feel that has the most legs is the Simpsons Treehouse of Horror. Granted, not as a house...but as a Simpsons Ride overlay which has been on the drawing board/rumor before. If I recall, A&D definitely want's to do it, but someone either on Universal (or more likely Fox's) side threw a fit/disagreed. Though with the addition of Springfield in the park, something like ToH could have a better chance.
  18. So with this rumor of Twister getting replaced by a TWD attraction, due to the details of it such as Twister going down in November, the new attraction getting announced around HHN, the age enforcement....you would think this would have popped up amongst several rumor scources by now. Thing is, this is the first time I've heard this rumor. As for the several rumor scources, not a single peep about something like this...however they've all been pretty clear what the focus in the studio will be after Potter. Things are looking quite certain that attractions will close in the fall, but Twister is most certainly not in KidZone.
  19. "Those who know, don't talk. Those who talk, don't know." If for whatever reason someone who knows does talk, they won't "know" very much longer. There's very good reasons why those with credible scources only give out hints and clues, instead of flat-out saying what's going in and where. Scources get cut off if stuff like that happens, after all they've said it once and can say it again..."We're watching..."
  20. Sounds like they nailed a property they really wanted. @horrornightsORL Just confirmed one of the mazes two hours ago. This one.. Oh yes this one... Unbelievable. @horrornightsORL This is one of those dream properties. The characters involved are epic! Very excited for the team.. And of course the fans! @horrornightsORL All good things.. @horrornightsORL This is one of those "Man, wouldn't it be cool if...nah there's no way... What? We got it?" moments. @horrornightsORL Then the elation of the "we got it" moment turns into pure terror of now having to live up to it. Same emotion we had with AWIL. Good chance this is one shared with HW since Murdy was tweeting about landing a property that would make fans freak out.
  21. ^ With the rumors of a icon, I wouldn't bank on every street being IP focused. I'll certainly agree there will be IP streets, but not all of them. As for more TWD, there was no doubt whatsoever that they're gonna' milk this thing dry, so it's no surprise there's rumors of another house. One can complain all they want about it, but until this IP has been milked dry or ain't being as big of a pull, it's not going away.
  22. Adding to the rumor mill, apparently there's a new site providing info for HHN. While for me I'd take these with a grain of salt, some are fairly amusing. http://www.orlandoinformer.com/2013/rumor-roud-up-december-20-univsersal-orlando/ Out of the three rumors, the one they seem fairly certain on is Insidious. An' that it'll be expanded from Hollywood's version with scenes from both films. The second rumor is American Horror Story, with it being said that UC is talking with the producers of the show, and they're pumped at the possibility of being featured. (I'll admit that little comment raises an' eyebrow for me, since wasn't the AHS house planned for this year scrapped due to creative differences?) The third rumor....another return of Jack. So far it's being said he'll have his own show, as the actor who played the Grinch in the Grinchmas show has signed a contract for. (If this does happen, cue the whining from those clamoring for original stuff.)
  23. When it comes to Potter, if it's not open for HHN then I'm 99.9% certain it'll be due to WB and not J.K. Rowling. After all, Rowling was totally fine with Forbidden Journey's original incarnation. However, it was all toned down due to WB not wanting it scary.
  24. My wishful thinking for the event is pretty simple. - Immersive/themed scare zones. (Probably gonna' happen) - Whatever IP they may get, I hope it's all something that A&D wants to do. This year showed the positive of that in spades, and 2012 showed how bland things get when they're forced to do several houses on the fly due to a last minute change. - If they do bring back a original property, I hope it's either Nightingale's or Catacombs. - As for TWD, I'm in the bunch that feels they're going to milk this as long as possible, so I'm expecting it'll return in some form. Finally, the biggest one for me. I wish for better marketing, since all the announcements and such with PS was a very annoying waste of time. It truly didn't add anything, and to be quite honest the straight-up bare bones announcements on twitter and facebook were far more productive and informative.
  25. Serious question, why do you want to bring back icons where the things they were involved with were heavily IP-related? It's quite honestly contradicting to what you've been ragging on.
