  1. YES!!!

The fact that someone ask in the first place kinda already did that if If that is what he was trying to avoid look at all the sites saying "AWIL coming to HHN...and Show may be revealed" that duck was already f*cked as someone who understands this aspect as I'm sure he does why not just say no at that moment.

I really don't think that person was part of the "GP", cause most of 'em don't even know B&T was cancelled last year.

  2. Gotta be honest here, watching the panel it seems Landis was joking and/or just assumed HHN had a show this year cause they had one every year in the past. Murdy wanted to keep it about AWiL and avoid anything that could take the focus in the press away from AWiL. He wouldn't want headlines to read: "John Murdy: 'No shows this year at Halloween Horror Nights'; Announces American Werewolf in London Maze"

  3. Two Words: John Landis. The fact he's not only allowing this to happen but is saying it's better than what was in Florida completely negates the "Evil Dead Hype" argument.

Hey, stop interrupting me while I'm trying to bring everyone's expectations down so the experience of going through the maze is even better. lol. Oh my God, I'm so excited for this!

  4. If they're going to have ricochet effects from the bullets, that tells me this maze is going to be CRAZY detailed. It's catching up with AVP being my most-anticipated.

Everyone calm down for a moment. Two words: Evil Dead. Yes, I'm incredibly excited for this maze, but let's hope these ricochet effects aren't just red mist coming out of holes in the wall.

  5. I think it will be either one of these options:

-SlaughterWorld returning. They can just have the cast work on a revised script for the event. I don't think this is likely because of the noise and the bad ratings it got way back when. It would do WONDERS for capacity though.

-A magic show of some sort. There wouldn't need to be any auditions for an outside figure to do a magic show. I could see Penn and Teller or Brian Brushwood do a magic show for the event.

Those are the only two options I see happening. I could also see a return for Chucky's Insult Emporium in Super Silly Funland as a second show.

Holy crap. Penn and Teller does seem likely considering how close they are and how connected they are to the event. I feel like they'd love to do something like that.

Edit: And sure enough, Penn and Teller are doing no shows during September and have one weekend in October booked plus one night on a separate weekend in October. The schedule would be feasible but they wouldn't do a show every night of the event if they were to be a part of it this year.

  6. So it would seem Murdy deflected answering it by confirming what we already knew, that there is gonna be another maze announcement. That's it. No show everybody. We can go home now......

Edit: InsideUniversal's Twitter makes it sound more likely that is actually is a show.

"Earlier, Landis was egging Murdy on to reveal the show. Said it was awesome. Does he know something more?"

  7. I'm so excited for the Subway "run over" scare. That was the most original scare for me and probably my favorite ever. That's mainly because every other scare is a distraction one or a feather tickling you in the dark. So I'm glad to see the return of that tactic.

Edit: I still fully believe the maze next to JP is either Halloween or The Exorcist.

  8. I'm going to be one of the people who decides to watch opening scaremonies, I did early access last year, and while I went on the night where there was like no waits for anything, I still feel that if your only going once you need to see scaremonies, it's something that you need to see at least once every year, you're not getting the full experience if you don't do it. And if you follow every thing else you should get everything done easily. By the time you get to the upper lot the wait should be 30-40 MIN MAX, no way Dracula will be an hour, I'd say all the mazes that aren't on the backlot goes for same, 30-40 min

I personally wouldn't agree completely with that. I think it sets an absolutely fantastic tone for the event, but it's pretty much the same every year. I think what you're getting from being on the backlot with very few people is much more valuable than seeing the opening scaremonies. From experience, it feels like once you get to the lower lot scarezone (however lame it is), and through the backlot scarezone, you have effectively been put in the mood for HHN. That being said, nothing can top the adrenaline rush of the fire towers coupled with chainsawed people running at you, just not sure if it's totally worth it.

  9. DTH, I did Early Entrance last year but was wondering your opinion on taking Early Entrance and doing every backlot maze twice. Do the lines get long that quickly? Also, I've done Despicable Me already (If lines are long, highly suggest single rider), and while I enjoyed it a lot, I don't feel the need to do it again. If that was taken out of your schedule, would it still be feasible to do the backlot twice and finish everything else?

  10. That's the 2013 site, thanks for playing though!

haha, yes, I'm fully aware. But notice the dates they added. If we're right, those are the new dates for this year. It wouldn't make sense that they'd change the page to add Wednesday dates to a calendar from last year if it wasn't what they were gonna use this year. And, the calendar here starts on the 19th, AKA when HHN starts this year.

Edit: Also, on the bottom it says to save up to $20 on Killer Deal Nights. Well, the calendar has $25 off this year. It's not just a crazy glitch, this should be our schedule for this year.

  11. Guys is no one freaking out about the new dates on the page? http://www.halloweenhorrornights.com/hollywood/2013/tickets.php

We're getting Wednesdays now! The event is 28 nights now as opposed to 20 last year! This will seriously help with the crowds issue. This must be because they don't have a show now....

Edit: I feel bad for all the scareactors working 5 nights in a row now....

Edit 2: Also, it seems prices have gone up $3. The cheapest tickets last year were $49 if I recall, now they're $52.

  12. Everyone is saying not to knock these mazes before I've tried them, but I'm going to do just that. Here are my review predictions (out of 10) for the event based mainly on my excitement level. (Leaving out the original for now of course)

    1. Alien vs. Predator - 10

    2. American Werewolf in London - 9

    3. The Walking Dead: End of the Line - 7

    4. From Dusk ‘Till Dawn - 5

    5. Dracula: Untold - 3

    6. Face Off - 2

I think putting my feelings in perspective above and assuming the original concept is good, I think we'll have 4 very good mazes, and 3 disappointing ones. That being said, if I had done this same predicition last year, I would have said we'd have 4 good mazes and 2 disappointing ones which turned into 3 good mazes and 3 disappointing ones. But as long as we don't have another Evil Dead situation and have another Insidious situation where it takes us by surprise, this could be a great year. I'm hesitant, but I have enough faith to be excited.

  13. Thought I would post something I found interesting. Here's the list of treatment lengths for the mazes:

    1. The Walking Dead: End of the Line – 90 pages
    2. From Dusk ‘Till Dawn – 76 pages
    3. Face Off – 75 pages
    4. Original maze – 75 pages
    5. Empire – 72 pages
    6. Alien vs. Predator – 55 pages
    7. American Werewolf in London – 47 pages

What do you guys think about this? AWiL seems to be the most detailed in person so far, but why is that and AvP at the bottom? And why is Face Off near the middle? Does treatment length really directly correlate with detail or length of the maze? Discuss!

  14. Can we move whether Alien Vs. Predator is a good choice to that thread? Let's continue speculation. We have a few questions to answer: What are the next 3 mazes to be announced? (We know about AWiL, but what is the original and what is the IP?) When will these mazes be announced? (We know there will be one announcement before Scare LA, but which and when?) And I'm sure we can come up with more questions just to pass the time.
