Wasn't sure if I was going to make it at all this year, but the gods have deemed my presence worthy at the gates. Sept. 27, 28, and 29.

Yeah. I didn't take spanish in high school but that translation came pretty easily after seeing the picture. Potential to be a fantastic house so long as Orlando doesn't try to tweak it too much from the Hollywood model.
Edit: Who am I kidding; that's almost certainly what's going to happen.

Indeed. It was a fantastic year, all things considered. The event will always be a blast, though, regardless of snags or hang-ups. Already looking forward to speculation and discussion for next year, though

My first year was last year; I'd heard about Halloween Horror Nights here and there online as well as my aunt having brought it up on several occasions.
Well, last year Southwest had a sale on flights down to Orlando, and things just happened to work out that we were going down at the end of September. Things lined up, we stayed at the Royal Pacific for Universal, and that first night I attended HHN. Addict for life now.

Hmmm, if we played up the angle of the Grim Reaper, maybe they dug up his scythe? It could certainly be otherworldly in appearance. And, all the monsters could then be figthing for control of it?
And then at the end of the event one of the groups claims victory and has the scythe based on some GP voting system and next year gets a house after their entire brood has been corrupted by the evil of the scythe?!
*sigh* Sorry, got carried away. Heh

lol I just dated myself, oh well. ANYWAY....unusual moans/white substance?? Ok so this signifies more than one "something" has been dug up. I agree with this vessel idea...sort of like a genie in a lamp, some kind of evil entity was sucked into a vessel by previous "good guys" and buried underground to stay there forever. And the white substance...maybe something that spreads and "infects" universal employees/guests and turns them into different groups of evil beings (SZs). Idk I'm still pondering this whole thing....
Ivan Ooze? I can only hope. And if he's around, I need to see me some Lord Zedd as well.

Something else I just noticed (and could have been mentioned in previous posts, I apologize in advance if this is a repost) is the static on the radio in Silent Hill 2. Could be some pretty easy and freaky ways to incorporate that into the house

After reading the exact quote again, they say they dug up "something", not necessarily "someone"... could we possibly be faced against an object as opposed to an icon? It could possibly be like the lantern was for hhn 20... just a thought here but they could have dug up something evil that releases these hordes all over universal... any thoughts?
Well...If we make reference to The Ifrit at all, we could possibly surmise Djinni...So maybe a lamp? Or vase of some sort? A vessel in which to keep (or trap) a being? Reaching here, and yes I know i've been void of any input until now. Work is hell damnit.

Does anyone else feel like this could be The First Evil, or something like it? All this digging/underground/something-we've-never-seen-before stuff has me pondering.
Also, the "it's freaking us out a little bit" part sounds really odd to me....why would Universal be freaked out, after 22 years of HHN horror, by something they dug up? What could, hypothetically speaking of course, make them THAT worrisome?
They finally saw the bill for how much this event cost this year?

Now, I may be missing the details that outline an additional doll in this picture in regard to what *I* just noticed. But beside the cheek of the dummy in the foreground there looks to be a very distorted image. I think that might be the image that was questioned.

The complaining is ridiculous. We will still get the same excellent quality of set and scare actor with our without official IP rights or not. Both of these house themes are right in line with Universal's background and expertise. I hope they do have a house and scarezone matching. The siren and fog transition would be amazing and so fun to participate in and watch.
Agreed. Being a part of the otherworldly transition would definitely be one of the highlights for me.

Like has been stated in many posts previously; As much as we say the event would be lackluster without one thing or another, we will all have an amazing time. Losing TWD signature and having it become "Generic farm zombie house" would seem like a heavy loss but all in all I really don't think anyone on this forum is enough of a brand whore to say that it sucked simply because we *didn't* have the trademark characters or names.

Comcast has the ability to make this on par with the great years of the past or to completely bomb the event. The negativity is just a side effect of uncertainty and nervousness at new-ish leadership.

I received the same email. This one makes me think that all the "houses" are part of one massive complex someplace in the woods. Mansion being the main entrance, La Llorona being out back somewhere (ala greenhouse style), Death's Vengeance starting off in some dark inner cloister, etc.
