  1. Hey instead of going in the middle of the event as I did in years past, I'll probably be going the last two nights of HHN, as well as opening night of course. I don't have any question about opening night, but what's Halloween and the last night of HHN like?? Which of those night is more packed, if packed at all? And are the casts as intense as normal nights more or less?

I'm taking my friends, some of them first timers, to the last 2 nights, so any advice on giving them the full experience on those nights would be great!

  2. I know that the scenery will be great and as for the scareactors that's for me to decide not now but on the days that I'll be going. Hopefully I'll be there on the days when all of the casts are at their best and most frightening. I will say though that the only thing I'll have LOW expectations on is the "flying bats" scene, if they even have. Yes, I hope they'll have scareactors in the room dressed as bats with a projection of Vlad's flying bats playing on the walls, which is similar to the forest scene in the Evil Dead house last year, along with some bats hanging on the roof like the Vaseline-covered vines and cables in past houses. But To be honest with you guys I'm comparing this possible scene to the "Pause room" in Resident Evil, where we thought it would something more (SAs in "pause" position) but it was just 2 static character props. Now don't get me wrong, I expect good things of this house, but it's just that one scene i won't expect.

PS. Was there ever a post/thread that had the criteria on judging HOTY? I could swear I remember seeing it before. This talk of HOTY makes me want to review it again. If there was can someone send me a link to the thread or post? You don't have to PM it to me you could just post it here as well.

  3. Honestly when I hear it having the possibility of being a sleeper hit, I'm not really skeptical about it. I can actually picture this house being really good. Unfortunately I don't have very much to go on about this house except the trailer and Dracula: Legacy in Blood.

  4. Everyone here has different ideas about what will happen, but one thing is for sure. AVP is going to be one of those houses where Mike and the A&D team will probably have to use everything they learned over the years, from new technology, detailed environments, and extremely amazing costumes. Based on how Aliens and Predators have been around for a long time it's safe to assume that it's been on the table for a loong time. What I think we can agree on is that no matter what's going to happen, this will be one hell of a house.

  5. Well I guess we now know where the 6'1"-7' scare actors come in. Oh my gosh I'm so excited right now that I won't have to rewatch those awful movies since they are making this wonderful IPs their own! Also do you think they will have AWIL-style puppets for the Xenomorphs, a couple of costumes for the Aliens or even both?

  6. Still, Aiello has only announced 2 of the 8 mazes leaving us with 6 remaining. If I remember correctly he doesn't announce on weekends right? So Aiello will probably have 4 mazes revealed the same week as hollywoods since 2 of our rumored mazes are shared with Hollywood and the other 2 being whatever.

Basically I'm just trying to find hope to at least have 1-2 mazes revealed this week. All this waiting is driving me insane Lol.

  7. Glad we came to this conclusion LOL.

    Also to Ridesandstuff:

I was looking at Murdy's tweets when I saw a hint that he gave to someone who begged for an obscure hint for a house. The hint was called Chuck Berry. After researching I found out that Berry covered the 1946 song Route 66. This fits the criteria that it's about a place and it's covered many times. I hope I clarified it for you.

Even so I could still be wrong, but this time I'm pretty sure.

  8. Okay I found the links! To be honest, it's possible that the article isn't there but my criteria is based on Murdy's tweets:

Inspired by a obscure CRAZY npr report like the type that goes unnoticed by mass media.

    -Lots of visual research needed.

-Has a strange connection to Route 66 song

-It's a FAMILY AFFAIR concerning the 3 MAIN CHARACTERS.

-It's "AMERICAN as Apple pie" (the story)

Now here are the stories, read and see what's worthy:

Personally I think it's between the dead man who woke up in an autopsy and the mysterious burro murders. So far I'm stump so please help.

  9. I think that they should have the purge announcement voice where both Louie's and the Twister Queue, warning you about the purge infested area and preparing you for what's to come. Then every hour or so an alarm blares throughout New York which will lead to hundreds of purgers yelling "kill them all!" Or something like that and scattering.

  10. To be serious, I have no idea what the reason is for the icon and theme declination and it could be various reasons. Still, whether it is because of new executives or because of a slowly dying creativity bank (I hope it's the former and not the latter). Logically it's probably A&D trying out new ideas. Either way, everyone has their own opinions and feelings about this other than my own and I acknowledge that.

Also think about this. Themes are difficult to pull off; make a couple of mistakes and the theme is half-ass, and we all know that they don't do half ass things, especially on purpose. Unfortunately themes are limited and therefore repeated. Take Jurassic Park and Frankenstein for instance. Different plots but same theme (don't play God). Themes also restrict the event, since the housesand sometimes the scare zones are restricted to comply with the theme such as 2008 with tales and fables and 2009 with movies. How can they give us a wide variety with such a restriction. Believe me, I love themes and icons, but even I understand this unfortunate fact. We can't have it all in one year ya know.

Don't worry my fellow fans of horror! Be optimistic and not as negative and morbid as A&D's horrific creations! Remember both A&D and HHN is like a human being, growing with both the past present and future generations. Like us, it learns from mistakes and good ideas. Don't lose your cool if it makes a mistake one year because it's sure to fix it the next. Like a person waiting for dessert or a person waiting for the skin flick on Cinemax, you just have to be patient, and soon you'll have what you wantmaybe

  11. Is this a leak? Geez how many leaks are going to happen lol? I mean I love early reveals but there is something about leaks that feel more disappointing than excited. Ah but I shouldn't be fussing, it's not like we didn't knew it was coming.

Anyway, I can see much potential in that sprung tent. If what I remember about Nevermore is correct then Halloween will be just like that, having a huge feel inside that small tent. I have a feeling I will love this house.

  12. After going insane looking at literally ALL of the NPR news reports from January to Mid-April, I found some good ones that probably has to do with the Original maze and strangely connects to the 1946 song "Route 66". I don't know if you can open the links, but if you can't just copy paste:

There, I have limited the stories to these (and a few more I'm unsure of) based off of Murdy's limited NONREDHERRED hints. I'm so burned out now, so maybe you guys can do the rest.

PS. If you didn't know the 1946 song is "Route 66" which based on good info. And as far as the main characters go, it's a domestic family affair as american as Apple pie

  13. You guys probably saw this but Murdy tweeted a hint about the original maze, saying that as far as the 3 main characters go, it's a domestic (not foreign) family affair, and it's as "American as Apple pie."

Also Murdy heard the npr news report earlier this year, and if you calculate the date of the first comment about the maze (4/21/14), then the npr report had to happen between Januaryearly April. Just wanted to narrow down the clues :-)
