  1. I'm pretty sure it will happen! Also, I think that they will probably use the mirror gag effect to show Father Karras on the bottom of the flight of stairs if they do that scene.

That... and I hope we get to see the staircase spider walk. That scene still gives me the heebie-jeebies after multiple viewings.

Hopefully, they can find a good contortionist to do the spider-walk scene. I think in the movie, they had a female contortionist do that scene on a harness and flying wires.

  3. the only reason I did not buy the Icons shirt this year
having Chucky in it was kind of dumb. Usher is my favorite since 2009 but I found it really weird that there was nothing with him. pretty bizarre actually

well if you think about it, with the exception of Jack, all the icons were  pictures from the past years, especially seen on the brochures. However, the Usher never had any pictures of him like Chucky, Saw and Wolfman in 2009.

  4. I just remembered a couple of good stories so I thought I'd say it before I forget.

In 2011, I was exiting the Nightmaze scarezone when I saw this couple that was to scared to go in. What I saw (and they didn't) was a Scareactor camouflaged with the black surrounding just a few feet in front of them. When they finally mustered the courage to enter, the Scareactor jumped at them, making them sprint to the Grown Evil zone. I've never laughed so hard that night haha.

In 2012 when the scareactors were given freedom to roam everywhere, I was leaving the Alice Cooper house. I saw 7 maybe 8 people stopping at the Barney area looking at a 7 foot tall Beast Scareactor hiding Behind a pillar across from us. Soon after two girls were walking to the house TOWARDS the Scareactor while singing the Barney song. When they finally got to last verse (and the Beast), he jumped out in front of them, the girl pushed her friend into the Scareactor and hauled ass away from the house and the Beast. We saw the whole thing go down and we never said a thing to the girls. It was hilarious and we are jerks for it :D

Also I like the stories so far guys! Keep them going!

  5. We all know that Halloween Horror Nights is there to scare us but there can be unexpected moments of entertainment and/or hilarity relating to certain encounters with scareactors at HHN. Whether it be in a scare zone or a house from ANY time at HHN, please post stories of an HHN moment where you couldn't help but smile, giggle, or even laugh!

Please don't mistake this for Scareactor shoutouts, but if there's still a similar thread then lock this thread and restart the topic on the original since I'd love to hear your stories!

  6. I agree that this scare zone is not particularly "immersive" due to certain circumstances (budget, parade, etc.). However this scarezone is one of my favorites surprisingly, and it's mainly due to the scareactors. Those psychos seem to make it work for me, especially with how they interact with everyone passing by. They just look like they're having a great time and I just can't help but smile when I interact with them or see them scare other people.

  7. Sunday:

I was walking late at night in an empty Run house. The moment I entered the biohazard room, one the runner scareactors sprinted to my face from across the room and it made me jump bad. Nice job!

I've said how much I love the scareactors from Psychoscareapy zone, however one of favorites is the female scareactor with the monkey wrench who on three different times of the night asked me to pet the wrench or just bopped me on the head with it.

  8. I completely agree. Purge had zero budget that I can see. maybe a few mask and some spray paint.

It baffles me and truly bugs me about the Jacks still... If they are intended to be Jack. Just makes no sense to have an unfinished product. I mean the house is amazing otherwise but why not put your best foot for forward?

The variance in reviews of houses is good I think. It shows the diversity in the houses and appealing to different tastes.

I went opening night too so I see what you mean with the Purge. However what will be this house's saving grace - and some of the houses need this too (I'm calling you out FvJ)- is aggressive scareactors, but that's something that grows with the event.

So far I'm treating this house like a potential Havoc house - both used recycled sets but what made Havoc fantastic was its scareactors. If the Purge can take it 2 steps further then I'll be happy.

  9. Opening Night:

All Night Die In - in the early hours of the event I was shazaming a song after leaving Run when "The Thing" scare actor slowly got near my face. I loved it so much haha

Monsters and Mayhem: I think it was around 8:00-8:30. I was passing through the Forsaken room when I accidentally walked into a boohole and one of the clown scare actors got me so good. It's difficult to get me to jump like that so props.

The Purge: I was walking through the room where the chainsaw purger is with the fridge and when I got to the transition, a girl (who I didn't realize then was a scare actor) asked me if I could go behind saying she got lost. When we reached the next room she was dragged out of line by another purge scareactor and I fully enjoyed that.

To every scare actor in Shadybrook: Unleashed, I loved every single one of you psychos! Keep acting insane and flipping your shit every time that gazebo explodes with fire haha!

    • "Carousel" by HUWS & Milly Rome - Carousel

    - Icons Scarezone:

    • "Opened Way" - Silent hell-music from the movie by stanton shows (I know there's another version of this song from the video game, but I forgot what it was called)

    • "Oraculum" - The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo OST by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross

    - All Night Die In:

    • "Ave Satani (From 'The Omen')" - The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra

    - Main Entrance:

    • "Dance of the Deadless Corpse" by Zombie Girl - Blood, Brains, and Rock n' Roll
    • "(Encore Track) Waltz of the Living Dead" by New York Disco Villains - Popcorn

I'm going to keep attending the event this year since I just moved here and got a FFP+ so I'll keep helping out when I can!

  11. Holy crap, I come back to the forums seeing more than 10 pages and I think the house is been announced when in actuality it was all this craziness about Scream! I feel bad for Aiello and company especially due to the fact that this had to happen on the 25th anniversary. However being a person who tends to look for silver linings I hope to spread my optimism to you guys with this.

With this Scream fiasco being a direct result of IP dependencies maybe Universal will learn from this and become more weary with certain IP as well as become more lenient towards original content next year, hopefully. You can always gain experience/learn from failure, so next year might have more binding IP contracts and more original content freedom. Who knows, maybe the leash on A&D might be loosened just a bit.

  12. To add to the helpful advice above me, There are many websites that can set up much hype without fail. You can actually find the old HHN websites on a website called horrornights.be I believe.

Our very own frightful and informative Dr. Jimmy has videos on YouTube relating to his recollections of HHN history as well. Speaking of YouTube, there are many vloggers such as TimTracker and MightyThor that have seasonal HHN videos. There are many videos of countless POV walkthroughs of old houses and sacredness, and Attraction Magazine and Inside the Magic show plenty of old HHN videos. They really bring the nostalgia and excitement to newcomers, but hopefully it doesn't set their expectations to high haha.

Well I hope this could be enough.

  13. If they're gonna play metal I'm pretty sure it would be in the queue.

My question is whether or not they will have a queue video. If they did, what would it be about? Something original-like or just FvJ clips?

  14. I think I understand what you guys mean, and if I do then I agree with both of you. I don't want a 3D house if anything related to it is going to be half-assed. If a 3D house is going to be created, then I would want the same devotion and passion that was given to houses like Halloween and Nightingales so that it can be a great house. Please don't misunderstand, I'm all for having a normal house that would have a better chance in being successful, unless A&D is 100% sure that the 3D house that is being made that year will be a fantastic house or at least a sleeper hit.

Also, to compare the In-Between to other great HHN houses would be difficult, because it was really unique in its own way. If I had to compare it to anything, I would compare the house to the other HOTY that it tied with, The Forsaken. There were many factors that contributed to it's success. For one thing, the scenery was beautiful with every detail, and you could almost immediately tell the passion that was put into this project, confident that the designers and creative directors did everything they could to make this perfect. Another key thing was the difference in tone as compared other fun and whimsical (aka decent) 3D houses; but the most important factor was the way they used the 3D nature of the house to its advantage. everything from the scenery to the scares took advantage of the 3D style of the house, and the aggressiveness of the scare actors in that house was a huge plus as well. It had innovation, passion, and originality. It was different. The Forsaken also had beautiful scenery, as well as passion, but it was mainly the aggressiveness the scare actors had later on in the event that led it to tie with the In-Between. When another attempt at a serious 3D house was made in 2013, all we got was another carbon copy of the In-Between, but it was worse since it was half-assed.

My point is that unless they are sure the 3D house being made will be overwhelmingly amazing, or at least solid, they should stick to making solid normal houses. Also what did you mean by 3D done without gimmicks, criticalanalysis? Sorry I don't think I get what you mean there.
