  1. Played Silent Hill: Homecoming for a few hours yesterday and now I am getting excited. I find that the scariest aspect of all horror games is the flashlight. Something about seeing the creepy environment only through the dim, flickering light is terrifying.

  2. Last week I went to Finnegans got a hurricane, then roughly an hour later another hurricane. Let's just say I was fairly drunk, and by fairly I mean really. (I hadn't eaten all day so that contributed a lot). If you're looking for the most bang for your buck I would recommend those, seriously like 80% booze and 20% juice. Make sure you eat first so you're not a drunk fool :)

  3. I would guess only creatures, mainly bc the scary element of Silent Hill is the creatures. I guess it also depeds on where they are drawing inspiration from. In the game the town isn't abandoned right away like in the movie. The town exists with people and all in reality at first, but the protagonist enters the twisted reality of what we know to be Silent Hill. In the movie they have the cult that "lives" there, but I don't think they will play a factor in the house. We might see Alessa, either movie or video game version, but if we see her I doubt it will be in 'human' form.

  4. Vamps were pulled off really nicely (IMO) in shrek alley in '06. I would love to see the statue vampires back... or flyers

My only jump/startle from that year came from a statue scareactor in that sz. I would love to see it back, or some new version of it. I'm excited to see how they can make vampies new.

Im very excited about TWD facade. I know that John Murdy said that the one in Hollywood required a lot of space and is going to be something special so I have no doubt that it will be 'Something Special' in Orlando!

Someone on here saw it on accident the other day, and said the Orlando facade is HUGE as well.

  5. Good for you, for knowing that B79's rehearsals are Thursday, the 13th. I was referring to rehearsals in general which start Sept 3rd. So yes, all of the houses should be completed before that first rehearsal day.

That's not was I was referring to but ok :) No need to be rude, the information I have contradicts yours.

  6. If speculation can include ideas with no basis, then what's the difference between that and Wishful Thinking? In my mind, the whole point of Speculating is to actually figure out what is happening. It's a sleuthing game, and is the only reason I read the boards even long before I joined them. But in figuring something out, that requires that there be a "right" answer. If not, than someone could come in here and say "Nightmare Before Christmas" will be a house because no one can be wrong, regardless of the truth.

Now, I want to reiterate that Lizz and Jimmy made two VERY REVEALING STATEMENTS about streets this year.

Just wanted to throw my 2 cents into this discusson. As someone who is not a veteran to HHN forums, I can say that I avoid posting in the spec thread because there's a pretty good chance someone will just tear your post apart explaining how you are wrong and they are right and they know everything. I haven't seen too many posts that are just guesses based off nothing, and those I have seen are from people who are entirely new to this. You're right when you say the whole point of speculating is to figure the event out, but I think it should be an experience where everyone throws in their ideas based off clues or info. Not everyone is going to guess the right thing based off a clue. One subject or clue could mean so many things to different people. That's what makes it fun and interesting. Unfortunately there are a few that like to ruin it for everyone else, and turn speculating into a place to 'show off' how much they know by shooting peoples ideas down.

On that note I'm really liking the dragon pics, what if they had flying dragons? That would be amazing..

  7. I am also wondering what the facade will be. As a fan of the show I can't really think of one scene that captures the essence of the whole series that they could make into a facade.

Also anyone remember the crawling torso zombie in the park from episode 1? I would love to see that, wouldn't be too diffiuclt to pull off either.

  8. Its like my Fallout: New Vegas dreams have come true! Btw this is a joke before any of you attack me.

Hah, New Vegas is probably the most disappointing game I have ever played. I am surprised by the whole post-apocolyptic theming of the facade, possibly a clue that the event will actually be apcolyptic themed as many have speculated months ago.

  9. I see where you're coming from Mr.Grim. Being a huge Silent Hill fan I would be heartbroken if the characters weren't on point. Especially since many of the characters have distinct looks/movements/attitudes. I have faith that A&D along with Konami will pull it off. I wouldn't be surprised if Uni contacted Patrick Tatopoulos (the creature effects guy who did the movie)
