About Me

Oh hello there. You scared the crap out of me.

My name's Matt (or Pig Coffins, whichever one you like), and I've been a HHN fan since 2005.....sort of.

See, when I went to HHN in 2005, I was 10. I didn't know if my parents really wanted me to enjoy it or just wanted to see me get the living hell scared out of me, but none-the-less, I went. I only remember two things specifically: Being overwhelmingly terrified in Demon Cantina and being overwhelmingly terrified of the people with chainsaws in the scarezones. But besides from that, I don't remember much about that event. Still, that was the event that got me super excited about HHN and horror in general.

Then, I went in 2006, and this time, I went into four houses: Dungeon of Terror, People Under the Stairs, Run: Hostile Territory (my favorite of that year), and Psychoscareapy: Maximum Madness. I remember liking all of the houses that year (even though I was a bit confused during PUTS), and I remember almost pooping my pants during RUN, since (at the time) everything seemed so real to me. By that time, I wasn't just a fan of HHN, I was a JUNKIE.

Then, in 2007, I went and went into ALMOST every house (I missed Vampyr: Blood Bath because my dad thought it looked too weird and my sister thought it looked too scary, so we skipped it). My favorite house that year had to be Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Flesh Wounds. Since I'm already a huge fan of the original and remake, I thought that the house was marvelous in creating the house, mood, and characters from the film. Overall, I thought the event was pretty neat.

2008 was the first year where I went into every single house. And it was a great start, seeing as how I loved every house that year. My favorite would probably have to be Dead Exposure, seeing as how the zombies were coming out at you from the dark and how you didn't know where they were coming from next (also, the lighting effect with the camera flash and sound was very...effective). Another favorite was Creatures, since hillbillies not only scare me (which is why I don't watch "swamp people": I'd have nightmares from that show!), but they also make me laugh. And because I'm a huge fan of the "comedy" houses that HHN put out every year.

2009 was also a very nice year, in that I did all of the houses again (even though I wish I spent more time in some houses than I did in others *cough* Spawning *cough). If I had to pick a favorite, it would probably be Leave it to Cleaver. Not only was it a funny name and concept, but also a really entertaining house (even though I didn't find it funny as much as...well, gross). Another favorite was Silver Screams, if not JUST for the facade alone.

2010 was another great one, as I went into every house and pretty much loved them all (yes, even The Orfanage. I shall don the hat of shame). Probably my favorite was Havoc, since it was really loud and intense, with gunshots going off everywhere and different noises setting off. Overall a great house. I also really dug Psychoscareapy: Echoes of Silence, as I thought that the serious change of pace it took from it's predecessors was a very nice and chilling one. A very nice send-off to the house francise.

2011 was very similar to 2010, in that I liked all of the houses. In fact, it's kind of hard for me to pick an official favorite. But, I still think it would have to be Nevermore: Madness of Poe. I am a HUGE Edgar Allen Poe fan, and going through this house was like getting to live in his settings that he made himself. I think the Tale-Tell Heart room scared me the most, seeing as how I got scared twice in that room by essentially the same scare-actor. Whoever that guy was, bravo.

Well, that raps up my connections to HHN. I hope to have many other great adventures with it, along with Horror Night Nightmares! Oh, and if you're wondering what my name is supposed to mean, you can check out this link: http://www.facebook....316052278434203
