  1. I doubt Despicable Me will be open during HHN. It took like two years to build King Kong; 360 3D & The Transformers Ride.

Yes that's true but both of those were brand new rides that haven't been at any other park, Despicable Me on the other hand was already built in Florida and all the video sequences have been filmed while Kong and Transformers didn't have that advantage.

  2. Alright, I know I've been gone for a while but I'll throw in a little speculation for old times sake. I agree with Freak that no survey could mean good things. It means that John won't have to base a lot of what happens next year on what the GP says in the survey, i.e "Why no Freddy?" "Bring back Leatherface" "I liked SAW better" etc. which could give John and his team a little more freedom with what he wants to do.

  3. well of course if it was your first time through a haunted attraction you would think its amazing but i went through HoH in 2004-2005? in daytime universal so it was a whileeeeeeee..... back lol

now going back every year for Horror Nights seeing the same layout gets boring especially 8 years in a row! lol

but i really appreciate John trying to keep HoH alive i just think it deserves more attention than the other rides and shows

i mean c'mon! Horror is the reason Universal is Alive today!!!

I've been going through HoH since it was the Grinch maze in 2000, I went through the Mummy iteration, Van Helsing and the current one many times. It's basically been the same layout since the Grinch so for me... I've been going through the same frickin' layout for 12 years!

  4. According to Murdy, UMR got rave reviews for its first weekend. Looks like HauntFan and I can't do anything but grit our teeth at this point and get ready for HHN13, Universal Monster Remix: Bust a Move

Crap! Why are we the only ones that hated this thing? I mean, the maze laughed at itself, didn't ATTEMPT to be scary, and even though they sort of gave us our wish of leaving the HoH alone... they ruined anything good about the maze in the first place. I went in the maze with dubstep fans and they hated it. They all said "That sucked, it wasn't even scary" Exactly, people want to get scared or have fun in a maze, not a weird amalgamation of the two that doesn't even work! <_<

Sorry about that rant... But UMR has no place at HHN, ever. But I wouldn't mind if that was the "back by popular demand" maze next year, so we'd at least get other new stuff outside the HoH! ;)

  5. its not an exact copy as Hollywood's house last year. They have their own Art & Design team and we have ours. Even when we share properties (Silent Hilly, NOES, F13, TWD, TCM etc...) the houses are 100% completely different from each other.

They might share the name, but they will never be the same.

Yes, I've been through all the Hollywood houses, and from the videos I've seen from Orlando the houses couldn't be more different. Honestly not even 1 shared scene or design exactly between the 2 parks. But that makes it all the more fun right? :)

  6. If you honestly expect them to put full prosthetics and airbrush makeup on over 90 people, every day, before the event,

I'm sure Hollywood has a hugely different operation altogether, but out here... We staff a full Terror Tram and Walking Dead house with all makeup/prosthetics and no masks whatsoever. Some walkers get an appliance and some other makeup applied, while characters like Bicycle Girl and the Well Walker get very detailed, exactly like the show, makeup and prosthetics done.

  7. First off, Alice Cooper is certainly associated with Horror. No single doubt about it.

Secondly, after watching the walkthroughs from Orlando. I would have happily taken P&T New'kd Vegas over UMR anyday. P&T succeeds in being both amusing and scary, while UMR on the other hand...amusing for all the wrong reasons.

P&T New'kd Las Vegas looks amazing, but I don't think it would fit our event, here in Hollywood.

  8. Well Alice Cooper isnt relly associated to Horror.

Are you freakin' kidding me!!! He has EVERYTHING to do with horror. Look at his albums, his stage shows and his persona, all more horrifying than Penn & Teller...

^Of course he is. All of his albums are heavy in horror themes and his entire show plays out like a cheesy horror film. Alice is totally a horror icon.

Thanks instamatic, I knew somebody would be on my side. It's like say Freddy Kruger doesn't have anything to do with horror.
