  1. I think it's like episode 6 or something.

From the micechat update, the facade is turning out well but it makes me think... Does this maze look big or is it just me? The tent looks about the size of last years TWD maze, which was pretty big. That gets me a little more excited for this :)

  2. ^im sure they'll use some of it, but I doubt it will be the full christmas display plus hhn stuff. They (hopefully) have some specific scary christmas props. Who thinks they'll use those giant alphabet blocks that always pop up?? If they still have them, of course

  3. ^I don't know anything about being a scareactor but that sounds fun. It sounds like getting street treatment albeit without much of the freedom, but without the hassle and possible harassment of guests, and the traffic of the Terror Tram without being in the middle of nowhere surrounded by dust and what seems to be an unpleasant place to work (but I really don't have the experience to be for sure). Good luck this year :)

  4. It's a little hard to believe a thread like this doesn't exist (somebody delete it if there is haha), but it kind of intrigued me to think about what events you would visit or revisit if you could only pick one from Hollywood. Pre-Hiatus years are obviously included.

    Pre-Hiatus

    2000

I think the year with Rob Zombie, Clive Barker and Buffy/Angel? I would love to have been there to see it and see how the event worked once it figured itself out before (sadly) being placed on hiatus. Also I'd love to see what a disaster Undertaker was.

    Post-Hiatus

    2008

I was torn between 2006, 2008, and 2009. I only got to see 2009 (my favorite event I've been to, still), but I would've liked to see how it all started in 2006, and was meaning to go, but I'm basically technologically challenged and couldn't figure out how to get tickets online back then lol. But then I thought about 2008 - the third year of Horror Nights. Three powerhouse mazes, 6 actually new feeling scarezones, and a few live shows. I'd be a fool not to want to go back and see that. It feels like that was the year HHN Hollywood really found their footing and excelled beyond anything preceding it.

    What do you guys think?

  5. I think I need another year of mazes to decide on these new batch of venues. However, 747 has the best potential. Metro set 1 (where TWD is) somehow managed to get a lot of height in that maze. And Parisian square, so far, kinda just sucks if the environment doesn't fit the outside environment. I really wish they'd reverse it by putting the maze in the plaza with the queue in the square. Hopefully next year, when the plaza isn't so new and the fountains inevitably stop working and the whole place has lost its purpose.

I totally agree with this but I doubt they'll ever do a maze in the plaza :\

  6. I just realized they could almost use the same queue as the old Terminator venue if they decide on putting a maze in the globe. Start in SSF, wrap around the showbuilding, and go straight across to the Globe. It's almost perfect! The show area in there is huge too, almost on par with SS 747, just not quite that big. It could really work and be a solid addition. Let's keep our fingers crossed :) haha

Edit: Or is this not possible? I haven't visited since DM opened so I'm not even sure that area is still usable. Does anybody know if this would even work?

  7. Hey everyone. As we all know, House of Horrors is retiring to the theme park graveyard at the end of this month. Face/Off, being the last maze, could hopefully send it off nicely (much like TWD did for WWW and La Lloronas for Shrek, but we know it can't ever be THAT good). But this has got me thinking...

Next year, with the loss of the venue, we're down to 6 mazes, only one on the entire upper lot. I'm certain they wouldn't reduce the number of mazes next year, especially if the events success continues as it has in years past. So they would need a new spot to put said maze. It'd be easy to just stick another one on the backlot but then the event would feel really unbalanced.

So my question is where, on the upper lot, could they make up for this loss? I've thought, after stepping inside of it for the first time, the globe theater could work very well as a maze venue. With all the changes at the event in the last few years, it doesn't seem that far of a stretch. The eyegores aren't really relevant as far as I know (do they even have them this year?) but that solves the conflict that seemed to make the idea of a maze in the globe dead in the water.

So what do you guys think? Could the globe work? Will it even be there by the time 2015 rolls around? Is there another spot on the upper lot?

    Discuss away (hopefully)...

  8. ^True but in Breaking Bad... *cough* they cooked meth from episode one, and the violence started right away. Most (good) compelling TV shows are able to take their time with storytelling and, at the same time, burn through enough interesting story to keep the viewer engaged, at least. But then again I don't think FDTD was ever hoping for an Emmy or anything haha

  9. I never EVER listen to guns and roses because I cannot stand listening to a bunch of corporate puppets spewing sexist and obnoxious lyrics... However, that's more of my problem with the Asshole. Er, I mean axl... But slash always seemed like a cool guy and he's a terrific guitar player, more than perfect for scoring something like this. Long story short, I'm glad we're moving away from band mazes and actually having what could potentially be an extremely unique and effective collaboration. Thanks Universal for not forcing this to be something it isn't. :)
