what she meant was even though it is on the Universal website you still cannot add the items to your cart yet (except the shooter one is working for me)
oh ok, I didnt see that, I really would like for them to let you buy it though, they got some good items at the store website
-
Sorry if this has already been mentioned. Has anyone else noticed that you can't buy any of the merchandise listed in the online store yet? Just happened to be looking around and I found it strange the I got an error message when for every single item when I was browsing around. I'm guessing they won't officially be on sale until Friday.
actually they got the merchandise website up for Universal Studios Store and they got some really cool items too I like the shirts heres the website: http://www.universalorlando.com/Merchandise/ProductList.aspx?q=Halloween

I'm so glad I have ppl coming with me who always go to Howl O' Scream... you won't see this type of production there. This will blow them away
yeah I agree, HOS aint nothing compared to HHN we got the title nation wide event, we got the best houses, best scares and mostly more professional scare actors, cant wait only 3 days left for opening

When it comes to the roof discussion I see both sides. Universal puts on a fantastic event year after year. The Scareactors and designers give everything they have to make each year better than the last. It doesn't mean I can't hope for roofs on houses, I have the right be disappointed when the house doesn't have a roof. HHN as a whole is great, I just feel with a roof the immersion factor is better. Without roofs I do sometimes get taken out of the experience because I naturally like to look up. It's not that big of a deal though. Roofs or no roofs I will continue to believe that HHN is the best event in the country. The sets are the most important thing and I think we can all agree they are top notch every year. This house seems to be an amazingly designed house and I can't wait to experience it with or without a roof.
those are true words and like maximum madness stated, everyone has their right for an opinion, for me I never even bother to look up for roofs cause like alot of people on here said, im too busy looking at everything else in the house

Bleh. I'll just have to cover my eyes then. Shouldn't be too bad if I don't get stuck standing there for a while.
and as long as you dont drink, or drink too much if you drink alcohol, and if you dont well, I hope you dont have motion sickness
-
well I just watched the HHN Tweetup and they showed a pic of what the hoodie is going to look like and it has the Halloween Horror Nights 21 emblem on the front of the hoodie, its a zip-up one too, theyll also be selling HHN 21 hats too so that seems interesting, ill try to get one maybe if they dont sell out

I know that there will probably be a spinning tunnel thing somewhere in the house, but I hope that there isn't. Those tend to make me really sick and confused, but not in the fun way. Like how you would feel if you went rolling down a hill right after a big meal. Sure, I can close my eyes, but when there's a conga line, I can be standing there with my eyes squeezed shut for a while. I'd just much rather something else be there.
On a more positive note, I am super pumped for the 3D effects in this house. I'm hoping that they will be unlike anything we've seen.
i think they will put a spinning tunnel since the cover of the haunted house is shown as like a vortex sucking in random things, theyll add it as an effect, but I know what you mean it can make certain people sick, who knows maybe they will add something else besides the spinning tunnel

If it's $50, I am expecting a quality hoodie (or is it actually a jacket?). Hopefully they wont give us some thin material with a janky zipper.
yeah me too, hope the design looks good too with the mazes on the back like they did in 2006, I thought that looked good
-
I have to be honest I wasn't too excited about this house... but now that I've heard them talk about the effects I'm actually excited about a 3D house.
the costumes in this one look real good, im also excited for this house cause this will be my first year in a 3D house, didnt get the chance to see the 3D house back in 2007 though its all good, cant wait for this year, all the houses are looking very good
-
They haven't really gone all out since 07' and the Carnival of Carnage. They added a ticket booth for 09' but that really really the most they added. I'm not expecting anything else to go up. I would like some red curtains and chains though, like in Sting Alley. Wishful thinking.
yeah the carnival of carnage had a real cool entrance and so did 2009, it was alright last year but it wasnt like in 2007 though, but im not sure for this year, we still got about 5 days left until the first opening so I guess we can just hope something else will set the mood for the event but Im really looking forward to what the houses will be like this year cant wait, also looking good with the pics being posted

Is this house in the ship or a fort or both?
seems a little like both cause in their description it talks about ship wreck and a fort, so I think you first go through the wrecked ship then the main parts are in the fort.

Wow Scareactors with deadly weapons now that's scary. I don't think we'll see those flamethrowers (cool if we did though) but I agree they should extend the zone by adding actors on either side of the canyon itself. Also I hope they don't just leave it black. I was hoping it had some sort of canyon look like red rocks or something instead of just being black.
yeah, that would make it more interesting and more of the feel type to the scare zone, hope it is longer though cause like you guys said, it would be a little boring to walk through a scare zone in 30 seconds and your done with it, it wouldnt be that fun cause HHN is all about scares and having fun.
-
You know, that's exactly what I picture as well. So... kinda fun, but nothing special. Of course, we could be blown away. Stranger things have happened
yeah, I agree with you, also not only that but Saw's N Steam and RUN are both chainsaw houses, although RUN is like Hostel and is more of the torturing type house but I dont know, well find out what it looks like, cant wait to see how good the houses will be this year.
-
So just to put some food for thought out there: House will have two chainsaws at least. And the concept art of the blade table is for another house.
you know this house might be similar to the RUN house back in 2006 at HHN sweet 16
-
well you guys gotta remember that Halloween Horror Nights is a nation wide event and maybe people from certain places like New York, Memphis, or even outer countries it has cold weather so they wanna buy a HHN hoody to have as a merchandise and just to represent it in a way.
-
only difference is freddy kreuger was burned to death
yeah, the skin does look similar though, Im hoping the scare actors will look burned or bloody since the theme is acid rain, we will find out though soon.

I've seen 3 of the PsychoScarepy's and I can genuinely say the 3 I have seen are all solid, good houses, but they don't live up to PS:MM.
I will say this though, you did see a particularly good house that year. I am a huge fan of PsychoPath and wish they would bring that back, but, I don't think we will be seeing that for years.
As far as one house, that delivered the most on scares, overall, via my multiple run throughs is 100% Body Collectors 2. Every time I would go through that house I would easily get 2 or 3 scares. One of my all time favorite houses for that reason. Also the spine scene was just glorious.
yeah the Psycho Path house was pretty scary, had nice props and things like that, I went in the PsychoScareapy Echoes Of Shady Brook house last year in 2010 but I really wanted to go into the PsychoScareapy Maximum Madness but its all good, I cant wait for this year.
-
Am i the only one that notices those black Curtains? out of curiosity, are scareactores gonna be jumping out of them randomly?
probably, I have seen it before in the scare zones in the past, they either will pop out at you or their will be someone moving it in some way

PsychoScarepy: Maximum Madness-The whole house really scared the shit out of me to be honest. This was my first year and that house just got to me. 2 great moments. I remember walking through and Jack scaring me from like a cut out hole like below walking distance. Scared the shit out of me. As well there was a girl with a doll, and she kept petting it saying "Want to pet my dolly?" and I went to pet it and she just said "NO! Dolly doesn't like you." and for whatever reason that just stuck with me and was just so perfect for that situation.
American Gothic- one of those guys with a garden type tool scraped it across the gravel in front of me and that was the first and the last time I instinctively screamed. So kudos to that actor. Albeit, I don't remember screaming. I do have two witnesses.
Favorite scare moment was when I went through The Thing 4 times in a row all by myself.
Other than that nothing REALLY stands out.
man I really wanted to go into PsychoScareapy but I was so scared and I was only 11 years old and the only houses I went into were PsychoPath and Dungeon Of Terror, but if I could go back and go in that house I would cause I heard that PsychoScareapy Maximum Madness was one of the best of the whole PsychoScareapy houses

I'm down with some flogging if necessary.
Oh, I can guarantee people complain about being scared. But anyone who is stupid enough to complain about being scared at a Halloween event deserves to smacked very hard.
Universal isn't about to change the overall concept of this event for such a mind numbingly silly reason!
yeah, I agree thats why they call it Halloween Horror Nights and they even got the warnings that it may be too intense so if they get scared or if their child gets scared then, well, I guess you came for what you asked for and thats to be scared but also have fun, thats what it's about.
-
and not just the rude teens either, but Hell Week of course is infamous for it's increased amount of drunkies who try to attack scareactors and other guests too.
yeah that too, that is why I dont want to go to HHN on a Hell Week, I dont mind being alot of people (just not too much) but just how the people are, its all about scares and fun not fights and not being able to get scared cause someone keeps yelling or saying the scare actors suck and stuff like that
-
I hope this house is trippy as hell
I know me too, they might be putting in that spinning tunnel or portal but I am not sure yet, guess well find out when we get there.

for me , i would go through the scarezones again. But thats my personal opinion. While the shows are good, your there for the scares and not shows. So get your moneys worth and enjoy yourself walking htrough the screzones not feeling rushed ! but again, just my opinion.
I would also go in the haunted houses again if you didnt do that but yeah I agree, I would mostly stay in scare zones or go in another haunted house, shows are ok and funny but like he said its all about the scares
