So would being in the parade building rule out any use of real fire for Michael's "fiery end"? My inner pyromaniac would love to see some real fire in the house, but considering they haven't used any since what Cindy's house was called (I missed that year, but remember it being reported), I'm not holding out hope.

Yep. Orfanage had fire cause parts of the old Jaws extended queue were mostly open-air.

  2. Haha, I think you've overthought that a lot.

It's a simple sub-title that makes sense knowing how the movie ends. I don't think the fans or general public will be that confused, considering the fact that all the press releases and blog state pretty clearly that it's based on the original sequel to Halloween. Remember that even though a house may be based on an established property, that every house HHN does is still their own interpretation.

I want to see real fire in a house. Granted, the fire effects they use on TWDA in USH look amazing on video so i'm sure its even better in person. Hopefully they will use that type of effect if they don't have real fire.

This was the first thing I thought of when I was wondering how'd they pull it off with out using real fire like Orfanage. It's very convincing looking.

  4. ORLANDO, Fla., UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. (July 7, 2016) – Fans may have thought it was over, but he’s still out there. This fall, Michael Myers will make his return to Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights in an all-new maze inspired by the second film in the classic horror series, “Halloween.”

The iconic horror film sequel continues the story of masked killer, Michael Myers, as he stalks an entire town and relentlessly pursues his victims. Now, his focus turns to guests as Universal joins forces with Compass International Pictures to bring the haunting film’s most suspenseful and terrifying moments to life at Halloween Horror Nights.

At both Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood, Michael Myers returns in Halloween: Hell Comes to Haddonfield – a maze that’s bigger and filled with more menacing scare-actors than the original, top-rated “Halloween” maze. It will begin with the final scene from “Halloween,” where Michael Myers is presumed dead after falling from a bedroom window – only to disappear from the ground. Guests will dodge Myers’ lethal knife at every turn as they step into iconic scenes from the film – all culminating in a horrifying finale.

Here's the official Close Up blog that Mike wrote about the announcement. UO Close-Up Blog.

When you say "official", do you mean via the official HHN website, twitter, etc.,  or do you mean officially you've been told behind the scenes? I doubt they'd come right out with a public confirmation that they're toning down the event, especially when they could change of bunch of stuff and the gp wouldn't notice anyways.

Official, as in from Universal directly.

It is confirmed that we will be getting one this year. I forget the source I found it on, BUT I will post it here once I find it.

Remember, nothing's confirmed until it's officially confirmed.

I love 3D houses, but i'm hoping this one isn't. I'm hoping for a more gritty, unnerving house.

"While Jack’s away, Chance has unleashed the horrors of her imagination. Her twisted delusions and reality are continuously blurred in a 3D playground of carnage. When the music box plays, the world shifts to her sinister theatre of the mind. But when the alarm starts ringing, Chance is thrown back into the brutal reality of her incarceration."

Yeah so... Not sure how I feel about that decision. I wonder how they're going to incorporate her into the event??? Will she be getting her own show? Will she be leading a roaming horde? Will they just be using her to market the event?

I wonder if tickets are going on sale tomorrow along with the announcement.

I wouldn't be surprised if we got a longer video, logo, tickets on sale, and minor website overlay tomorrow.

DO NOT skip a house you really want to see bc of the lines. Get there when the gates open and run to the house. Literally run. I get the fast pass every year and any house I want to make sure to see twice in a night this is what I do. Run to it, then save the fast pass run for later.

    Sums it up pretty well.

I usually tell friends that come to the event that stay and scream is their best friend, even if you have an express. Majority of the time you can knock out two to three houses less than an hour after gate open, letting you loosen your schedule a bit for the rest of night for shows or repeat runs. (..or finnegans)

Could they stop with any "Latino" myths? There's enough in the US they should focus on. It does not translate as equally as here.

Maybe not for yourself, but considering both California and Florida have huge Hispanic/Latin American populations and fan base, I think they're translating fine.

As for AHS, I've said it before, but I can't imagine us getting that property as long as Walking Dead is still being used.

Happy to hear Purge won't be a house!

Agree with those bold houses, criticalanalysis...except for Hitchcock. I understand why you guys wouldn't want it, but as a big Hitchcock fan-and having just watched 20 of his films in the past several months-I'd be happy to see creative give it a stab.

Couldn't agree with you more. Hitchcock is fantastic and I've been a big fan of HHN's previous Psycho themed houses.

  12. Discuss all things pertaining to The Exorcist in here!

ORLANDO, Fla., UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. (April 26, 2016) – For the first time ever, supernatural thriller, The Exorcist, will take possession of “Halloween Horror Nights” in all-new horrifying mazes opening at Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort beginning this September.

The twisted minds behind the nation’s best, most intense Halloween events will bring to life one of the scariest and most nightmare-inducing horror films in history.

At Universal Orlando Resort, guests will see, hear, feel – and even smell – every iconic levitating, head-spinning, vomit-wrenching, skin-crawling moment from the film. They’ll be paralyzed with fear as they witness the power of the supernatural, scream uncontrollably as they become part of Regan MacNeil’s possession and run in terror as they try to escape the horrific battle between innocence and evil.

Universal Studios Hollywood’s “The Exorcist” maze will resonate as a real life interpretation of the demonic film, daring “Halloween Horror Nights’” guests to live the nightmare experienced by a tortured Regan and her determined mother. The maze will recreate some of the film’s most haunting scenes, ushering guests into its unparalleled terror as if their very souls were possessed by the devil.

Revered as one of the scariest movies of all-time, The Exorcist earned its place in history as the first horror film nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture. Directed by William Friedkin, the film also established itself as leading influence in pop culture horror, affecting a multitude of subsequent films since its terrifying debut in 1973.

Universal Studios’ “Halloween Horror Nights” is the ultimate Halloween event. For more than 20 years, guests from around the world have visited “Halloween Horror Nights” in Orlando and Hollywood to become victims inside their own horror film. The streets of each coast’s event are transformed into highly-themed scare zones where menacing “scare-actors” lunge from every darkened corner. Multiple movie-quality haunted houses are erected throughout the event, based on anything from iconic slasher films to hit horror television series to haunting original stories.

Additional details about Universal Studios’ “Halloween Horror Nights” will be revealed soon. For more information about Halloween Horror Nights at either Universal Orlando Resort or Universal Studios Hollywood, visit www.HalloweenHorrorNights.com.
