^ I had no doubt of les then 6 mazes... I wonder if with all the construction we could see the return of mazes in the parking garage...

Why don't you do something crazy, like I dunno, actually watch the movies and form your own opinion on them, instead of just falling back on things said by the endless amount of self proclaimed "experts" on the Internet. I'm sorry if I'm coming across blunt, but I think if you haven't seen a movie, you don't have any place to make any kind of argument for or against it.I need to see Cabin In The Woods and Evil Dead. Actually, I need to see most of the horror films that were mentioned in this forum.
And also, I did some research and I heard CITW/Evil Dead are similar films.
Why does everyone want both if there said to be almost identical in a way?
For all I heard, looked up and know I personally don't want either film to be at HHN as of now.
And @ferfox... Murdy has said that he has always wanted to get ahold of the rights to The Exorcist, so every year everyone speculates if this is the year he finally does it lol. Hey, he did say in his tweet that there is a property they are working with that he has always wanted to do

A property that fans want... a property he isn't familiar with... Cabin In The Woods? It's been speculated on a little, and around Halloween last year Murdy said he still had not seen it.

I'm freakin tired of rockers. If Alice Cooper in Wonderland doesn't pan out, I honestly will be a bit relieved although that idea does strike me as quite unique. If we could get back to good ol' fashioned horror, please, that'd be very kind!
You took the words right out of my mouth

^ I believe they did, but at the time Universal still owned the rights to HOTC and were planning on releasing it. Of course then Rob Zombie bought the film from them and Lions Gate ended up releasing it.
-
^ well, HOTC had about 7 years between it's theatrical release and it's appearance at HHN... And in that time it had gained a large following as a cult classic.
-
^ I can pretty much say there is probably only a 0.00001% chance of Lords Of Salem being at HHN. What really is working against it is that Anchor Bay confirmed that it was only getting a limited theatrical release this April, so the property recognition will be very low, and as such I don't see Murdy really working with it at all.
-
^ it was never said how long Knott's has the rights. However, there is a history of Knott's using Sony properties multiple years (Grudge) and early rumors coming outta Knott's having been pointing to Knott's doing a full Evil Dead maze this year instead of limiting the property to the Log Flume layover. Of course this is just a rumor, but it makes sense, and with the history of collaboration between Sony and Knott's (Grudge, Quarantine) I just could not see Sony running to Universal with the rights to Evil Dead this year after giving them to Knott's last year. And I couldn't see Sam Raimi going behind Sony's back, if Knott's still has the rights, and giving the rights to the original to Universal. Sam is producing the remake for Sony, and that could cause bad blood.
-
^ Frightdome and HHN aren't competeing events like Knott's and Universal are though.

^ I was assuming they were going to try an narrow it down to a "tentative offical" line up this week before he's gone for 5 weeks.
-
^ that's an interesting theory. I'd enjoy an extra challenge. However, if that does happen, then we could most def rule the Queen of Hearts out as a clue, it's way to obvious lol. Which is one reason why a lot of people jumped onto it.
-
No idea. I hope he doesn't.
But I'll throw some speculation into the mix. Last year the first hint Murdy gave (Dante's Inferno) was in reference to Alice Cooper Goes to Hell. This year the first hint he gave was a Queen of Hearts, which is commonly associated with Alice in Wonderland. It would make sense that the first confirmed maze could be the end of the Alice Cooper trilogy. Since Murdy said the third maze would be the most complex, recreating an Alice Cooper style Wonderland would be pretty complex. Especially if they were working under the premise that this was the final chapter in a series of original concept mazes so they really had to make it something special.
Or it could be a total red herring.
I wouldnt call the Queen of Hearts a hint... Not yet at least. Last year, Dante's Inferno was clearly a hint he gave us. The Queen of Hearts is something people took as a hint because he choose it as a card during some game he was playing on twitter. I'd be careful and not look into the Queen Of Hearts thing to much yet. John is on the record of being a huge fan of Alice In Wonderland, so that whole queen of hearts thing could have simply been his geek coming out to play. And John is known to be a carny. He knows exactly what to say or post to cause fans heads to spin lol.
It started with comments Murdy made about being frustrated about the mazes leaking early last year, however he was talking about leaks from official sources inside Universal and those associated with the event, like Alice Copper who leaked maze. It picked up more steam when it was announced that Murdy and his wife are expecting and that he would on vaca for 5 weeks starting next week, a time when the code names and hint normally start.
-
This week could be the very tell tale on whether we will be getting code names. We got the first code name last year on Feb 9th I believe... And after this upcoming week, John is off for 5 weeks (though, he could very well drop hints via twitter I guess). I'm leaning to the possibility of no code names, but I gotta admit, I'm secretly hoping for the best.

There cats! There I said it ;-) Wait... Is there even such a thing as werecats? I know of werepanthers haha!

^ Which I don't get... Treehouse of Horror is a Simpsons tradition. You'd think FOX would be totally on board. I think there has to be more to the story over why FOX didn't like the idea that we haven't heard.
-
Well, TWD wasn't the first TV IP used at HHNH, it was just the first one under Murdy's direction. The first TV IP would be the Buffy and Angel mazes YEARS ago. A lot of people do seem to want AHS... I think it could work for maze material, but at this point I'm not sure how likely it will be. We have very little to go so far to really back up anything we speculate about.

^ And hopefully stronger lol. The La Llorona puppets took quite a beating last year.
So I watched the following...could be a maze. It has a lot of cool enviorments that could be used, but as said before, not many cool characters. I could only see the ice pick girl and the Edgar Allan Poe mask guy
Firstly, I love the show! Secondly, I think it's very unlikely we will see anything from The Following at HHN. While the first 2 episodes have performed very well in the ratings, a lot can happen over the remainder of its first season run that could cause it to be cancelled and not return in the fall. It would be a big risk to settle with a property for a maze that could be obsolete come September (Though I really hope it doesn't!!!)

Here are some photos taken by my younger sister (she's only 17! She clearly got the talent in the family lol) for her portfolio she's putting together for the art school she wants to attend.

Well, Hooper does have a history with Murdy. And your right, some of the things they could do special effects wise would be awesome! I could even see them going beyond the movie and taking you "through the tv" into the land of the spirits. The only small hiccup I see would be a conflict with Insidious. There are a number of signs pointing to Insidious being used this year, and the two movies share a LOT in common that I couldn't see them using both. But hey, for all we know we are way off base with Insidious!
-
We will most likely never see another Scream attraction at HHNH while Murdy is in charge. He didn't even want to do the Scream terror tram, but was pressured into it by the Universal bosses.
-
^ I'm with you on all of that... Except for the Newborn from Alien: Resurrection lol. The Alien films have been filled with great creature effects and designs, but the newborn is not one of them. IMO its easly the weakest point creature wise in the entire franchise.

^ I'm aware of that lol. I was just expressing in what way I was most hoping it would mean.
-
I'm assuming when he says new to HHN he means new to HHNH? Because HHNO has used many unique concepts, probably my favorite being the camera flash concept in Dead Exposure, a concept that I would love to see at HHNH. That maze is easly in my list of top 5 favorite HHN mazes ever. But regardless, I do hope he means more concept as in how the maze is presented and experienced.

And it went up against The Grammy's. That just proves how much of a popular show it is. I'm now more then ever willing to bet it all on TWD returning.
