  1. I need to see Cabin In The Woods and Evil Dead. Actually, I need to see most of the horror films that were mentioned in this forum.

And also, I did some research and I heard CITW/Evil Dead are similar films.

Why does everyone want both if there said to be almost identical in a way?

For all I heard, looked up and know I personally don't want either film to be at HHN as of now.

Why don't you do something crazy, like I dunno, actually watch the movies and form your own opinion on them, instead of just falling back on things said by the endless amount of self proclaimed "experts" on the Internet. I'm sorry if I'm coming across blunt, but I think if you haven't seen a movie, you don't have any place to make any kind of argument for or against it.

And @ferfox... Murdy has said that he has always wanted to get ahold of the rights to The Exorcist, so every year everyone speculates if this is the year he finally does it lol. Hey, he did say in his tweet that there is a property they are working with that he has always wanted to do

  2. ^ it was never said how long Knott's has the rights. However, there is a history of Knott's using Sony properties multiple years (Grudge) and early rumors coming outta Knott's having been pointing to Knott's doing a full Evil Dead maze this year instead of limiting the property to the Log Flume layover. Of course this is just a rumor, but it makes sense, and with the history of collaboration between Sony and Knott's (Grudge, Quarantine) I just could not see Sony running to Universal with the rights to Evil Dead this year after giving them to Knott's last year. And I couldn't see Sam Raimi going behind Sony's back, if Knott's still has the rights, and giving the rights to the original to Universal. Sam is producing the remake for Sony, and that could cause bad blood.

  3. No idea. I hope he doesn't.

But I'll throw some speculation into the mix. Last year the first hint Murdy gave (Dante's Inferno) was in reference to Alice Cooper Goes to Hell. This year the first hint he gave was a Queen of Hearts, which is commonly associated with Alice in Wonderland. It would make sense that the first confirmed maze could be the end of the Alice Cooper trilogy. Since Murdy said the third maze would be the most complex, recreating an Alice Cooper style Wonderland would be pretty complex. Especially if they were working under the premise that this was the final chapter in a series of original concept mazes so they really had to make it something special.

Or it could be a total red herring.

I wouldnt call the Queen of Hearts a hint... Not yet at least. Last year, Dante's Inferno was clearly a hint he gave us. The Queen of Hearts is something people took as a hint because he choose it as a card during some game he was playing on twitter. I'd be careful and not look into the Queen Of Hearts thing to much yet. John is on the record of being a huge fan of Alice In Wonderland, so that whole queen of hearts thing could have simply been his geek coming out to play. And John is known to be a carny. He knows exactly what to say or post to cause fans heads to spin lol.

It started with comments Murdy made about being frustrated about the mazes leaking early last year, however he was talking about leaks from official sources inside Universal and those associated with the event, like Alice Copper who leaked maze. It picked up more steam when it was announced that Murdy and his wife are expecting and that he would on vaca for 5 weeks starting next week, a time when the code names and hint normally start.

  4. Well, TWD wasn't the first TV IP used at HHNH, it was just the first one under Murdy's direction. The first TV IP would be the Buffy and Angel mazes YEARS ago. A lot of people do seem to want AHS... I think it could work for maze material, but at this point I'm not sure how likely it will be. We have very little to go so far to really back up anything we speculate about.

  5. ^ And hopefully stronger lol. The La Llorona puppets took quite a beating last year.

So I watched the following...could be a maze. It has a lot of cool enviorments that could be used, but as said before, not many cool characters. I could only see the ice pick girl and the Edgar Allan Poe mask guy

Firstly, I love the show! Secondly, I think it's very unlikely we will see anything from The Following at HHN. While the first 2 episodes have performed very well in the ratings, a lot can happen over the remainder of its first season run that could cause it to be cancelled and not return in the fall. It would be a big risk to settle with a property for a maze that could be obsolete come September (Though I really hope it doesn't!!!)

  6. Well, Hooper does have a history with Murdy. And your right, some of the things they could do special effects wise would be awesome! I could even see them going beyond the movie and taking you "through the tv" into the land of the spirits. The only small hiccup I see would be a conflict with Insidious. There are a number of signs pointing to Insidious being used this year, and the two movies share a LOT in common that I couldn't see them using both. But hey, for all we know we are way off base with Insidious!

  7. I'm assuming when he says new to HHN he means new to HHNH? Because HHNO has used many unique concepts, probably my favorite being the camera flash concept in Dead Exposure, a concept that I would love to see at HHNH. That maze is easly in my list of top 5 favorite HHN mazes ever. But regardless, I do hope he means more concept as in how the maze is presented and experienced.
