  1. Ok we know it's not the Exorcist, or Alien... Let's put it all together first. " TRICKSTER" 。 Originated from a book. 。 Has three different time periods (Medieval, Victorian, and Early 20th century) 。 Has to do with something Satanic 。 It's from the 1800's 。 It hasn't been requested a lot 。 We all know about it Anybody add more to help with the codename.
Don't confuse what Murdy is saying. He never said it originated from a book, he said it was "strangely inspired" by a book. Just look at lasts years "inspired by Dick Smith" to see what I mean. And another thing... Just because he says he grew up with it doesnt mean it's from the 1800's... I'm still trying to figure out that logic, it just doesn't make sense. Realistically, it could be anything from mid-late 1970's and still be considered something he grew up with. We do know he was in high school in the mid-80's. And hey, for all we know he stretching the meaning of "growing up" to include his highschool and college years... Lord knows I do it sometimes.
  2. Lady's and gentlemen, we have a code name. Murdy gave his "surprise" maze the code name "Trickster." The way he made it sound, he gave it a code name because he's been tweeting about it a lot and wanted a shorter way to refer to it, so I wouldn't get your hopes up yet for code names for the rest just yet, though this could point to getting more. He said to watch out for a possible hint about "Trickster" later today.

  3. Does Tales From the Crypt ever take place in those time periods?

"Tales" is an anthology, and between the movies, TV show, comics and cartoon I'm sure there has been stories from those time periods. If we were going to have a "Tales" maze, I could actually see it being semi original maze using original story ideas and scenes with the Crypt Keeper to tie them together.

  4. ^ I think Orlando incorporated Robby better though. For us, we just had a black walled room with a small Lakeside poster and a couple benches with "fake Robby's" and one actor Robby. That and the facade really were the only complaints I had about the maze as a whole.

In other news, bloody-disgusting has an article up were someone from Universal is talking about the success of "Mama" and that the studio is looking at the property as a possible horror franchise opportunity. Seems like Universal fells good about the fan response from the film. Could this factor in to possibly seeing it at HHN?

  5. I don't know, Was silent Hill not well received because it was not recognized? or because it was not a very good maze? I mean, La llorona is kind of an original concept. not every maze has to be movie related, what I mean by that is that Silent Hill could have been liked by people if they did a better job. I don't know, I'm just thinking about the Orlando event as well. the house here was not great either
I'm was just stating what Murdy said. I'm sure they have info, like in park survey's, that they used to obtain that info. Silent Hill is rather different then your normal horror fair, so I could understand people who don't know the property not understanding the maze or it's design elements and not enjoying it as much. On the flip side, La Llorona worked so well because of heavily influenced Mexican culture here in SoCal. Personally, I loved our Silent Hill maze. Some of the design element could have used some work, but the talent inside was ON FIRE the night I attended.

  6. ^ I think the main reason it's so unlikely is that Murdy made a comment about Silent Hill not being well received with the gp because the property recognition was low... Not only is Silent Hill one of the most well known horror videos games out there amoung gamers, it also had a movie adaptation in theaters at the time. So if gp recognition was so low even with a video game brand like Silent Hill, I don't think Dead Space stands a chance.

  7. Keep in mind, these aren't the official mazes, so no need to blow our wads just yet. Both could end up being cut

Very true. It's been fun reading into his clues a bit, but at the end of the day, I try to keep myself in the mindset that we really know nothing and anything can end up making the cut. I trust Murdy to delivery the best mazes he can, so I'm not going to stress about it. I think for me, the biggest thing I want to hear about is whether they have any plans on more shows and anything else they may do, whether it be add more days ect., to help with overcrowding. AND I want a here more on this rumor about HoH getting a makeover sometime before HHN this year!

    And post #400!

  8. Ohhhhhh I haven't been reading the tweets so I wouldn't know. you guys are posting it weird. Guess I'll have to take a look myself to get it right! This is why copying and pasting exact words is VERY useful and prob should be the ONLY way we report what Murdy says. Otherwise, as you can see, things are very easy to get lost in translation.
Yeah, I started really getting confused based on how everyone was posting the tweets. Readine his twitter myself didn't really help much either though lol
Rented Cabin In The Woods, bout to watch it and see if it's HHN material like everyone says ;)
Woo Hoo! I'm sure you will love it. It's a great movie.

  9. So the "Hell" comment couldn't be The Exorcist then... Though the other one could still be. That leave the hell of a maze/grew up with/hadn't been suggested/well known/he's never met the person who owns the rights maze as you put it has to be something completely different. Still holding out for Black Christmas LOL! Yeah, it won't happen, but I can dream.

  10. I know we have discussed Alien here on the forums, but does anyone remember ever asking Murdy about it? Or seeing/hearing anyone else suggest it? Just wondering... The only things I've heard so far is "someone had to of mentioned it'" but no confirmation if anyone actually had. I don't ever remember reading anything like it on his twitter, but then its not like he respondes to all his tweets, and I am still rather new to HHNH so I've missed a few years of discussions lol.

Still stand by what I said earlier though, I think it getting more and more tedious to try and follow these hints any further... Guess that makes me a hypocrite hu? LMAO

First response is The Exorcist. It's been one of the more sought after IPs for years.

Quit right... And last year during code name season, Murdy's twitter exploded with Poltregiest talk after it was hinted that Tobe Hooper was involved.

  11. My three estimates on this so far are Poltregeist, The Blob, and The Fog.

Poltergeist and The Blob have both been suggested though... I remember clearly Murdy talking with people about both on twitter... And that's my point, it could be anything. Just about any popular horror movie from that time, one of us at some point knows it has been discussed with Murdy... Or at least we are pretty sure it has been. At this point, that hint is pretty much a dead end.

  12. I know Alien's been mentioned a lot.

So have almost all of the other properties mentioned. Unfortunately guys, this is going to be one that we probably won't crack based on those clues. If it really is a popular IP like he said, it's going to be hard to believe it HADN'T been suggested. And therefor we will probably just keep running in circles.

  13. I'm not so sure it's Poltergiest, if only because a lot of people were talking about it on John's twitter last year if I remember correctly. I have another possibility I know a lot of people here would LOVE to see and I'm surprised hasn't been added to the list yet! I'm pretty sure John hasn't worked with any of the directors from the films in the series and the original was released in the late 70's... Alien! The idea of the work it would take to bring the aliens, face huggers, ect to life could be enough to make him worried about doing it. Now does anyone know if its been suggested? Lol.

  14. Well, if it's something they grew up with, I'd have to guess its a film or film series from before the mid 80's when Murdy was in/graduating highschool. There are a lot of movies from that era and before, and seeing as we don't know everything people have suggested he use, it could be hard to narrow it down (though there are some I can think of off the top of my head that have been suggested.)

I would like to point out for speculations sake, though I'm sure it's way off base, he said it hadn't been suggested during his time at HHN, but nothing about if it had been used pre-hiatus. He would have grown up with Tales From The Crypt. Again, I don't even know if it's something that has been suggested in the past 7 years.

Personally, I'd like to see it turn out to be Black Christmas! One of my favorite horror movies, but sadly not as well known with wider audiences.
