  1.

Also noticed that one of the Freddie's has a camp crystal lake t shirt on now. Sure it wasn't there earlier in the week.

He's been there since Employee Preview, just sometimes he doesn't have the shirt on. Actually, the first time I did the house EP night, Jason was there lol

  2. I cannot see Comcast agreeing to giving Scream another try after the amount of money they lost this year because of the right's holders. Merch, ads, maps, the actual house, costumes, etc.A LOT of money was spent to do Scream, as is spent on every IP, then at the last second they backed out. I don't see them even considering giving that IP or any other property owned by the same people another chance. Why risk getting fucked over again?

Not to mention they gave Hollywood a real hard time with the Scream Terror Tram back in 2011, and that turned out horrible (according to most everyone) because of the shit the rights holders pulled. Only way I see Scream happening is if the IP ends up under the control of someone else, or a scene in a Die-In type house.

I LOVE those Catacombs ideas, Legacy. There's so much that the property can do as far as sequels, same with Nightingales. Only reason we haven't seen anything else with these characters yet IMO is because there's only been 2-4 spots open for originals in the past 4 years, so they're wasn't much room for originals AND sequels, save HAVOC. I think we may see the number of IPs drop to 4 or even 3 next year, or if we do get a 10th house, we'll have up to 5-6 originals, which gives them a spot for a sequel.

  3. Looks like one of the Festival of the Dead parade coins.

Also, I've got to start my 2016 Wishful Thinking.

    Z-Nation

    Cooties

    Final Girls

Purge 3 (Im pretty sold on this)

Conjuring 2 (Fairly big chance, but not necessarily gonna happen)

70s/80s movie the gang in A&D wanna tackle (Killer Klowns From Outer Space?)

1-2 more IPs (Cuz obviously. I don't believe TWD will return. Too much evidence goes against it, especially since the house seems to be doing poorly in comparison to most of the others)

Something with Jack and/or Eddie (Jack is ALWAYS a big hit. Wouldn't be surprised. I want a Jack vs Eddie house with the finale being Eddie severing Jack's head.)

Catacombs, Urban Legends, or Nightingales sequel (UL and Nightingales were designed to be franchises, and Catacombs is noticeably absent from M&M and is a MAJOR fan favorite. It's time for one of these 3 to return.)

    2-3 originals

for a possible 10th house, either a near duplicate of a past house or a cheap original (probably a 3D house)

    Possible IPs:

    Amityville Horror remake or original

    F13 reboot sequel

    TCM prequel

    Underworld (new movie next year)

    Ghostbusters

  5. They FINALLY added a few actors to a room that seriously needed them. Caught me by surprise.

I've had some great runs in this house as of recent. I think the house overall is fun to go through. Not an amazing house, but it's good, and when the cast is as intense as it was tonight, it makes for a great experience.

  6. I'm really surprised you said BC. :(

    Hidden Content

seemed really simplistic. FvJ - don't even remember it

Yeah it's pretty simplistic, but I've found it works rather well. They also added/moved someone this weekend.

FvJ doesn't have a traditional ending, which I found rather odd, but the way it ends makes sense. They go back and forth, the winner shows up at the end. The music and sound effects makes it feel like you're in an action/horror movie and I love it.

    B&T: 2

    The Carnage Returns: 1

Quick trip to take my mom through the 4 best houses, plus Asylum. Was out by 8:45.

  8. But I'm going to say I liked our Insidious and Walking Dead more back in Hollywood.

Pretty sure This is the End is better than Orlando's garbage pile of crap that is our TWD house this year.

But surprised to hear that about Insidious. I LOVE Orlando's, still haven't checked out a video from Hollywood. Might have to now. Excited to read your review, would love some comparisons!

And yes, FvJ and 25 Years are Top 10 of all time houses. Absolutely perfect.

  9.

Absolutely agreed. I think it was horrendous.

I wouldn't go THAT far. lol I liked the house, and scenically I thought it was incredible, but it was fairly low on scares. When the house is part of a year that includes Winter's Night, Nightingales, Nevermore, HR, Saws and In Between, it's hard for it to be the best of the year.

  10. What's up with the facade to this house? Yes it's massive, but you can see through the windows!! The supports are in plain sight.  I dont remember this being the case for the Myers house last year.

Yeah, I noticed that too. They should've used denser curtains to block the supports.

And it's pretty simplistic. I'm surprised no one is calling them out on this. There's no video projection.

Eh, I don't think this house called for projections. The light and audio choices work well enough to make for a creepy vibe before even entering the tent.

  11. The only weak points of the show for me this year are the Filibusters sequence and the finale (probably only because the last 2 were damn near perfect; makes it hard to live up to em). Other than that I love it. 2013/2014 were better, but this year's show is plenty hilarious. High amount of Disney jabs, funny plot, great jokes, great cast. Will probably see it nightly here on out.

  12. It looks more to the 2001 theme that got scrapped.  The trailer picture with Jack was the opening scaremonies concept art. Not saying they don't have plans to make next year the year they actually do this - which would be great.  But it would make the supposed versus theme difficult.  You can see more on it here: http://hhnmemories.tumblr.com/

I think that's the concept he was referring to. I am TOTALLY behind that, because I've always wanted to see that stage show with Jack's beheading pulled off. Have Eddie control the park, give him some heavy metal as a back drop, Don't do RUN again but give him a different house, and there you go. Make it an INTENSE year.

  13. All the Havoc's are not good. At all.

2010's was a lot of fun but overrated. 2013's was bad, and their room in M&M is bad. It's like The Forsaken; a fan favorite house that I just do not understand the hype surrounding it.

This house is fun. I've done it 7 times so far; it's fairly intense with the right cast (Cast B was ON IT yesterday).

  14. Friday, October 3rd:

    Monsters and Mayhem: 3

    Insidious: 3

    The Purge: 2

    Asylum: 2

    Body Collectors: 2

    Freddy vs Jason: 1

    RUN: 1

    AWiL: 1

    B&T: 1

    So far:

    Nights: 6

    Monsters and Mayhem: 10

    Body Collectors: 9

    Freddy vs Jason: 9

    RUN: 9

    Insidious: 8

    Asylum: 8

    The Purge: 7

    AWiL: 5

    The Walking Dead: 3

    B&T: 2

    The Carnage Returns: 1

  15. 1. Body Collectors (hard to pick between my 1-4. Went with this one for the overall eerie atmosphere, the snow storm effect, and music choice. Great opening to a great house.)

    2. Jack Presents (Jack spieling is awesome, as well as the spinning columns showcasing the icons. Look around, you may notice a lot of popcorn boxes lying around..)

    3. Insidious (Most threatening facade this year. Much like Halloween, the lighting and music choices make you feel unnerved before you even walk into the house.)

    4. Freddy vs Jason (Camp Crystal Lake and scares in the facade? Sold.)

    5. AWiL

    6. RUN (Cool concept. The Metallica helps.)

    7. Asylum (Nice continuation of the Ultra Violent Comics series. Very artsy.)

    8. The Purge (They had like a week to do this. Good enough.)

    9. The Walking Dead (What. The. Hell. Is. This. The House of Horrors facade from 2012 was better, and it was literally just a poster. Worst facade of all time.)

  16. 1. Insidious (Most intense out of the 9. Delivers the most scares when your timing is right.)

    2. Freddy vs Jason (Versus scenes leading into the winner at the end. Very timing dependent, but I love it.)

    3. Body Collectors (The Gentleman in the final room is AWESOME and comes out into the path to get great scares. Great way to end the house.)

    4. AWiL

    5. Asylum

    6. (The Jack element of Jack Presents is my only problem with the house; his sound effect is very non-threatening, which diminishes the scariness. It suits the character fine and works for the transitions in the house, but makes for a weak finale. The post finale scene was cool and unexpected though!)

RUN and Purge are typical. Nothing special, and so far have lacked energy.

And TWD's ending is fucking stupid, true to the show or not.

  17. Lines for Rockit and Mummy will not be short as the event continues. Rockit's already gotten up to 55min last weekend, and always gets to 90 min on most peak nights. I've seen Mummy hit 70 min on peak nights, and even non peak nights when Rockit's down. Gringotts has a monster capacity, so it likely won't get over 30-45min. MiB, Simpsons and Transformers tend to be 15-25min, and will hit 45 on the most crowded nights, but not much more than that I bet.

  18. What significance is that? Or is it just an Easter egg? Haven't gone yet but where do I look and are there any other Easter eggs I could know about?

The significance is that it just means Jack and Eddie were born in Shadybrook, insinuating their parents were insane. Could point to why they turned out the way they did, having been born/possibly raised in an insane asylum.

That could just be reading waaay too much into it, and this could very well just be a nod to the fans with no backstory or real meaning.

  19. I've heard it represents Home for the Holidays from 07, but I think it's meant to be a callback to Bloodengutz.

I think people were expecting to see Bloodengutz himself, but that's not the case. I love the room, personally. Everytime I walk through I tense up cuz I can't see a damn thing with the strobes and it feels like they're gonna hit me xD

  20. What specific room is the garage? I don't blame you if you can't recall.

I'm intrigued in how the Scream 2 scene would have worked. I'm guessing Billy's mother and a bloodied Mickey would pop out? Would the screen have been used, or even been there at all?

If you look up in the 3rd or 4th scene of the house, you can literally see the mechanism that's to open/close garage doors lol

it's a lot of fun to see the Scream sets mixed into very light Purge scenic/graffiti. Kind of a "what if" situation. Would've loved to see the house in full Scream set dressing and Ghostface, but what we got instead was a pretty intense house. If the actors keep up the intensity, it'll be a crowd favorite.

I fully expect to see a proper Purge house and zone next year for the 3rd movie, especially if this continues to get great reviews.

  21. I heard The Beautiful People by Marilyn Manson around the park.

Master of Puppets and Disposable Heroes by Metallica were played at the RUN facade. Both tracks off of Master of Puppets

In RUN, Run Like Hell by Pink Floyd (The Wall Disc 2) is played in the opening scene.

Of Wolf and Man by Metallica (Black Album) is used in the pre show of The Carnage Returns.

The opening dance song for B&T is Day of the Dead by Hollywood Undead.
