  1. In recent discussions I've seen about locations for an eighth and maybe ninth house, I don't see any mention of additional tents as had been tossed around before. While I know soundstages are preferable for multiple reasons, does anyone in the know think that another tent is out of the question now? Is all the construction/expansion eliminating possible locations for a third tent house? That is - is Uni running out of space? I thought I had seen elsewhere that Uni was attempting to re-acquire some of the surrounding property, so I may be thinking more space is there than what really exists.

So, anyway, the wishful thinking for me, again, is 8 - 9 houses. Even if someone has to pitch a tent.

I think the Carnage Warehouse would make for a nice new house location, all they would have to do is reroute SS 22's queue and exit and have SS 23 in use- which would allow for them to just use the Grad Bash pathway. This would allow for a possible scare zone location as well as provide a great way to spread out crowds. They would not only be lured to the the house and scare zone, but with Doom and Spiderman in operation, more rides too.

  2. I also have a problem with shrinking. When I got my shirt last year I made sure to get one that was larger than what I wanted. One accidental trip in the dryer and it's now smaller than my Sweet 16 shirt that I got when I was 12! This year I am going to be super careful, that shirt won't even get near the dryer.

  3. Yes. Last year since the AP's from the party are the first to be by the houses in the back of the park I got to go into Nevermore, Saws&Steam, and The Inbetween all by myself. Then I went right to the front of the park and was one of the first in The Thing queue and got to do that all by myself too. It was awesome! Even if you don't know if you can make the AP Party I would still RSVP for the nights you think you might want to go just in case.

  4. Thanks! I definitely will probably stick to the UTH tour and just do express or one of the frequent fear options depending on how often I can go. The no waiting in any line is a bit tempting though.

Are you an Annual Passholder? If so, I do the preview party every year and end up seeing every single house and scare zone by 7:30, I usually wait no more than 5 min for the houses- and that's without express.

  5. Can I ask what the big deal is if there are IP houses? Is the only reason people dislike them because they aren't "original"? Sure, I love the original ideas too but this is UNIVERSAL STUDIOS. IPs put you inside the movies, or in this year's case the TV show, music, and magic act. That's what the Studios is all about! If this was another park like the Six Flags chain or even HOS, then I can say that you have the right to complain about IPs over original creations... but this is Universal Studios, where you are supposed to "ride the movies"!

I'm not looking to get into any arguments, I just really want to know why there is such hatred for IP content...

Exactly! Universal has always been about living the movies. I for one love IP houses, I haven't been into a single one that I didn't love. I like experiencing the movies because when I watch them I want to be in the environment myself and Universal lets me do just that. The resort as a whole mixes rides that deal with movies and original content as well. Now I would be awfully sad If I went to Universal and suddenly Spiderman, Jurassic Park, Mummy, Fj, etc. were all gone. For me I think horror nights is the same way. I love original content more than the next fan but you have to think, even if a house is an IP it's 100% original.

  6. I can't comment on much, but HHN has built fairly large scale zones DAILY between day-time to event. Like, building full structures, moving out props, etc etc. It's not as crazy as some suggest,

I remember back in maybe '02-'03 they would close the park down like an hour and a half early just to do this. They would always tell us that they were setting up the event for horror nights. If I'm not mistaken the park use to close a lot earlier on event nights then it does now.

  7. For promotional materials (save 2001 which was a result of last minute changes), Universal has never had someone else play one of their original characters.

I'm pretty sure the media Storyteller was a different person every time she was featured in the event.

  8. What do you think are the possibilities that they could do a scarezone under the large covered walkway through the soundstages? You have the dark atmosphere and they could easily store the props and sets in the empty soundstages and move them into place so the pathway isn't blocked for TNA ( if they need to do it at all). Someone came up with a dueling twins concept where one would take over USF and the other would take over IOA, and this could easily be a great battle/ dual zone. Also makes the walk less boring.

  9. I loved this house! It was absolutley amazing, and the sets and scares were just incredible. The final scare at the end was just too cool, and I actually thought this house was pretty long. Definitely a top ranking house for me.

  10. Am I the only terribly devastated by the loss of the house books? I absolutely LOVED seeing the house's elevations, concept art, floor plans, and so on.

I really do wish Universal will bring them back this year.

    :(

Sadly this is my first year going on the UTH tour I would have loved to lay me eyes on those house books! I'm really hoping we get to see them.

  11. I apologize very deeply for getting people needlessly excited. When I gave the time marker on the Thing trailer I inadvertently gave the time remaining in the trailer rather than the time past. Both show up on my screen when I freeze frame. It was 1:52 time remaining which was actually 00:33 in the trailer.

The object I know about is not as Legacy said "big bladed, rhythmic and mobile". It's felt and has a lot of balls.

As much as I would have loved that I didn't believe it any way, that helicopter would have to be tremendously scaled down if it were to fit in SS 22 which only has a clearence of 23'. However who's to say a partial one crashed into the snow at the end won't fit...

  12. Did they ever specifically say no more movie houses? I don't remember that from last year. Even if A&D or Universal PR said it, it seems kinda silly to assume they'd NEVER do film tie-ins.

I know right, the whole slogan for the park is live the movies why on earth wouldn't they have movie houses.
