  1. How about a Scare Zone! Located in the New York area of Universal Studios Orlando. The Scare Zone should be based on a horrifying alternative universe. Or in this case the name of the scare zone is Alternate Universe. similar to Bizzaro's universe from Superman, Only scarier.

  2. Stop me if you heard of this before, but I wanted The Simpsons ride to be Halloween themed and retitled The Simpsons Tree-house of Horror: the ride. just like Disneyland's Haunted Mansion Holiday ride. But Halloween Themed all the way.

  3. I was thinking the other day. Universal is a movie studio, and they own the rights to all these amazing characters that they've created for Horror Nights over the years. Wouldn't it be cool if they started making actual horror movies with these characters? I don't see what would really stop them. They own the characters, They have access to film writers, directors, and set designers. They certainly can't have any doubts about the market for such movies. Just look at how popular HHN is, after all.

Personally, I was thinking it'd be a great idea if they got into the habit of producing a movie to introduce each icon and timed it's release with the beginning of Horror Night. Hell, they could even sell DVDs and Blu-Rays of the movie at the event itself. I know I'd buy one. It would just be one more way to help people get into the back story of these icons.

The movies wouldn't even have to be particularly large-budget. It'd be great if they COULD use big-name directors and/or actors and use cutting edge special effects, but this isn't strictly necessary. Done right, each movie could just be a one-hour short film in much the same style as the "Masters of Horror" series.

    What do you all think?

DUDE! Like... That what I was thinking of! Like Jack the Clown in his own Horror Movie. Not to mention The Caretaker, The Director, The Story Teller, Eddie (the guy with the chainsaw...), and FEAR!...

I mailed a letter to Universal a while back this year, and asked them 'bout it. Haven't got a reply back from the, yet.

  4. The dates should look like this.

    September 23, 24 (Opening Weekend)

    September 29, 30, October 1, 2 (2nd Week)

    October 6, 7, 8, 9 (3rd Week)

    October 13, 14, 15, 16 (4th Week)

    October 19, 20, 21, 22, 23 (5th Week, "Hell Week")

    October 26, 27, 28, 29, 30 (6th Week)

    Total: 24 Nights

One less night than last year! I don't think they would add Halloween the 31st seeing as its a Monday.

In 2012, Halloween is on a Wednesday, however I believe HHN will end on October 28th in 2012. We probably won't see a Halloween at HHN till 2014 when its on a Friday of closing weekend that year, the event would end on November 2nd. Of course, the powers that be could change all this. :)

October 27, 28, 29, 30 are my days of choices on going.

  5. Ok, for some of you think is good or bad idea for a Halloween themed Simpsons Ride. Thats fine by me. But anyway, you people prefer the Back to the Future ride. Well, I do too want to ride in the Back to the Future ride. But I haven't been on there. But have it on the extras menu on the Back to the Future trilogy on Blu-Ray. So I think the reason they took down the BTTF ride is because, do people know they realize the year 2015 both in Prt. II of BTTF and the scene in the Ride? Because, 2015 is Four years from now. It's 2011. So, I think they should bring it back to Universal, and put it in 3D, and edit the 2015 scene and replace it with either a different scene, like 1985. Or maybe we skip the 2015 future scene and cut to the Ice Age scene.

  6. Here's something to think about: if they play at HHN, how many people will buy tickets just to see the concert? What's the risk of them selling out simply because of that?

Or, if they make it a separate ticket but still at a venue inside Universal, how will the new crowd affect the event? Will it push them to over capacity? Will people be leaving the concert to attend HHN when the concert is over and filling up the houses and scarezones?

    uuhhh... no...sad.gif

  7. So, in a way this idea is similar to Disneyland's annual rebranding of the Haunted Mansion into Haunted Mansion Holiday. It's not only a huge hit with returning Guests, but people will actually plan trips during this time of year so that they can catch the new version of the ride.

That being said, there were rumors a few years ago that they would be applying this seasonal overlay to the HM at WDW. From what I've heard, it was eventually nixed because of the demographic difference between Guests in California and Guests in Orlando. You see, a large number of California theme park Guests are Annual Passholders and other locals. Orlando, on the other hand, gets a large number of international Guests. The difference is this: locals will come back to see something "tweaked" or "plussed" or otherwise differentiated from the norm. International visitors are seeing something for the first (and sometimes only) time. They don't appreciate limited-time things, as they don't have the luxury of returning frequently.

Here's my question: Is a limited-time holiday-themed overlay worth the potential risk of misrepresenting your attractions and/or alienating first-time visitors? Does it behoove Universal to spend the money and effort to create an attraction overlay that will be used for one month out of the year? And, in that month-long span, it's probably only going to be operational during the limited hours of HHN, as both Universal and IOA operate normally during daytime hours.

Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of holiday overlays, but it just doesn't seem to be in Universal's best interests to create them.

I know what your going, and maybe yes. Similar to Disneyland's Haunted Mansion Holiday "featuring the characters from Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas."

Anyway, I wish they should temporary shut-down the ride for decorating up the place, During the Decorating of Universal's Halloween Horror Nights both at Orlando, Florida and Hollywood, California.

  8. Once every year, The Simpsons Ride transforms into a Halloween styled ride, inspired by The Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror specials, past & present...

Plot: The Simpsons return to Krustyland for a Halloween event. Bart, Lisa, and Milhouse discovered an abandon Haunted House ride that has been broken down since last year, or two, after the grand opening of Krustyland. Meanwhile Kang and Kodos used their laser beam to bring the old haunted house ride, in Krustyland to life. You travel along with Bart, Lisa, and of course... Milhouse as they journey their way out of the house where everything comes to life, featuring Characters, Scenes, and environments from past Treehouse of Horror specials of The Simpsons, Including "The Devil and Homer Simpson" (Hell), "Bart Simpson's Dracula"(Mr. Burn's Castle), "The Shinning"(The Mansion), "Nightmare Cafeteria"(Cafe), "Homer³"(3D realm), and more.

    What do you think?...

  9. I think it would be more trouble than it's worth. At the moment the biggest stage is used for a screen and house queue and the other prime venue for putting up a stage is not only very small (something you'd put a local band on, not Slayer) is used for an added scarezone; not only would you be sacrificing a scarezone, you'd be putting one of the biggest bands in the world on a stage with the same space as my living room, if not less. You could put them in a soundstage, but you'd need to find one that's empty in the first place. And soundstages are much smaller concert venues than you'd think, especially for the crowds these bands would bring.

Speaking of crowds, look at the typical crowd for a Megadeth concert. See that almost endless wave of people stretching off into the distance? Add that to the crowds you'd be seeing on a normal HHN night. Over capacity doesn't BEGIN to describe it.

And then there's noise. If you've been to a concert for anyone, even Green River Ordnance (a Central Florida band), you'd know that you'll hear the music as soon as someone even opens the doors to the building they're playing in, and even in the bathrooms you can hear it going. A band like KoRn will be heard throughout half the park, at least. Nice way to drown out the effects and music of a scarezone.

And let's not get into the money.

So, In other wordshuh.gifsad.gif, NOISE POLLUTION? RIGHT?...dry.gif

    Not to mention, Copyrighting!

  10. I know, people heard their are already other shows at HHN like "Bill & Ted's Excellent Halloween Adventure", and "The Rocky Horror Picture Show a tribute", What about the Brutal of Brutal Rock Bands preforming at "Halloween Horror Nights?" Like Disturbed, GWAR, Rob Zombie, "Dethklok" from "Metaloclypse", "Slipknot", "Metalica", "Megadeath", "Slayer", and more. If you agree, tell me what Metal Band do you want to see at "Halloween Horror Nights"? If you disagree, thats fine.

  11. Slipknot would be interesting. Maybe Dimmu Borgir would be a better fit for this sort of thing....but going to UO to see the Dimmu Borgir house or Slipknot house just doesn't sound...Universal. I'm seeing it like this:

"This year only at Halloween Horror Nights XXI, see Death reign over Universal Studios with SlipKnoT: The Ghost of Paul Grey's Revenge!"

It just doesn't sound very....um....HHN-ish to me. Maaaaaaybe Hollywood but more HOS-ish to me.

DETHKLOK!!! XD from Metaloclypse. Or how about GWAR!!! XD

It could be that one of the could make their appearance.

  12. My folks are planning to go to HHN XXI in Orlando, Florida. I never been to HHN in my whole life. I can hardly wait to go their. but once I'm their, I want to see something new in HHN XI.

I want to see Evil Dead/ Army of Darkness, and Resident Evil. I've seen Evil Dead I, II, & Army of Darkness "A.K.A. Evil Dead III" but haven't seen The Resident Evil series. But still, CAN'T WAIT!!!:D
