  1. Ok... I need to ask. Did anyone else hear one of the guys at the end of this house boom out, "I'm the Wendigo Spirit... Fuck You!" ? I'm pretty sure it came from the guy dressed as a pilgrim/settler up top. It sounded so ridiculous, we were laughing for quite some time after that. The accent was perfect.

"Like wolf among sheep, the wendigo spirit has taken hold! I now mark you and all others as cattle to the slaughter."

  2. Roanoke 1/10: Why? Just why did they have to scrap a house based on the boogeyman and make this horrible thing with sets thrown together. Literally looks like it was put together in a week.... similar to a home haunt. The cannibals aren't scary at all and if you are hoping to see a wendigo, you are up for disappointment. The stilt wendigos look horrible. There is a little bit of gore but the rest is plain pathetic. Sorry to rant but this is one of the worst houses if not the worst that HHN has ever put together. I really expected more from them.

I don't think Roanoke was the replacement for a scrapped Boogeyman house. Roanoke was hinted at last year by all of the hidden Crows inside the houses.

  3. I don't want to spoil the event too much in a preview review. Technically there is and is not a wendigo in the finale. You'll understand.

And my favorite so far is Halloween.

There are Wendigos in the finale indeed.

  4. On my visit I was wandering around Sting Alley and a vampire in, what looked like, American Civil War military garb snarled at me from the shadows. It was too dark to decipher if it was a Union or Confederate uniform. I stared at him for a while and even asked what side of the nation he was on but of course I didn't get an answer.

What is the reference here? The "Nicholas Cage is a Vampire" hokum that sprouted earlier this year (or was it last year?) or the Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter movie (which I didn't see)?

Both cast A and B Civil War Vampires are with the Union :D

  5. I had a fanboy nerdgasm saturday when i was heading to Kidzone... the vampires were out in Hollywood and there was a vampire that i saw hop up onto the bench infront of HMU in a crouching stance. I stopped.. back tracked a few steps, looked over at him... sure enough, the mask he was wearing was that of "The Master" from Season 1 of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer".

So yea.. the shirtless vampire is great, but i'll be getting a pic with the Buffy villain vampire lol

Come find me :) I'd love to take a picture.

  6. One major factor I faced scaring last night in the streets was the cluster of people around the bars. These "dead zones," you mentioned were definitely not being helped out at all by clusters of people blocking scare actors from safely traveling from one side of the area to the other. I hope to see the traffic flow go more smoothly on opening night which will hopefully give you a better street experience.

  7. But it seems like your basing your opinion on the reaction of the group of people you went in with. Just because they didn't get scared in a certain room doesn't mean hundreds of other guests don't get scared when they come through. "this cast is not really good at all," seems like a pretty bold statement. Just saying.

  8. 7.Forsaken:i went through this house twice, both on cast A..this cast is really not that good at all.

I beg to differ on this one. Having 5 Fire crew that night probably didn't help but claiming only three scenes were good is a little hard to swallow.

  9. FORSAKEN

Where the heck is the guy with the red eyes that the guide in the Youtube video promised? Wah! ....Also, the one room where you walk along a tilted walkway - as awesome as it is - I think may be a mistake.... I tripped on it this time through, and two people in front of me did as well.

The cursed souls in John Carpenter's The Fog had Red Eyes which The Forsaken pays homage too however ours are Green.

  10. In-freaking-credible house. The more I can go in here, the more I can appreciate the details. Beautiful sets, courtyard is amazing, love the wind and rain in my face. And I love that I can smell both sawdust and fog when I first walk in (my favorite HHN smells). But my greatest appreciation goes to the scareactors. They have taken a situation that made scaring trickier (the glowy eye thing) and turned it on its head. The anticipation is a killer - maybe you'll get nailed, maybe not, but probably. But when? And how? And how many? And when is it REALLY over? You're walking out of a room, and BOOM! There's a hand in your face and a growl in your ear. Wow, just.. wow.

I had some great walkthroughs and shout-outs on Friday (I'm loving the attention in the Courtyard), but Sunday was even more fantastic. I was able to run through 3 times that night, but the second time (shortly after Stay and Scream opened) I was absolutely ALONE in there with the actors and Ops (and I think some Ops were hiding too). There is nothing better than hogging every scare for yourself. I got some good shoutouts, and some delightful conversations with the conquistadors. I just wish I knew what we were talking about. La plume de ma tante est sur la table, anyone? Anyways, I still say, those conquistadors are some serious noms...

(Back on topic). Earlier in the thread, someone had indicated that, in the slanty shipboard section, the leftmost part of that walkway is not slanted. THANK YOU! The slanty walk is fun, but I'm a lot more steady on the level part. But I also have apologies - I still feel a bit unsteady there, so I am normally holding the rope as I pass through, and I keep bumping hands with the actors that are working HARD in there. I'm not being a DB, guys, really, I'm not trying to interfere with you, I just need to steady myself. But I send you my sorries nonetheless.

And the finale. I got targeted all three times on that (and I know bungee is probably the wrong term for that scare - it's not an up and down scare). Triple teamed every time - quadruple teamed if you count the last scareactor using both of his boo holes. And shout outs and shirt points to make the house complete.

Thank you and major applause to both casts. You have ramped this house up to make it climb to the number one spot on my list this year. Can't wait for tomorrow night!! :D

I'm glad that you're loving the house. I'm typically the one in the chapel with the sword but I was on bungee Sunday and it was nice running, err... I mean flying towards you for your three visits. You have good timing! Weren't you the one who always clapped with me in the Body Collector room last year in Hallow'd Past? :D

  11. ...And I just have to say, in the Cathedral, whoever is standing completely still in the wind, center of the room is A-MAZING! So damn still, the second time through after being scared shitless the first time, I completely forgot to watch out for them, and they were so still, I didn't give it a second thought, and they got me just as bad.

    ;)

  12. Well as the website/games have led to, Lady Luck comes in all shapes and forms. Each house is represented by certain individuals who have encountered Lady Luck in some form and had to make a choice.

For example, The Forsaken tells the story of Antonio Cabot, the Captain of the fourth condemned ship that never made it. Lady Luck presented herself in the form of Queen Isabella chartering the trip.

I think this scare zone will contain the Lady Luck that we all know plus all of her various forms pertaining to each story represented in the houses.

  13. Do you want a signature or an avatar? I think it will be really hard to get all of the requested elements in an avatar, but it probably could be done.

Just asking for those who will be making what you requested.

Whoops I'm completely sorry. I should of read what I wrote before I posted. I meant a signature. Thank you for bringing that to my attention. I like the avatar too though so I'll use it as well. Thanks for taking the time to create it.

Also, if you could use this picture of The Usher or something similar.

    180px-HHNRFTSS_The_Usher.jpg

And this one or something similar for the Body Collector

    33918_533593698859_206800677_31576751_2264870_n.jpg

Thanks again and I apologize about the confusion :(

  14. Hey guys, just seeing if anyone could possibly make me an avatar. I would like it to say my user name; The Matador. I would also like it to contain images of the roles I've played for Halloween Horror Nights. I played The Usher in 09 and I played a Body Collector last year. Also if u could somehow fit in the role names with the dates would be great. Thanks so much guys!

  15. If you look at the very top left of the corner you can see the roof. It looks like the parade building. So this is our pirate house I guess?

You're absolutely correct :D I was in The Hallow'd Past last year (Parade Building). I'm 100% positive that's the ceiling. Nice find.
