  1. BJ show... any possibility Death Drums will do it there instead of being infront of Mels? And if its not a magic show what do you think they will put in there... Rocky Horror? like I said before Sweeny Todd would be cool or an Icon show in there would be cool as well... "If we get an Icon the show could be like a history lesson on the Icon"

I don't believe we have the chassis that the Drums were mounted on anymore, so I could see that as a possibility. I honestly haven't heard anything though, just a guess. If it does move into Beetlejuice expect it to be a completely different show/name. Just based on the same idea.

  2. 7 Houses and 8 zones would actually be an ideal event in my eyes, at least while there is so much darn construction going on. It's already difficult to get 8 houses done in the night (well a crowded night where your friends decide that you don't REALLY need to be there at (or Before) 6:30).

It would be really killer to get a third show to make up the capacity from the lost house. Any word on shows this year? Obviously Bill and Ted. I thought Death drums was good, but I'm pretty sure those chassis are gone now, have there been any rumors on that?

As far as the parade building, perhaps the parade will be a summer-only event, for peak season? And maybe they'll just have to construct the house super fast after every thing else is done? No info, just thoughts.

  3. First of all, I highly doubt that Harry Potter couldn't be open at all during an event.

Second of all, What I meant was with the added attendance during the daytime hours, it wouldn't make sense to close off large guest areas that are now used on a daily basis, whereas in the past, when the Event was held at islands, the park simply didn't have the popularity to matter when the areas I mentioned were closed. (Discovery center, Poseidon, Bluto's Queue) There is also Thunder Falls. The only one that really doesn't matter is the Triceratops trail, they had a house there once, and if they wanted to, they could easily use that again.

Thirdly, if you were referring to Amity...No...new streets won't be ready by September...

  4. So...In a completely realistic REAL world. How likely is it really for each of the following things to happen?

1 (Most Likely) The event stays in Just USF, with a new house location that is not the Jaws Queue (Perhaps the Herc and Zena Building, or Another Soundstage, or another area we've yet to think of. If it does stay here Bill and Ted would probably be at Fear Factor per usual with another show as well (I Heard rumblings last year of an evolved version of Death Drums, but I have no idea if that's still in the cards) The Streets are easily moveable, and nothing here is really make or break (Hollywood, Mel's, Shrek Ally, Production Central, New York, Sting Ally, San Francisco, Central Park, Kidzone, World Expo, Etc)

    2. Just Islands. The Event moves over to Islands of Adventure being it's home for the foreseeable future. If this happened, they would probably move the sprung tents to islands, perhaps behind Thunder Falls, or Behind Cat in the Hat? Unfortunately, with the added attendance from Harry Potter, many of the old House Locations are not feasible anymore, Such as the Jurassic Park Discovery Center, Poseidon's Fury, Bluto's Queue, Etc. But there is still the Carnage Warehouse, Sprung Tents, Soundstages, I'm sure they could make it work if they wanted to. If this happened Bill and Ted would obviously move over to Toon Amphitheater, and probably another show as well. I personally don't think that Harry Potter would be an issue here, I think that the area could remain open, but be like Seuss in that it probably couldn't be a scare zone, so If it was a JUST ISLANDS event the scare zones would probably be Port of Entry, Marvel, Toon, Perhaps 2 in Jurassic Park, and Sindbad's Village. (Because that's really all there is without Seuss and Potter.) That being said, I think if the Event was moved over to Islands it would be far more likely that we would have Option 3...

    3. Island Entrance, with Half of Studios. I Believe this has been done in the past that Islands serves as the main entrance with Part of Studios open, you could cross over from Seuss or Lost Continent, and you could also keep Mummy and Rockit open. Bill and Ted would probably still be in Toon Amphitheater, but this way the Scare Zones would be more spread out then an event that was JUST ISLANDS. This also opens up more spread out entrances for the Soundstage Houses as well.

    4. USF Entrance with Half of Islands. I dreamt of this event a while back, and really it no longer seems feasable to me, but it's worth noting. USF is laid out with streets on the left side, and a circle on the right, but if for example you opened up a pathway from Production Central over to Seuss, Forced traffic up toward Lost Continent and then back around toward The Manhattan Public Library, it would be brilliently laid out, and you could open Harry Potter (Without a scarezone of course, but it's still a popular attraction). If this happened Bill and Ted would be at Fear Factor and it would give them the option to spread out Scare Zones more because of the Amity construction. That being said, there are no real spaces for Houses on the Islands side, Unless they open up a fourth soundstage, there would be no houses on the Islands side of the event and quite a lot of dead space with Seuss and Potter. I don't see this one happening, but I don't know, it seemed worth noting as a possibility.

    5. Two Full Parks with connecting Scarezones for One HUGE event. Anything really goes with this one, Spread out Houses, Spread Out Scare Zones, LOTS of added capacity, LOTS of added potential attractions. There are obviously a few cons though, LOTS of extra security and LOTS of extra operations personnel most notably come to mind.

    6. Two full parks, separate tickets. I don't see this one happening, but it's been mentioned so once again, I thought it was notable.

So...Really. Not in any fantasy world. In the REAL WORLD, which of these seem the most likely. It seems most likely to me that the event will stay at Studios with some Major new Crowd Flow changes. But, on the other hand with construction at studios, it seems like this could also be a good year for experimenting. The event gets more and crowded every year, and word of mouth gets more and more notable every year, so who knows? Anyone have any insight?

  5. yes, if that area does become a part of the Wizarding World, they will have to change that Concrete, but I would expect that to be one the last things they would do. This new development probably won't really affect anything at all, as has been stated, it would probably just be walls on the right side of the street from Sindbad-Potter. Probably nothing more.

  6. Got another new question....Does anyone know where they are storing the new Universal Superstar Parade? If they are storing them in the current parade building that could mean losing another house location (Unless they get rid of the old floats and just store them in the back.) Or are we actually getting the long-rumored second parade building? Anyone have any info on that?

  7. That makes me wonder about the new Lagoon show as well. Will that be a summer/peak days (and by Summer/Peak days, I mean Summer/New Year's) show or will it be year-round? Perhaps select nights year round? Like weekends only during the off season or something? Have they said anything about that, because that could affect it as well. Perhaps they could move HHN over to IOA exclusively (except soundstage houses), and then keep USF open late to try to draw day guests over there to see the show after spending all day at Harry Potter Land.

    Just a thought.

  8. I also have heard that Herc and Zena was not habitable, but I believe they do use it for some backstage things, so I imagine with a little bit of restoration it could probably be usable.

I don't know if the rumors are true, but right now it seems likely that Potterland Phase 2 will be replacing Amity, so does anyone have any thoughts about how that will affect the event, if at all?

  9. So, as many of you have probably heard, JAWS and the surrounding Amity area will be closing this January. When construction for whatever is going there (rumors abound) begins, I think we can probably count on the removal of the current Jaws queue building which has been used as a haunted house location for the last several years. There have been many other locations in the past, but it seems like many of them are unusable now.

So my question is, where do we think that eighth haunted house be if we lose the Jaws Building? Nazerman's? Herc and Zena? Another Soundstage? Anyone have any ideas?

Or (And I realize this is a pipe dream) could they possibly look into expanding the event in new and exciting ways? I've already heard some interesting rumors for next year, so ... Thoughts?

  10. I was all for the idea of a Havoc Sequel, but with the Nightingales I feel that has become redundant and would much rather see them return in a future year.

Saws to me made a fine house, there were some amazing artistic details in there, but I would almost like to see it return to the streets, kind of like a combination of Hacktion from 2009, and Acid Assault from this year, a big Saws themed zone in New Yorkshire (Or whatever it was called) perhaps even using the projections.

Winter's Night I could actually see being a great Scare Zone (Perhaps in Central Park, or if they ever do two parks again in the Field of Screams Area) can you imagine trying to navigate a cemetery with Snow and wind blowing in your face creating the effect of an outdoor blizzard?! I would love to see this!

Thing I agree is done, but I would love to see a sequel to Silver Screams, I feel that this is the best use of a movie themed house now that Die-In has been done to death, and I feel it didn't work as well in Bloodengutz as it did here and Die-In, so I would love to see this come back, let's face it, horror movies are the only reason events like this can exist, it's in their blood, if you will. So I would love to see this concept return.

Poe and Forsaken are both over, they don't lend themselves well to franchises.

I can't see any of the Scare Zones coming back this year...they just weren't amazing.

What I would really love to see return is both Rocky Horror, and Death Drums! Rocky Horror is a Halloween Staple, and I would love to see Death Drums grow and change and gain as big a following as Bill and Ted.

  11. I like...all of it.

I'm a big fan of reading fan-made things like this. I constantly follow theme park websites of all kinds, and this has the potential to be great.

Normally you see things like this and things seem awfully childish. But...Darn. I love the idea of seeing Havoc as a scare zone - I can just see the overturned Van with the inhalant (Though to be honest with you, I might consider switching the Fog and Havoc. Shrek Ally is very enclosed and narrow and not much place for the Fog to escape to, but unless you are considering Sting Ally, I would say the Fog would disperse WAY too quickly in New York).

Thirteen Ghosts as a house...hmm...It's a little late, what about taking the parts of it that you would best make a house and then create a new story around it. Edit: On second thought, it still plays on TV every October, it's not a forgettable film, they did a Thing House like 20 years late, so more power to you, do it.

I love the Salem House, I love the Supermarket House, I love the cemetery scare zone.

I hope to see more. Wonderful graphic designs as well.

    Well done.

  12. Sorry for the double post, but I just wanted to Add that I was able to go through the THING, on opening night (thought still not Saws n' steam, Grrrr) And Thought it was great! The animatronics I thought were kind of cheesy (except for the last one) But the human actors were amazing, the costumes were so freaky, and the sets were great. I really got freaked out in this house a few times. Excellent Job!

The goal was to try to see Bill and Ted, but since the first show was cancelled, the others were packed and we missed out opportunity. We did go through the other two soundstage houses again, which just confirmed my love for all three of them. Winter's Night is still amazingly beautiful, and I got the best scare I ever have gotten at the event, when I was distracted looking at the detail of the miniature graveyard scene with the miniature coach in the background. (Love the body crawling through the snow as well). Same thing with Nightingales, I'm not sure how it happened, but somehow this AMAZING house has gotten even better since EP, I feel like there were more shooting soldiers (which helps to sell it and they had great energy) I feel like the Nightingales screams were louder, and they are pretty darn freaky. There were definitely even more scares than I noticed on EP going on last night! Excellent Job to all three soundstage houses!
