  1. I would argue they're actually realizing their faults. A few years ago they had no scare zones (that was a bomb), they brought it back. No icons? People wanted them back, so they are. TWD too much? It's not the main thing they announce. etc.

You may well be right.  What I would be interested in is knowing what the Universal brass actually thought of the events the past few years.  Would they consider them successes or failures?  I'd actually be interested in hearing what people here say as well.  I couldn't name a single year that I would label a failure by my definition.  Never did I leave the place thinking "Well that was a total dud!".  I've had years that I enjoyed more than others, and I've had houses/scarezones that I enjoyed more than others.  But never would I consider the year to be an all out failure.

  2. I agree, hence why they don't need to bring IPs back as much. They can have more creativity (which put them on the map), please every fan, and bring in more merchandise sales.

There's no way to please every fan.  I've gone to HHN for 10+ years and I've followed along on HHN message boards for years.  People always complain.  The reason we all continue to go is because we love it.  Ultimately it's the event that keeps drawing us back.  But don't fool yourself.  The real money is in IPs which always have and always will have a bigger impact on sales.  We are the minority.

When The Walking Dead was announced, all of my friends that are fringe fans got excited about it.  That's what Universal is going for.  It's the swing vote that really matters.  We're the extremists.  We'll go regardless (by and large).  It's capturing as much of the non-extremists as possible that brings in the real money.

  3. He is an Archangel. Gabriel is portrayed as the voice of God in the Bible. He is sent to communicate with people... I have no idea if that pertains or not.

It is an interesting idea. The Archangel Gabriel delivered messages to people. Gabriel Fell will be delivering messages to us via LT. I could see this becoming something substantial.

  4. Interesting cryptic comment. I do not know of the reliability of The_Insider, but I do know the context of this particular Chrismas song.

This song is a war song about soldiers hoping the war will end soon so that they can return home to be with their families for the Holidays. It is a rather sad song in that in the lyrics you get a sense that the singer doesn't really expect this to come to pass. The song concludes with the follwing:

"I'll be home for Christmas, if only in my dreams"

Another interesting thing about this fellow's mysterious teaser is this: why is Wednesday happy?

This guy also said that we should expect an update last Saturday. We got it a couple days before. Obviously, that's a small sample size but it's all we have.

  5. I can remember in 06 and 08 i saw like doctors in scrubs up front with blood all over them, whether they were related to the theme or not for the given years i doubt it, i can see 08 being related but i have no idea why they were there in 06

    Wasn't 06 the mental patient?

    Edit: That was 04.

  6. You know, I've been doing some thinking (sorry if this is off topic of the whole JMR convo)

I was flipping through the HHN wiki today, reading over their past SZ and haunted houses and theres alot of possibilties that havent been discussed. I mean...the Bates house, for example. They used that ALOT back in the beginning of the event: you think they might do an updated version for the event?

Another thing: do you think they'll bring back Robosaurus for the festivities? I know we haven't seen him with Sweet 16, but if this is indeed a reunion year, then it would be fitting. Like I said, just thot hah

I don't believe they have Robosaurus anymore.

  7. Eddie as a Icon, Usher as a Mascot? Hrm. I'd like to see either.

Could you see them somehow changing Eddie to be the Usher? Like you said, Eddie was a horror fan. And that could be the connection to Jack that some have speculated on? Who knows?

  8. Reference Picture: Sprung Tent Facade

Only a hunch, but something about the way this entrance(?) looks makes me think of Frankenstein's castle. Something about the color and just the shape of it, I dunno...I can imagine this being the entrance to the castle if this were to be the location of a Frankenstein-centered house...

I got the same feeling. I don't know why either. Wasn't there another idea of a castle house that didn't involve Frankenstein and his monster?

  9. Not sure but we may have an "egg" on the website as I do not think this book on the top was part of last years event. I tried to check it against the page from lat year but cannot find it. If anyone knows let me know.

    Clipboard01.jpg

What is that on the book? The only thing I can think of is the "X" on the wall in the first Saw movie. I don't know though. It's probably nothing.

  10. The Director needs to come back for this year, it would be so awesome!

Well, now that the website has been updated, I am wondering, does anyone else see the curtains in the background? I am probably reading too much into this, but maybe not? They look very similar to theatre curtains.

  11. This time of year there are alot of things sent to websites that report on HHN, let's remember Nick and the great farce he pulled. I do not put much faith in anonymous things sent to HHN related website, or Screamscape.

The rumor of Saw, as given in an interview as being part of HHN, has overshadowed everything else and people ran with it, We have found in years past that 99.9% of all information received prior to a Uni release is utter BS> Once in a while someone does hit a home run with a guess, then they act like they knew all along.

And on the Saw runor, everyone points "Puppet" to Saw, How soon we forget "PuppetMaster" and how well it would be a fit for HHN

You know, I've been thinking a similar thing lately. What if the Saw statement was not true? Or what if the guy misspoke? What if the one "guarantee" of this year was not? These are the type of questions that have been going through my mind lately. Has there been any other confirmation of Saw other than that interview?

  12. Squarehead was the one that really threw me off, but then I searched it on Google and this came up.

It probably was obvious too, but I really just kept thinking Sponge Bob, lol.

I did the same thing. And when I saw that, I got excited. I mean, I know this could be completely false information, but still, it's getting me totally pumped for HHN.
