  1. My impressions after letting it all sink in:

-Bummed majorly they're doing a LT truth house. I think doing just the investigation is fine but giving it its own house is a waste of a perfectly good house. Plus I'm sure those not following it are either going to appreciate it much more or less than those so absorbed by LT.

-The Hades house- they say you'll be walking through the Underworld and most people's thoughts for that are a pretty grand scaled thing, so I'm interested to see how they pull that off and not let it be a big fake cave with flickery red lights ;)

-I'm all for the Cindy house. I think this will be a blast. Same with PsychoScareapy. I do like that they mispelled orphanage (Orfanage) it seems pretty clear thats for all the fans who begged to get her in the event. This is a house for them.

-It upset me they're essentially redoing the Shadows of the Past scarezone from last year with the 20 years of fear one. Granted, a majority of people didn't get to see it and I'm sure there will be more to it, but it feels like a freebie for Universal.

-The Fear Revealed zone sounds like it should be a stage show upon entering and less a scarezone, but I think this will be a good one.

-Day of the Dead scarezone sounds great. They normally do a neon house, and none seem to fit this year so does this count in its place?

-I'm over zombies. A scarezone and house seems a bit much. The scarezone would be great but a post zombie apocolypse house again feels like an afterthought on their part.

-I'm on the fence with the HHN house. I don't think its a museum or a warehouse or anything said before anymore now as it seems from the description they're saying its a whole world where HHN never dies. If done right, this could be great. I just fear its going to be a Jack room followed by a Caretaker Room like a museum would. They have a chance to get very creative with that and I hope they take it.

The others I'm undecided about. I'm trying to see more of a pattern to why these houses and scarezones (aside from the obvious ones) because a few just feel tossed in there like leftovers from a design meeting. We'll see. I do, no matter what, think it will be infinitely better than last year.

I'm liking the slogan "There's nothing to fear but Fear Himself" And the hints we've seen of it are fun. Overall very excited!

  2. Something I've always laughed about. People tend not to use their EP passes properly.

Last year for example, I got to see houses immediately when they opened since my call time wasn't till 7. Walking through the lines at around 530, there were people walking along side me in the EP line. Why?!

There are a total of 10 people in line!

Unless I'm wrong, I though EP was good once per house. Do as many houses as you can first, and only use the EP line as needed to get your extra visits.

I noticed the same thing. Especially if you go in early through IoA I think we were in about 5 or so like you said. We walked right in a few houses last year and didn't need the EP at the time. Once it just started to get dark is when it started to back up and it was good to have EP. We ended up sitting around having a few drinks waiting for it to get dark. Scarezones aren't quite the same with daylight going on.

  3. Greyfalken, I got a response yesterday basically saying as of very recently Mr. Fell all but put them on lockdown and they aren't allowed to talk about hardly anything after the breach. He enacted new restrictions on staff preventing them from disclosing much that they could previously, even about their personal lives. I couldn't get much word on what these restrictions entailed either. So it seems getting information like you're asking is going to get much trickier from them from here on out.

Lol and yes everyone to save you the time of having to look back- theeyeofhorus is always right. That should be a disclaimer before you post on the boards :)

  4. Amen to that!

And I have to say that this year, one of my pet peeves has become the incessant "When are we getting an update?", "We don't know anything about the event!" This is probably the first year I can recall since the inception of the actual HHN website where we have gone this late into the season without knowing much at all...and it has been wonderful! Every year up till now it seems we were well aware of every single detail of the event, leaving little to the imagination on opening night. Isn't that part of the fun of HHN, the surprise of what has been created for us? This will be my 20th year and I still enjoy the anticipation of what the event holds for us...I would much rather have bit by bit revealed, than know everything up front all at once.

With the major updated scheduled for the 26th, soon enough we will know what to expect from this year...until then, chill, relax and enjoy the anticipation of what certainly will be an amazing year.

    Well put!!!

An offshoot of this is the guys who pick apart every pixel of information out there convinced they can "figure it out" before it's released and then try and convince everyone they know everything about it. Sometimes things don't have a deeper meaning, they just are what they are. Give it time and you'll get your answers without riling up the masses.

  5. I left out a few of the other pictures because it was late and my bed was calling and I think were still missing a few pieces. The rat lady, I got her about in the same position and 3 of the photos I could get to position in but they aren't as exact as the ones that fit. 2 pairs matched up with each other I have sitting on the side. Gimme more images, LT and I'll polish this baby off!

  6. One thing I've noticed... not sure if it's been brought up yet, but thus far each one of the pictures has been from a different year. So I wonder if that has something to do with how they'll need to be arranged.

I noticed that too. I also keep noticing that there seems to be a significant amount of the pictures all from hhn 18 (lots of Asylum in Wonderland and Fractured Tales) Probably doesn't mean much but it seems they chose many more images from those scarezones than other sites and years.

  7. and there is also more blood on the director as well...

so... anyone else want to doubt me on the "differences from archived versions" theory?

I don't think anyone was doubting you, more just trying to show there's probably much more to it than that.

As for the added blood, in my opinion, I think it's just added blood. Going for a more dramatic effect to the photos and they had someone photoshop some on but you never know .Time will tell.

  8. Good question actually. Cindy and Caretaker, MOB and FOD, and Torture Truck. The first two and the second two just naturally go together don't they?

Haven't there been a few more rumors about the Caines than just "all the Icons back on Hollywood Blvd. and Parade Bldg."? Yes, they have out of all the rest been rumored to have an actual house, or two.

Then there's that scarezone with Mardi Gras theme, Festival of the Dead? Midway of the Bizarre?

And there is one house where a torture truck would fit in quite nicely.

Just a wild guess, but maybe these are chosen because they may represent actual places at the event where we will have to look for clues? Because this will be going into the park eventually.

That's a very good point, Dr. Jimmy. I am not inclined to think this is a look at what will be there this year because that seems too easy but your thought that it could be a way of tying together locations is one no one has mentioned. I like it.

  9. As to the on-site hotel lower prices people have asked-

if you call you can get one of like 5 answers ranging from "Huh, we don't sell HHN tickets at the hotels" to "yes there will be cheaper tickets" We spoke to one of the higher up salesladies at the RP and she said they can only go off of what info they get from Universal which, unfortunately, isn't much. As of right now if you call they have sheet of paper with prices. It's all they can go off of. Tickets are cheaper (by a few bucks) if you get them through the hotel but you obviously must be a hotel guest to do so. She said as to express passes in the past, yes they have had them discounted for hotel guests but as to if they will this year they currently have no info on that and can only sell them at the regular price BUT once the event gets closer and starts is (in the past) when they were given word they could sell them cheaper. So long story short- she thought they would have cheap express passes but prob not til late september.

  10. I'm kind of torn on the issue. I love hhn but I will say, initially the first few houses, I need a little liquid courage to calm the nerves if you know what I mean. We all hit up Margaritaville before going in the parks for that reason. You can drink and have fun. Do I think most of the people I've encountered drinking at hhn follow that thought? Not so much. It (to me at least) seems much more rare to encounter a slightly tipsy person enjoying their night and more common to get the belligerent arm swinging chick with puke on her pants cursing at the scareactors. I like Hollywood's no tolerance policy in theory and am sure a park full of comprehendable people is much more enjoyable than the sea of grain alcohol you tend to witness at Orlando but I admit I do like to drink there within reason.

  11. I think the puzzle pieces can be arranged in numerous ways but when I arranged the puzzle pieces a little differently a face (towards the right) can almost be seen. Not sure if it's another face in the clouds deal but I thought I'd share it since when I posted it on the LT facebook I got a positive response from Ignatia. Anyone else post their arrangement and get contacted? LT_Images.png

Once again, as with your lantern picture, you're forcing things in and out of an image. These don't fit together. Close but not matching. They wouldn't give you a handful of matching pieces up front. Wheres the fun in that? The others who have posted their ideas for the pieces seem way more on the right track and this is just grasping at straws IMO.

  12. I think that is right, as its not hard to make an image and write a status. One thing I don't understand though is why would they seize a facebook page, of all the things they could do (unless because of the post about posting something.....assuming this is even official of course)

That is an interesting thought, hhhmmm

I agree with others, I highly doubt Jack has a fb page and spends his days kicking up his feet on his macbook checking status updates and poking people! ;) I think this is just some kid who was the first to think of it and others followed (Cindy, etc)

If LT did hijack his page, why not the others? 2 seconds in photoshop and a fake Jack account I anybody could do the same.

Though real icon facebook pages, as others said, would rock!

  13. I think it can take away from whats going on. I mean, like last year the Mel's Die In scarezone and Cirque Du Freak (ugh. Did that even count as a scarezone?) was basically one big photo-op. None of the actors ever got a chance to be scary cause they were ganged up by people for photos.

If you take a pic in passing thats cool but I think stopping them and having them break character ruins it.

  14. I liked one theory (its far fetched, but still) that the CFO could have gotten so consumed with his work and studying the past icons that he kind of went mad. He could have stumbled across the lantern and it is so inherently evil that it can give him power to stir up evils more powerful than past icons and he can attempt to do the job better than they did.

  15. I did have a good experience with the drunks too last year. Some drunk as a skunk lady and her friends in front of us in line for the mummy. She turned to us and started going "I'm like...uh...a kitty. A kitty cat...MEEEOOWW!" and proceeded to turn to us clawing the air and meowing like a cat in heat every few seconds. When we didn't respond, her drunk friend cursed at us and threw her bottle of water at us and all the people in line behind us getting us soaked in the process. At least I hope it was water.

  16. I'm sure I'm not the only one who noticed this, but it drove me nuts last year to see them so picky when you got in about the no masks or horrory makeup rule but the minute you're inside, for 20 bucks you could get your face painted to look like any monster you please in Amity. And it seemed every muscled up drunk guy there with his girlfriend had to have their faces painted so they could pretend they were scareactors and chase down girls. Seriously?

  17. I've always seen bit mentions here and there such as the box posted above, and if this was written out by someone, forgive the post cause I've just never crossed it, but has anyone who ran through all of LT in 2008 explained what took place at night at actual HHN? I've seen many photos about the maps and names on windows and things but how did all of it end at the event every night?

  18. I emailed Ignatia Himmel telling her I was informed to contact her from an unnamed source to meet with HIM. That I couldn't name, names as this wasn't a protected conversation. Time will tell.

It's fairly clear from the emails people have had back and forth with her that she doesn't tend to respond to things we all know are shots in the dark for info like that. Lol I don't think that's stopped any of us, myself included, from trying! She responds well to short simple questions that don't give her the opportunity to say just "yes or no" Keep in mind guys, I'd easily guess most of the questions she gets are "Whats the password!?" or "Hey whats the theme for this year?!" So if you pose an interesting question to her, odds are she may well respond.
