TWICE THE SIZE. TWICE THE FEAR.
For the very first time, the event expands into both theme parks, Universal Orlando and Islands of Adventure.
7 ALL NEW Haunted Houses
4 ALL NEW Scare Zones
The Festival of the Dead Parade
An ALL NEW Bill & Ted Show
Due to the hurricanes that devastated Florida in August and September, construction was delayed and final preparations weren’t made for the event until the last minute. The employee preview night was canceled, and even on the afternoon of opening night, teams were still busy putting scare zones together. It wasn’t until the second week of the event that everything was completely done.
The design team paid respect to several Halloween Horror Nights fans by spray painting their online aliases on the walls in the Fright Yard.

The castle itself is rumored to be the Blood Shrine of an ancient race that is long feared… but of which little is known. With ornamentations gathered from all over the world, CASTLE VAMPYR is said to contain a talisman from each “house” of the breed. And this evil congregation beckons the faithful to gather every thirteen years to renew vows to a dark power that drives their insatiable thirst for immortality.
Location: Disaster Queue
Something went wrong… terribly wrong. Genetic engineers bent on unlocking the secrets of longevity instead unlocked a Pandora’s Box of horror. There us a fate worse than death and its quarantined in a cityscape that has been named DEADTROPOLIS… where the undead roam in search of the living cower and hide in fear for their lives.
Location: Carnage Warehouse (B285A)
Here hours stretch and reality blends, up is last and everything bends. Front is left and back is night, day is dark and noon is right. The walls are doors and sound is sight where white is dark and black is bright. Straight around the next curved squares, on first last bottom top three stairs, bitter scents are terribly sweet, hearts are tails and heads are feet. Way up slow beneath the loft, far away close is hardly soft. And you always choose and you always win… and you never leave the way you came in.
Location: Sound Stage 22
Strangled by the gold fever, the violent town of Lightning Gulch disappeared in a fierce thunderstorm that swallowed up the settlement and all its ill-fated souls. Today there is no trace of the Gulch… except when vicious storms rage, once again revealing all of the buildings and the tortured ghosts that lurk in its streets, saloons and alleyways. Still desperate to protect long lost treasure, these wretched spirits remain blinded by the lust for gold and enraged by greed.
Location: Sound Stage 20
Warden Robert L. Strickland’s monument to himself where paying visitors suddenly find themselves lost alone inside the penitentiary’s cell blocks, corridors and secret chambers… alone with a prison population of insane inmates, crazed convicts and condemned criminals with nothing to lose before they walk the “last mile” to sit on top of Old Smokey, the world’s most excruciatingly painful electric chair.
Horror in Wax
Location: Sound Stage 20
The classic monsters themselves are all here… carved in wax, sculpted in resin and frozen paraffin… perfectly preserved at every moment tragedy struck. But this twisted enterprise was not abandoned — instead it became home to a deranged menagerie of the bizarre who lure guests inside for purposes that will become terrifyingly clear.
Horror Nights Nightmares
Location: Sound Stage 44 (Herc & Xena)
Come face to face with your worst HALLOWEEN HORROR NIGHTMARES… The Director, The Caretaker, Eddie, and Jack are all waiting to take you on a little stroll down Memory Lane. Spend a little quality time “behind the scenes” with your favorite icon of Halloween Horror Nights past – they’re waiting for you on the very sets that made them infamous… up close and this time, it’s personal.
Field of Screams
Location: Suess Backlot
Stay off the path that is twisted and worn. Where stalks all grow tattered and torn. For all those who do, stay lost and forlorn. Singing forever the Rhyme of the Corn.
Location: Lost Continent/New York Backlot
An ominous industrial landscape of rusty trucks, stacked freight containers, and burning buses, The Fright Yard is infested with the worst society has to offer. You suddenly find yourself caught between “survivor clans” where The Demented lie in wait for The Twisted and both tribes are waiting for you. Armed with chainsaws and flame-throwers, they hide, lurk, and stalk guests in this heavy metal maze. Even with police choppers hovering above, this is a twisted and terrifying turf war that has no rules.
Midway of the Bizarre
Hurry, hurry, hurry! Step right up and step right in… and get lost in a place where childhood dreams grew up to be nightmares and the nightmares are real. Old carnivals never die… old circuses do not just go away… and old sideshows play on forever in the Midway of the Bizarre. This is the place where the oddities are normal… and YOU are on display for them. Step into the hypnotic light of the midway and your journey is complete – a one way trip to the Breaking Point of no return.
Point of Evil

And now that power erupts in blinding explosions of electricity that flash across the night sky, pulling all toward the ultimate pinnacle of fascination and horror. Feeding on the fear of Halloween Horror Nights guests past and present, Point of Evil “reaches” out with long fingers of Hellfire lightning to drain you of the very last drop of courage and strength. See for yourself where the breaking point lies.
