from what i heard they turned off the butt rock blasting throughout the park and now it's a more creepy piano theme with chance occasionally laughing!! i'm really excited if this is a permanent thing because the music is what was ruining it for me

It seems they made some changes based on feedback of last weekend. They for sure toned down the rock/electro (there was still some but not as much, and not nearly as much of the Chance butting in. She's still there from time to time)

They also brought out the blood bag jello shots which were replaced last week with regular shots in test tubes. The girls still wear more clown like attire, but now have the carts of blood bags. I guess that was a huge complaint last week.

Quickie review!

Lunatics Playground - Worst maze of the event. Definitely could tell they wanted to save money by reusing Alice 3D props.

TCM - The leatherface scare actors were HUGE. I thought I was legitimately going to die when he came charging at me during the metal door scene.

Halloween - More faithful to the second movie compared to Hollywood's event, but it was less intense and creative. Lots of repeating hallways/rooms. Michael scare actors were also very small. Hollywood is miles ahead on this one.

Exorcist - Orlando's version is SO MUCH better. Scared me a lot, and the transition rooms and effects looked much better than ours.

AHS - One really damn good scare with the freak under the wooden wagon before the Freakshow facade. Overall solid maze but Hollywoods was much better.

Tomb of the Ancients - WOW! Could've been really cheesy but ended up being in my top 3. Felt more claustrophobic than it was because of the crap hanging everywhere and the scared were firing on all cylinders everywhere.

Ghost Town - Air blast gun scare made me poop myself.  Great sets, fun maze overall. Not super scary though.

Krampus - Assuming we went through during a cast change, but majority of the scared were from elves. Hollywood's facade, puppets, scares and set design was much better. Still will give this another shot tomorrow.

The Walking Dead - Enjoyed this years version a lot , especially compared to last year which I hated. Loved the sewers segment and thought all the scare actors were on point.

Krampus is just like that. 90% is elves. there is one room with some of the toys but thats the only one. Hollywood has a more complete house. I dont think you went during cast change.
Ive done it different days and it's mostly elves.

Yeah I saw the bear and Jack in the box in the attic scene but they didn't pop out while we were in the room. They were just standing there.

Damn that sucks. Not sure why they decided to not have Krampus pop out at all. So weird. Lol

Hollywood did a better job with some of the variety in costumes. they have 2 or 3 Krampus actors as well.

Yeah, it's weird. I liked the house personally because it had the same charm and stuff as the movie but no actual moving Krampus is weird. Though I did think the fake out scare was clever.

3rd year coming to Orlando's event and I think Hollywood actually had a stronger year. I never thought that would happen to be honest. Lol But this year still was really great!

anyone know if their actually checking ID's for the florida resident discount.  My parents live down here and i've been coming down the last couple years for HHN, saw this year they changed the rules for the discount, but was wondering if they were actually being militant about it.  He already bought 2 tickets with the resident discount so at this point going and getting in is going to be a crap shoot really

Have to say I really enjoyed this year! Was there 22-25 and had a great time with my gf. On our first night (Thursday) by 10:30 we saw both shows and Went through 5 houses. My only complaint was the people themselves, way too many drunk idiots running amuck, my gf is really petite and if I didn't have her right Infront of me people would just run into her because they weren't paying attention. As the days went on we left earlier and earlier because the crowds seemed to get hammered earlier everyday, heck at our Bill and Ted show some guy was escorted out by the cops because he was black out drunk and passing out. We happened to get the last AP HHN t-shirt off the mannequin, do they run out quickly every year? Already looking forward to next year!

I was there during that show! I felt bad for the performers because everyone started paying attention to him instead and it was during the finale.

I hear all these complaints about drunk people(which I get and hate when they are assholes to the actors) but honestly going to Epcot at New Years Eve is two to three times worse.

I have never really had an issue with drunks at HHN. I know how to spot them. Hell Ive dealt with them in other cities. I dont know. Like the guy above, my wife is small as hell so Im always on the look out too. Maybe Im just lucky.

By any chance did you wear a t-shirt from this forum? I was on the boat to horror nights and there was someone with their family, the father was wearing a horrornightmares.com t-shirt!

Agreed I haven't really dealt with anyone too obnoxious. If anything, our event in Hollywood has WAY more drunks and our event is dry. Lol Everyone just pregames it at Citywalk. The crowd in Orlando is tame in comparison.

Seems like a silly move on Hollywoods part. Having people SHOW UP drunk means they are acting up as soon as they walk in the door AND Uni is missing out on a ton of money. Has HW always been dry?

Yeah it's surprising they're willing to sacrifice all that potential profit. I believe they have been dry since 06' when the event was brought back.

Worst thing I saw this year: woman behind me in Tomb of the Ancients hitting the scare actors with a half full bottle of water.

Best drunk interaction for me so far was in the Walking Dead. The woman right behind me screaming what every room was: "OH! THIS IS THE SEWERS!!!! WE'RE IN THE SEWERS NOW!! IT'S THE SEWERS FROM THE SHOW!!!!! IT'S DALE'S RV!!!  ALEXANDRIA!!!!" etc. Awesome.

What the actual fuck. Did she get kicked out at least? That's so messed up, and it sounds like it wasn't just one scareactor either. People like this don't deserve to be at the event.

Saw a guy get hauled off in cuffs, driven off in a cruiser. Wonder if the same guy.

Later that night, near the end, guy in Monsters Cafe mens room was openly bragging about how he punched a scare-actor but the cops let him go.

My fear is that hot, humid weather and ridiculously long lines breed stupidity.

If I saw a guy punch a scareactor, I'd kick the abuser in the balls.

A friend told me it's a bad year to be a short scareactor (i.e. a Reagen or an elf in Krampus). They're taking quite a bit of abuse.

The scareactors are so amazing, it's always such a shame to see them treated this way :(
