  1. I think she is from The Haunting of Hill House
  2. Late announcements are what they used to do. We would all sit on this website speculating until the big midnight website reveal. A rumor would pop up saying it would be a certain day at midnight and we would all jump in the "chat" and speculate until the actual release. Having one big announcement in July or August is the best way to do it. Aren't you more excited not knowing what houses we will see? It builds the anticipation.
  3. Lol I’m not gate-keeping. At the time of posting this I was looking through my old photos and watching videos of HHN pre 2009. Was feeling nostalgic.
  4. Agreed. They do everything for the GP, and nothing for horror fans. House of 1000 Corpses was the one thing they did for us last year.
  5. I don’t think I’ll be skipping any year for a long time time. But with that being said, what would have me skip 30? The event would have to be super generic. Not even mention that it’s the 30th. Have no original houses. And all the houses they did use would have to be some dumb borderline horror movies that all the dumbass Facebook lol omg fans begged to see. You know, the fans that see a horror movie and run to the HHN Facebook page and post “ Omg I just saw (insert horror movie) and it should totally be a house this year lol.” Even then, I might have to go just once to see it.
  6. I feel like Marketing has screwed the event up. I wish the event still did fun things for the true fans, and had great websites.
  7. I loved the first house but I’m curious how they tell the story for this one. I feel like the WWII setting was better fitting. But hey, I could be wrong. I hope my assumptions are proven wrong.
  8. Have you seen the movie they made from the album? It’s super bizarre, but interesting. If you haven’t seen it, I recommend checking out it. I don’t think that clue has to do with it but interesting idea. Heres the trailer to that movie: https://youtu.be/PEQEgpyrQ3Q
  9. Yeah if they do it this year, it will definitely be the first announcement for hype. Its crazy how busy the park has gotten these past few years. I remember when the longest wait for a house was 90 min. Now it makes me cherish my express pass every time I go. ST and other IPs are what’s causing the crowds and I don’t see them having a year without a big IP again. Eventually I’m assuming they will open both parks for the event because it will be too unbearable in one park. Sorry for the crowd rant. Thinking of ST just makes me think of the crowds.
  10. All good except for Stranger Things. That’s meh, and Halloween ugh. No more Halloween please. Unless it’s based on the Rob Zombie remake back to 29 spec: last years Originals were fantastic. I always love the original houses but this past year they were so great. And the Facebook “omg lol” crowd actually seemed to like the originals which is very good for the event. Hopefully we will get some bangers next year
  11. All this talk about 30 is getting me hyped. But we better see the fab 4 each have their own house. Also let’s get some houses back from the 90s and early 2000’s. I don’t want a repeat with 25 and AWIL, what I mean is getting a house a year or 2 old and redoing it. Now to 29, I wouldn’t mind seeing Happy Deatb Day 2U being a House depending on the movie. I really enjoyed the first one. As far as the movie goes, I would have liked to see more gore and rated R instead of PG-13. Othee than that I haven’t really thought of what I would like to see
  12. FNAF?? Heres my house list. 1. Slaughter Sinema 2. Dead Exposure 3. Seeds Of Extinction 4. Poltergeist 5. Scary Tales 6. Carnival Graveyard 7. Blumhouse 8. Trick R Treat 9. Stranger Things 10. Halloween 4
  13. I feel like they have mostly listened to the general public the whole time. It just feels more prevalent now.
  14. You don’t want Happy death Day but you want April Fools Day? Lololol that’s funny
  15. Prison Nightmare- Lane Prison is one of the largest prisons in the country and shut down Cell Block H for sanitary reasons 10 years ago. But the new warden doesn’t care about that so he has thrown his most insane inmates into that cell block. Because the cell block has been inhabited for 10 years the system wasn’t working right for the cells so the prisoners have escaped and are running the cell block. They call is Cell Block Hell. See what the prisoners have done to the place and guards as you experience Cell Block Hell. This is truly a prison nightmare.
  16. 2006 was my first year, and this was the second house I went through. I loved that house and all the movies. But I do agree with you, Psychoscareapy and Screamhouse were my top 2. 2007- that was a pretty good house from what I remember 2008- The Hallow and Dead Exposure were both great houses. 2009- that was garbage, the only good scare was the plush monster, if anyone remembers that one. And OP, I agree with you. All the Originals were great and the IP were garbage lol
  17. So I have been thinking about this topic for a while and finally decided to make the thread. So the question is, has social media changed HHN? The answer is yes in my opinion. But the better question is has it changed it for better or worse? Let’s discuss it. Now for me, I have been posting on HHN forums since 2006, way back on IOACentral. Shoutout to anyone that was on there, but I have been on this forum since the beginning. All of us have posted what we have wanted to see. I’m not on the forums as much as I used to be, but I haven’t seen any ideas implemented for the actual event. Now, with social media I have. For some reason, back in 2006-2010 nobody talked about HHN. (Unless you were on the forums) but now on Facebook, there is a huge discussion page that people post regularly on. I didn’t see this thing blow up until 2015. So you might ask, what’s my evidence that social media has changed the event? Here it is. The year is 2015, HHN 25. Jack has a show and Chance is in it. She was awesome, I have wanted her to be an icon since 2007. But all the “lol omg” teens on Facebook spammed “Chance should be an icon.” And what happened in 2016.... Chance was an icon. 2016 we saw AOV for the first time. Once again the Facebook warriors screamed for them to come back. They were also saying B&T wasn’t funny and that show should go away. 2017- Farewell tour for B&T and AOV was back. We also got a great Trick R Treat scarezone. And again we got “TrT should come back and AOV is amazing and should be back” 2018- AOV is back and TrT is a house. Ok so most of the FB warriors scream about the stuff during/post the event. I haven’t gathered what their screams are yet but I’m sure it’s about bringing ST back, and let’s face it, it will be back for season 2. It was a huge selling point. So so after all my rambling, in my opinion These changes are bad. The “lol omg” Facebook fans have dumb ideas. They don’t know about the event and ask for stupid stuff. Maybe I’m just an old HHN vet that’s just grouchy. That is a high possibility. But their words are much louder than ours. Honestly I just want to see a great backstory and a great website and I’ll be happy. Thanks for reading my rant. I want to see what you guys think.
  18. This is the first year since 2011 that I couldn’t attend EP. lots of emotions seeing all my friends posting about it on all social media. Normally I hate any type of spoilers but I read a few reviews already. Saw 1 house list. I’ve heard good and bad things. But honestly I’m not making any assumptions until Friday night. On paper, the event looks amazing. But I guess we will all find out soon enough!
  19. Side Note: I love Sleepaway Camp! Anyways, I think that the majority of fans of the event that are on the Facebook page are starting to realize that the Original houses are usually better. Not always though. For example in 2014 when we got the first Halloween house, it was the best that year.... But I am seeing more posts and speculation about the originals. I have a full post/thread I want to start about how social media has influenced and changed HHN as a whole, but this is not the place for that. But the more people talk about the originals the more we will see them. Of course there will always be IPs but maybe the number of them will eventually drop. Advertising. Something that Orlando did so well. And I truly miss it. They had the best websites, commercials, and billboards. Their marketing was too notch. But going back to what I was saying above, that’s one of the things that social media has changed about this event. The best build up/website they have done (in my opinion) was 2008. It was fantastic. But we haven’t seen anything like that in a long time. 2006 was fun and had cool animations/sound effects, 2007 had fun games to play, 2009 had that model of the theater they used. But since then? It’s sad not seeing commercials anymore, and billboards. I would always get hyped seeing them while driving to work. It made me so excited about the event. But I honestly would be happy with them doing a crazy good website again. Alright, rant over. I will save it for my post/thread.
  20. Do you mean were there spoiler posts last year? Or do you just want info about the EP? I went last year so I can help
  21. If it’s done right, yes. But I prefer the house to have a linear story. BoH didn’t do well for me. So we will see how I feel about it this year.
  22. Yeah BoH was pretty terrible. I’m pretty sure I put it at the bottom of my list last year. AvED was close behind it. Purge is definitely overdone. Not as overdone as TWD was but I’m ready for something new. I wish the Blumhouse House was a highlight to just 1 of their films that was released for the year. I said earlier in the thread that I like my houses to have a linear story and Chris called me out by saying I probably didn’t like Silver Screams and All Nite Die-In because they weren’t linear either. But I actually liked those houses, I’m a hypocrite. And I’m ok with that. PS- Hi Chris *tackles* Edit- here is my house ranking list from last year. I guess I did put HoB above AvED. Oh well, they were both bad lol 1. Scarecrow: The Reaping 2. Hive 3. American Horror Story 4. The Fallen 5. Dead Waters 6. Saw 7. The Shinning 8. Horrors of Blumhouse 9. Ash vs Evil Dead
  23. Last years Blumhouse House left a bad taste in my mouth so this one unfortunately is at the bottom of my list. Partially due to the fact that I like my houses to have a linear story. Not jumping from completely different movies. I’m hoping this surprises me though. TFP could have some awesome sets with close quarters and great masks.
