  1. Hello everyone, I'm hoping everything turned out good got everyone. I ended up getting cast as a Blackout Performer and I'm a little disappointed as I wanted to dress up and actually scare. I didnt have a fitting so it's not looking good but I'm a little confused as I'm 6'1 and I know they usually reserve the big guys for the 'big bads'. Is it possible that I could end up with a costumed role or not at all? My maze dosent have any creatures or anything I can think of thatd be a blackout. I may ask for a recasting if that's the case
  2. Best of luck to you. Honestly, the most important thing is to just show the ability to break out of your comfort zone. It's better to overact then underact. Be loud, animated, and really get in the spirit of scareacting. It helps to have a routine in mind or a specific character. They rotate the audition type every year as well so try to be adaptable.
  3. Everyone Auditions have just went live. I've got my audition date set but I can only work 1 or 2 days a week of the event. Just Sundays and Friday/Saturday so we'll see. I think I'll probably get rejected because of that. Anyway, nobody made a thread so here it is
  4. Damn, well I guess I'm sitting out yet another year. Bummer. :\ I'm still waiting for the final cooper maze anyway. So whenever that hits, hopefully I can at least work that year.
  5. Dang, good job everyone. Looks like I'm the only one that didn't get in this year. Does anybody know if they are allowing re-auditions this year and if your availability really plays that much into whether your in or not? I might re-audition during the mid-event pickups if thats the case.
  6. This year they're doing "scare the cone" and the monster transformation. I didn't get in this year. No golden ticket. But I think its because my availability was so restrictive. There was probably like 30 check-marks on that paper. lol Anyway good luck to everyone else.
  7. That's what I was thinking. Last year I did it was when This is The End was going on. I'll go ahead and audition in that case. Would be nice supplemental income. :p
  8. Auditions are next month! I'm thinking about auditioning. I'm currently working a full-time job with only Sundays and Mondays off and work the morning shift on the weekends. I work in Glendale and can probably get to HHN on Saturdays and Sundays, probably by 7pm on Saturdays but I don't know how many people have a call-time that late. Perhaps for pool. Anyway, who else is auditioning? Any tips or anything?
  9. Thanks guys. I work Tuesday - Saturday. I'm thinking worse comes to worse, maybe I can get Saturday off and come and work Sundays, and Saturdays. Those are sometimes busy days and worse comes to even worse, maybe I can get a earlier shift for Friday's, if not have them off. But I have sometime to think about it. Maybe I'll hit the pickup auditions this year and they can stick me in for the last couple days like 2014. Hahah, got some time to think about it.
  10. Hello all, just looking for some advice here. I was going to do HHN last year but there was an issue with my paperwork so I couldn't. This year, I had to sit out because I work a 9 - 5 and there is just no way I could muster the stamina. Tried that before and had to drop out mid season. Anyway, a couple questions... for those of you that have a day job, how do you make it work? Do you have to work the whole event and all it's days or can you do partial if you wanna get hired? What is your schedule like? I just really love doing this stuff and it breaks my heart to sit out a year lol. Especially when Jason is in the event. Lol any tips appreciated.
  11. So after HHN 2016, I soundhounded the song that was playing in the Terror Tram. Found a link to it. Here. After reading about the song. It is apparently about a mysterious old woman who kidnaps people and turns them into them into parts of her personal doll collection. And I thought what an incredible maze that could be. Especially with the music. The set designs could be fantastic, imagine all the twisted half-human, half-human scare actors, etc, etc. I'd pitch this to John Murdy but I doubt he'd listen we don't get original mazes often anyway in Hollywood. Anyway, I just wanted to share this amazing piece of music with you guys, mostly. If we did get a maze like this, how do you think it'd turn out?
  12. If you ask Murdy on Twitter, he's usually pretty good with that. I was wondering the same thing, I'm curious to know if the TT soundtrack was original or not as well.
  13. Krampus was probably my favorite. Its cool because you get a little taste of Christmas during HHN. Makes it kind of unique. Its cool having all the frozen things and Krampus himself just staring at you.
  14. Yeah, there is a big problem with managing capacity. Did anybody get a massive backup at Terror Tram? Those shipping crates are a neat idea but they need to figure out a way to hold people at the Plaza or disperse the crowds a bit more. Who's going on the 29th? I'm anticipating more manageable crowds. I'm trying to work this year but HR doesn't answer the phone so I guess I'm coming 2017 so I'll just enjoy it.
