  1. I got incredibly stoned before going in 2013. First house we hit was AWiL and it was insane. Not only was I disoriented, but felt anxious due to the mood and atmosphere of that house. I accidentally ran into the people in front of us due to the scares (apologies to those fans). I found it to be a lot of fun and a much different experience than going through the houses sober/tipsy. Im also considering bringing a pen with me this year to the event. I noticed lot of people had those at Hollywood’s event when I attended in 2016, and guests would hit pens in my room as I was scare acting at the event in Orlando last year - it was dark with lots of fog. Does anyone have have any advice/tips for bringing and using a pen at HHN?
  2. Aren't our originals typically last? If Blumhouse was held up, the originals would be too.
  3. Couldn't agree more about Barcelona. Going back to our topic... Still surprised Blumhouse hasn't been announced yet. I'm starting to think there's a reason for the delay. Perhaps something changed and we have more than Sinister, Purge, and Insidious in the house.
  4. You're going to have a blast! I saw him in Barcelona last year and it was amazing. Highly recommend catching his live show.
  5. Hopefully this means more small stage shows, a la Bayou of Blood, in scare zones. I'd like to see more cohesion within the shows and story lines in the future. Especially shows that add to the atmosphere or theme.
  6. Also hope it's not MiB. When I was there the weekend of my orientation I was SO CLOSE to maxing out. Also went in T2 for the first time in a while and it was looking rough. Game plan for rehearsal weekends: Dueling Dragons & MiB as much as possible.
  7. I'm actually all for how marketing handled this; makes a stronger argument for handing this stuff back over to creative.
  8. Thanks for the tips. I have an IP I want to write a spec treatment for, as well as an original concept. Don't want to say too much until I get the ball rolling - would rather share after it's said and done.
  9. Just curious... if if I were to try writing spec house treatments, what are some guidelines to follow? By that I mean how many scenes? Minimum number of pages? Any specific formatting - i.e. settings on Final Draft or Word?
  10. I finally get to disagree with you on something!! It Follows has a great original premise, excellent atmosphere and suspense, and the soundtrack is badass. The only part of the film I dislike is the pool scene, which wasn't the original ending.
  11. A scare actor got you in Faceoff? Or did they get you in line for a Krusty burger in 2012?
  12. Just realized Blumhouse produced Whiplash. Very good movie - not horror, but a solid film. They also did The Tooth Fairy starring The Rock. Might be in the house, since that movie is horrible. *Whiplash drum rim shot*
  13. Which is why we loved the websites/marketing so much. Even if you didn't go, you got to experience the event in a sense. The HHN 18 website scared the hell out of me.
  14. Believe me, I know. And for the record, I'm not advocating either way. I'm just telling it like it is. All I can contribute to the debate is my own personal experience, which is this: I became obsessed with this event more than a decade before ever attending because of the intricate story telling and elaborate website design Universal used to create for HHN. Without it, I would have never gone - let alone be working the event this year.
  15. Marketing doesn't care about us, man. Majority of event goers will find out about the event in August when everything is announced. It's been the same story for years now: marketing sucks, and creative should take over the website and hype up the reveal. They've heard us complain, and nothing has changed.
