zombieman Posted September 7, 2019 Author Share Posted September 7, 2019 What would be VERY helpful is if someone knowledgeable was able to write a sniffer to poll the app site every ten minutes, and compiled these in a database. I am not that knowledgeable, but I bet more than half the people here could do it. I'd be glad to take the data and crunch it if someone would collect. Honestly, my data above is just me being bored... Also, I do have quite a bit of data from the 2018 area for both Hollywood and Orlando. That's why I want to collect this stuff - be able to predict traffic patterns based on house locations. I mean, there's a lot of theories here as but they are based on personal experiences. It is incredibly simple, and you can even do it from home: Open the Universal Orlando App, and go to the HHN portion. There will be a tab for House wait times. Take a screen shot of the wait times. You will need to scroll down and take repeated screenshots. Alternatively, start a screen capture video and just scroll. The timestamp will be according to your timezone, so you may need to adjust Just cut and paste my list and update the day, time and wait time once you have a bunch of data My plan is to compile these results and post some wait time graphs. I think you will like these. Homework: Can someone please let me know the duration of AOV and Mayhem show? I want to show how correlate wait times to when shows let out. So far my crowd calendar estimator has been spot on (see the HHN meetup thread to see what I am talking about) Finally, can someone take the task of trying to create a sniffer to automatically poll wait times every 10 min? Bring out your inner hacker! Seems to me that it's as simple as finding a way to show a mobile site on your PC, decoding it, and recording the data. littlegreenghouls Posted September 11, 2019 Share Posted September 11, 2019 the lagoon show is close to 20 mins and aov is something like 40 mins 10 mins preshow and 30 min show. according to the showtimes, during the waiting times, around showtimes its like 30 min difference. yet the data doesnt count for people leaving or taking a break. usually it's easy to see the difference cause once a show lets out usually tents get more business. Today I am going to be totally anal about this as I am taking ten minute snaps throughout the evening. one thing I am seeing is that there are occasional obvious mistakes. Example: Graveyard games had been a consistent 45 min, then went to 20 min for a ten minute period, then back to 45. Now, it could be that the 45 min was stale and diminishing, and suddenly a "correct" wait time appeared, but back to 45 min again? So we take the app data with a grain of salt. However, my 10 min snapshot is looking really interesting, and I will make some graphs to share. I am charting things like: Wait times of each individual house through the night Wait time of all houses (as an average) through the night Wait time for SS houses (as an average) through the event Wait time for MIB Tents (as an average) through the event Wait time for Barney area houses (as an average) through the event How do showtimes affect wait times? I see some clear correlations. Parkwide regional crowd flows, in terms of house waits. This one is REALLY cool. Proves what we already know, but clearly shows it. With datapoints every ten min I think I can get a reasonable idea of this particular night. With datapoints for all nights.....this could be really cool. One thing I can say for certain is that Thursday Sep 12 is a FANTASTIC night to visit HHN Orlando. Wait times are very livable. Best of all - Fast & Furious is only a 5 min wait!!!!
