(ugg sorry for vanishing for a few days. moving to FL = internet not set up in my apartment yet. but I think i'm okay now. it's a little unstable, but it's working now)

Anyways, It's good to know that online and on ground stuff will both be available this year, so that's good. We do know that they read these forums. they aren't stupid, they like to pick up the clues, and since the vault is gone, this is the new main forum. Plus, they look at our responses and reactions. it's why you don't post information you're not allowed to on here. I'm even wary to post the responses I've gotten from the LT people on facebook, since it's hard to tell what should be posted or not.

I had the same thought and stopped posting the responses.

Agreed. I have stuff I'm itching to get in the open (especially with the way things move in circles speculation wise) But no way I would do it... But I'm guilty of hinting from time to time :)

I like the pandora's box idea!

Here's what the wiki says about pandora's box: After Prometheus stole fire from heaven, Zeus sought reprisal by handing Pandora to Epimetheus, the brother of Prometheus. At the same time, Pandora was given a jar that she was ordered not to open under any circumstances. Despite this warning, overcome by curiosity Pandora opened the jar. Upon doing so, the evils contained within escaped into the world.

Since the faces can be seen within the lantern the idea isn't entirely implausible. What if the past icons have been trapped inside the lantern which could be a pandora style box. And someone is going to open it - possibly the person from the LT audio transcriptions?

That seems plausible enough. Cause the person in the transcriptions said it was something he hadn't seen before. Well... we've had the reverse effect of what you just said before.

Explanation:

2008, we were sucked into a world- Bloody Mary's world inside the mirror. If the lantern acts as a sort of Pandora's Box idea instead of sucking/bringing you into the world inside the lantern (which is what happened in '08, except with a mirror) it will unleash the inside world upon you. Which... technically we haven't seen before.

I don't know. I could be off track. The fact that the person, whomever it is, stressed that it was something unseen before leads me to believe that it's gonna be more in the vein of unleashing something, instead of bringing you inside, because as stated before we have done that before.

Plus Pandora's Box has to deal with Greek Mythology (Gods/Goddesses, etc) and many of this years clues seem to have some kind of religious connotations with them. Gabriel Fell, the alpha and omega symbols, etc.

But if it is in the style of Pandora's Box, I'm interested as into who put all the "evil" inside of it in the first place.

Does anyone find it strange that Steerington is the only remaining of the Senior Staff?

Could he be the Regional Cell Director whom was escorted out and has taken over the LT site? disgruntled employee? Who is in fact the leak that was spoken of? Therefore feeding us information.

Already asked... the answer is to come when the time is appropriate

Yea, I noticed that it has to deal with Greek Mythology also so maybe we're on to something...?

And I also got the same feeling that something is being unleashed (rather than sucked in) from the lantern when the guy sees it.

Moonfall, if the Facebook responses are from LT characters created by and maintained by USO, why would you fear posting them? I have to believe those responses have been sanitized before the reach you - at that point it becomes marketing material.

Well, hopefully LT will have jobs for us, the viewers at home, to still do like in '08 with the CROs.

I'm still kicking myself for not helping with the investigation more in '08, I started following it about halfway into the event. -_-

I really wanted to get more into it in 08 but, I could only participate on the forums, I live in CA and my cell is a pay per use type.

This is going to seem really nerdy but with some of the ideas that are floating around, it sounds like a few scenarios from World of Darkness.

I don't think posting responses would be a problem. After all, the entire idea behind the Collective is for people to work together and share information.

Uhm..hi ^^

I'm a huge hhn nerd and ive been reading this aswell as every other hhn scrap i can find, but i was wondering if someone could answer a question for me? It's a really noob question but I keep seeing CRO's or something along with another acronym, and although I kinda get theire jobs could someone just gimme a quick explanation on what they are? Or even just what the letters stand for? Much obliged :D

P.S. Also idk if it means anything, but my obsession with greek mythology makes me have to point out that Pandoras curiosity wasn't natural, it was a curse from one of the female gods (pretty sure it was Hera) who was jealous. Prolly doesn't mean a thing but...idk mayhaps :P

P.S.S. JWFearman and Dr.Jimmy, you guys are my hhn heroes :D

Probably nothing, but I was lloking at the polaroids on the HHN site. I have read about examinations of the Shadow Creek pic and the segment of the house design which resembles ShadyBrook.... so I focused on the skull, the elongated skull like those found around the world. Mainly Peruvian and Inca skulls. Some linked them to people binding royal childrens' heads, etc etc... the reason I'm bringing it up is the why some have classified the different types of skulls found: cone-head, "J", "M" and........... jack-o-lantern....

again, probably nothing, but wanted to put it out there.

Because of the nature of some of the responses.

I'm currently studying Mythology and I believe you are right. Isn't Hera always the root of the trouble? ;)

Anyway, if for some reason this was the track in which they were going in regards to the Lantern's story, I'd say its more of an "enticed curiosity", in which the owner/caretaker of the Lantern is somehow seduced into opening it? Once again, pure speculation.

If we can pull out anything from this crazy speculation, I'd say that we could definitely stick "Hell breaking loose (in some manner)" and "Greek mythology inspiration" as some very plausible ideas that may come out of the investigation. If anything, these are themes I've been seeing from what others have been speculating.

Also, giant tents over the parks.

But I'm done with speculating for now, I'll save it up for when these photos are released. :)

I don't get how Universal is not telling us the whole story. They haven't told us ANY story, have they? I mean, besides a cryptic sign, a random elevation drawing, and a picture of a pinhead mummy...they've said nada. How can they be lying when they haven't said anything?

In order for the collective to function, it needs DATA. Not that pinheaded mummies aren't nice, but they offer precious little by way of information. You've got us at the trough, LT...now FEED us! I grow weary of all this stalling.

CFO stands for Collective Field Operative. Those are the ones that show up at the event and investigate within the park. CROs are Collective Remote Operative, and work in tandem with CFOs while solving clues on the LT web site, generally from the passworded section.

I'm flattered :)

I agree BSquare lack of info has stalled my interest... But I believe that shall be remedied shortly... Or at the very least they will give enough to placate.

I'm ashamed that I didn't know that. When do you think we'll be able to apply for those positions?

Huh. I guess I'm just having trouble wrapping my head around why that would be the case. The only two reasons I can think of would be A) the character specifically asked that the response not be shared, or B) the response was OOC (out-of-character).

And I can't imagine them breaking character, so...
