Hi All,

 

I have done HHN in Orlando a few times so I'm aware of what the event entails however I'm a tad confused on the tickets, I'm hoping someone can help.

 

If I book the RIP tour is entry included or do I need to by a standard ticket aswell?

 

Am I better off doing the RIP tour or Unlimited express? Also does the Unlimited express include entry or is that additional also?

 

Tickets go on sale tomorrow, does anyone know what time as I'm in the UK so need to work out what time it will be here!

I just ran across this, so you may already have your questions answered.

 

It's understandable that the Hollywood tickets seem confusing.  Orlando get quite a few customers form the UK, and they take great care to cater to them.  Not the case with Hollywood.

 

Unfortunately, Orlando and Hollywood tickets are run by two groups, and they do things completely different from one another.

In Orlando, admission is sold independently of tours and upgrades.  So if you buy a guided tour, it does NOT include an admission ticket.

In Hollywood, EVERY upgrade includes admission.

 

So let's take a look at one specific day (I will choose Saturday October 19 as an example) and see what options are available for Hollywood:

General Admission: $102 - no perks

Universal Express:  $239 - Admission + one-time Express per house ($137 for a one time Express pass)

Express Unlimited:  $279 - Admission + UNLIMITED Express per house ($177 for an unlimited Express)

RIP Tour: $409 - Admission + valet parking + private 6 hour tour + buffet dinner + private lounge with drinks + Backlot tour + UNLIMITED Express

After 2PM Day + Night: $147 - Daytime (after 2pm) admission to park + HHN Admission (note that daytime rides begin to close around 4PM, so that's only a couple of hours)

Universal Express after 2PM: $279 - Same as after 2PM Day+Night + HHN Express (one time per house).  Cannot be used for Express during daytime

 

Unlike Orlando, Hollywood never sells standalone Express passes online.  They do sell them in the park, but they are often sold out.  Unlike Orlando, they sell a very limited number of them, meaning if you have an Express pass in Hollywood, you will never wait in line.  Ever.  The one exception might be the new Jurassic World ride, which just opened up.  Even the Express line may be long on this one.

 

That is all well and good - unless you have a Hollywood Frequent Fear Pass...  Unlike Orlando, they don't sell FFP with an Express option (free Express every night you go).

So if you are a FFP holder, your only hope of buying Express is in the park, which means you have to go there and pay for parking to find out if they even have any for sale.

 

In my opinion, Express Unlimited is currently the best way to do HHN Hollywood.  Do it on peak night as well.  Reason being you are going to see no lines (when standby it at its longest) and all houses will be fully staffed.  In Hollywood, walking from exit to entrance of a house takes about 3 minutes. In Orlando, it can be a 15 minute walk.  So you can do the 10 houses in Hollywood 3-4 times each EASILY with an Unlimited Express.  Assuming an 8 hour HHN night, that would be on average 5 house entries per hour, plus a break for bathrooms and food, and skipping the awful show.

 

If one has never been to any HHN before, the RIP tour is a great way to go.  But if you have been to HHN before, the tour might be a bit much.
