Did you read the scarezone description? Its not that you're in a clown's lair. Its that a gang of clowns have taken over New York. Which... is what it looks like. Lets be honest. Theming has always been pretty light on NY street. Aside from the gates of hell, WTH only had a few signs, a hearse, and a few other high up props. (Also, some static dummies near the candy shop.)

To me it looks like a almost exact replicate of WTH. I was hoping more for a demented carnival atmosphere. And where does the Klownz and fire tie in at? I'm also hoping for some blacklights. It's as if they wanted to do WTH again but wanted to make a new SZ on it.

Seriously, Klownz don't fit in at all on NY Street. Especially without black light.

Should've been in front of Krustyland. At least then the Simpsons would seem a bit more menacing to go to.

Trev Is right Murdy said it was supposed to be like the Warriors almost there not Evil Clowns there a gang that dress like clowns

im thinking the fire towers were brought back due to high demand and they thought the fire tower just kind of worked best with klownz maybe? i dunno i kinda see how it works i mean they are taking over NY so maybe its supposed to kind of make it look like they are setting NY on fire or something? i dunno either way its still gonna be a funn SZ i think. as much as i hate clowns it'll be entertaining.

I have to be the one to say it: but why are these clowns causing chaos? (not like it matters, but let's just theorize a bit)

I'll go first -- they're not really clowns. Just Clockwork Orange inspired guys who donned clown make up and decided to paint the town red.

thats pretty much it a bit of the Old Ultra-Violence eh Billy Boy?

Wait.

Isn't that what clowns are?

I think what he means is that there not circus folks there just a Psychopathic Gang with clown make-up

... I suppose trev has come across some odd clowns in his life. From my experience they r paid child enetertainers with the intent of spreading joy by doing magic, getting into follies or just looking really rediculous.... Not terrorize city streets with chainsaws...

Then Jack is just a poser to you, then? Joker? Killer Klowns from Outer Space?

If that's all there was to clowns then why would so many people be afraid of them? And by the way, did you completely forget the concept designs of the scareactors for that area? About a handful of them are in clown or circus-related outfits, including the design which had disappeared off the site a couple nights, Zobo. But really it is a gang that call themselves the "Klownz" and about half of them just put the makeup on while the others go more into the theme.

It works.

Could ANYONE point out to me any real life incidents of a group of clowns, or even just ONE clown, that went on a havoc, killing spree?

People are scared of clowns because, well, I can't find the right words for it other than - STUPID. I know that's harsh because it's someone's personal fears but really, how the hell did that even develop into one's psyche? Other than media, I can't think of anything to trigger this idea of scary clowns. I've asked some people before and they said, "it's because they're always happy." Um... okay, so are you scared of the giant heads at Disneyland too? Mickey, Minnie, Goofie, etc - - all have a planted smile on their face. Permanently.

They've easily manipulated this idea into something more menacing so other people could be scared too.

And I think it's easy to say that just because they're in clown costume doesn't make them actual clowns.

So I stand by what I initially said; I don't think they're supposed to represented as actual clowns, just a bunch of guys in clown costume causing havoc ala Clockwork Orange style.

I don't think one could find a group of disgruntled clowns to do such a mission anyway.

I know it's fictional and fun and that I'm reading too much into this but I just wanted to debate :)

Meh, it is what it is.. something to walk through while being annoyed by chainsaws and shrill screams of people around us.

I think that the whole fear of clowns thing can also be traced to you don't know what the person could look like under that grease paint & red nose. Pretty much just "I'm afraid of strangers" but with the easiest thing to force someone to be afraid of since everyone has seen at least one of them and are common. Now if someone did the whole murderous tweak onto mascots and drilled it into people's heads over the next few decades, then people would become afraid of them too.

I know I probably won't waste much time in "Klownz", it's only intro to me anyway. Hasn't seemed like something I'd linger in like Welcome to Hell and people watch since the unveiling..

Probably because they look like taxidermy treated children staring blankly ahead (or into your soul), especially if they're the right size and positioned in a very natural sitting pose. People can say they're haunted, or that since the imagination can work when you least expect it, say it did something it shouldn't have.... like smile, or blink, etc.

John Wayne Gacy.

Beat me to it !

What DTH means is that this Zone has nothing to do with carnivals or the circus. there not clowns that got paid to entertain children and snaped one day killing everyone their a gang that chooses to dress like clowns look the baseball Furries were not an actual Baseball players but did that stop them from wareing Uniforms and caring bats
