Ha well I don't live in Orlando or LA so I have no real connection to the parks other than what is posted on here so I have no clue lol! But the speculation is always fun. But do we have a definite no that Universal and Disney won't play nice at all when it comes to any of the horror properties Disney has acquired? I sure understand not sharing the Horror Made Here properties, WB is trying to get their name in the game. But like others have said 29 would be a great year to revisit Alien with its 40th anniversary. But also yes to Haunting of Hill House as Universal hopefully gained a good relationship with Netflix and HHN with Stranger Things this past year. However I think what Poltergeist showed me this year is that there can always be a property I won't be expecting that can make an appearance....shoot Poltergeist was so far off my radar that I wasn't even thinking of it in speculation/fantasy lists it was just so out of my mind. So I am hopeful we can keep fun and interesting properties rolling in with minimal repeats each year. Repeats/revisits will  happen I just don't want half of 28 in 29 again lol.

I don’t think anyone saw Poltergeist coming until May. Again, how many properties last year were being thrown around as possibilities? It was a damn fake news hurricane LOL.

Silver Screams technically wasn’t “original.” All of the movies it featured by their real names (The Strangers, Shaun of the Dead, The Thing) were officially licensed IPs.

So, basically, you’re probably not getting Silver Screams back.

What about the possibility of Split being part of a Horrors of Blumhouse house? I think that could be possible with Glass coming out next year.

I highly doubt that we get split.
I am doubtful that we would get another blumhouse house next year.

I know we won't get stranger thing street.

If you could get a sequel house / street  from the past  4 years , which one would you suggest?

^Dollhouse of the Damned or Tomb of the Ancients, for me. Those seemed incredible. Didn't have a chance to experience the event until this past year so really anything from 2017 (Hive, Scarecrow: TR, or Dead Waters) would catch my interest as well. I think this year's Twisted Tradition zone could be fleshed out into a solid original maze.

I doubt creative wants more Blumhouse, but that's really up to contracts between higher powers, unfortunately. I feel like Uni Classics will be saved until year 30, just a hunch.

Speculation:

  • Stranger Things Season 2: I would be shocked if it wasn't done next year. Hoping that if we get mega maze, that this is it. Have the first 1/3 best of season one and the back 2/3 season 2. Season 2 has much less to work off than season one in my opinion. I'm excited to see how they would do the levitation scene.
  • Happy Death Day 2U: Don't want it, but we're bound to get it. A popular series, getting an undeserved sequel. Will be a cheap house to make that can go in any location.
  • Killer Klownz or Chucky: One or the other, maybe both. Extremely popular zones from the past year going on the theme of using scarezones has houses. The 2009 Chucky house is one of my favorites of all time and would love another adaptation. Killer Klownz would be good and fairly inexpensive. Costumes are already made, another house that can go anywhere.
  • Other Blumhouse properties: Sinister deserves its own house, one of the very few modern horror films and even fewer Blumhouse films that are actually scary. The one room and hallway in Blumhouse 1 was a joke. Truth or Dare and Unfriended weren't terrible options for Hollywood just poorly executed. I wouldn't be upset if we saw one or both, but wouldn't be able to carry a full house individually. Ideal Blumhouse of Horrors lineup would be Hush/Belko Experiment/ Get Out. I'm not counting on Halloween 40 being at the event next year. Living preview for 5 Nights at Freddys may be in the cards for us as well
  • Classic: I do expect something classic next year. Either classic monsters or another title labeled as classic. Possibly Alien since its turning 40.
  • Other Universal Properties: Really hoping for the Strangers over anything. Another property deserving a full house that hasn't gotten it yet.
  • Sequels: Leave it to Cleaver and Silver Screams turn 10 next year, two fan favorites. I would also love a sequel to Interstellar Terror.
  • AHS: Not next year. Maybe 30?
  • Slaughter Sinema: I'm thinking we'll see a full on house based on a title used from last year. Amazon Cannibals, Swamp Yeti, and Sorority Sacrifice seem like the most doable.
  • Fractured Tales: These have been crowd pleasers: Beauty and the Beast or Tarzan/George of the Jungle would be excellent.

Wishlist:

  • Hostel: Easily the best torture porn movie. Would be easier to execute than Saw and more scary. Hollywood got it, why can't we?
  • House of Wax: Kind of campy but also could be made pretty scary. One of the first horror movies I saw.
  • Something M. Night Shyamalan: Preferably The Village.
  • April Fools Day: Cult Classic, has some really cool scenes that I'd like to see done.
  • Jeepers Creepers: This would be so much fun. Just don't include the third one.
  • Night of the Living Dead: Has to be done in black and white right?
  • Grindhouse: Gore for the sake of gore. Such a fun movie, very slaughter sinema-esque. Tarentino would never allow it though.
  • Original Evil Dead or Army of Darkness: Could always use more Ash
  • It/ Conjuring: Unlikely with what Warner Brothers is trying to do. But it would bring the people in and make me super happy.
  • Until Dawn: One of the best horror video games in recent memory. I can not hype it up enough. Some of these scenes were made for HHN.

You don’t want Happy death Day but you want April Fools Day? Lololol that’s funny

I too would love a sequel to Interstellar Terror. House that related to my fear of plane crashes (aviation disaster), which is one of my worst fears. The house made you want to get out ASAP, so the conga line actually HELPED make it scarier. So many cool effects: the exploding hallway, the electrocution, guy getting sucked out, mirror gorge, Roddy as captain ("I CARVED THESE INTO MY FACE!").

IT was such a criminally underrated house--it created a true sense of panic. Similar to Dinosaur, which isn't a very well-liked ride (honestly, despite how everyone talks about how they neutered it from its CTE form, Dr. Seeker's monologue was MUCH less urgent when it was CTE--so in at least one way, they actually made it more intense).

My idea is for a crossover with In-Between at 30, though I think if they bring back In-Between they'll want to make it as cheap as possible IF the 13 houses for 30 rumor is true, and IT would likely make that too expensive.

1. Dinosaur is the best ride in America.

2. Please let me be on a space ship.

All this talk about 30 is getting me hyped. But we better see the fab 4 each have their own house. Also let’s get some houses back from the 90s and early 2000’s. I don’t want a repeat with 25 and AWIL, what I mean is getting a house a year or 2 old and redoing it.

Now to 29, I wouldn’t mind seeing Happy Deatb Day 2U being a House depending on the movie. I really enjoyed the first one. As far as the movie goes, I would have liked to see more gore and rated R instead of PG-13.

Othee than that I haven’t really thought of what I would like to see

Indiana Jones: Temple of the Forbidden Eye would like a word. Spider-Man is also waiting in line.

Forbidden eye, Spider-Man, Tower of Terror and forbidden journey can all have words.  I’m just sad I’m not rich enough to try journey to the center of the earth yet.

Also, why are we talking 30?

Yeah, definitely more technologically impressive (based off of POVs--never been to CA). Forbidden Journey deserves a mention too.

All that said, Dinosaur is the closest thing Disney is ever going to have to HHN/HOS, unless they were to somehow bring back AE (I can dream, but THAT'S never going to happen).

Anyway, I don't think this year is that interesting to speculate, at least until we know more about the originals. I see 29 re-using a lot of properties from 28 to make room in the budget for a big year at 30, as well as the fact that they're kind of in a desert IP-wise right now. Keeping my fingers crossed for at least one of Hellraiser and Hill House!

Cause we're talking 30 (since we pretty much have a good idea already of the houses in 29), here's the HHN XXX Speculation Map Prototype! And this is with the big hope that 30 is dominant with originals.

IP's:

Stranger Things 3

Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers

Candyman (2020 Reboot)

Alfred Hitchcock's House of Horrors

Originals:

Terra Queen: Rise from the Ashes

Nightingales: Night Stalkers

RUN IV

Psychoscareapy: Origins

All Nite Die-In: Director's Cut

Scream House: Revived

Jack's Funhouse of Terror (3D House)

Dungeon of Terror: 30 Years Later

Yeah next year's gonna be a lot of fun to speculate. Especially with the likelihood of more than four originals, as opposed to 25.

Stranger Things 3 will very, VERY likely be an IP.

Isn't All Nite D I E In kind of obsolete at this point? Also, Body Collectors 3 kind of showed the origins of Shadybrook.

I'm listening to the soundtrack from Blood Thunder Alley from 15 and OMG it's awesome! I hope they do a similar zone with the same soundtrack and/or Demon Cantina house at 30. \m/

I had the idea for either a NG zone or open floor plan house taking place during the War of 1812. "Blood Splattered Banner"

-----------------------------------------------------

I have several other ideas, but I'll stop before L gets mad at me. :D

Oh yeah ST 3, let me add that in. Also, I thought Recollections was a sequel to Collections of the Past?

It took place in Shadybrook. It was a prequel to the PS houses.

I like to imagine that the violence of the later inmates of Shadybrook was the result of the vengeful spirits of the victims of Recollections, and thus the Collectors are somewhat responsible for the events of the entire PS series. (THIS PART IS PURELY MY SPECULATION THEY DID NOT ACTUALLY SAY THIS.)

That's not how the budgeting works. The availability of IPs is the bigger issue. Warner Bros is likely only interested in allowing their "lesser" IPs and anything that is controlled by a Disney subsidiary is a long-shot.

Yep. My point about IPs still stands. The well has really dried up.

Since they seem to have a good relationship with Netflix, as well as Dimension no longer being in...um...unsavory hands, might they take another stab at Scream?

They may try, though I'd be surprised if Dimensions agreed to based on how things played out last time.

Would the same apply to Hellraiser, since it's also owned by Dimension?

Different situation. Scream was complicated by the show and Dimension's desire to avoid conflicting imagery. Universal's own hubris made salvaging the situation impossible. Hellraiser will have no such issues. If anything, Universal playing "by the rules" with a simpler (rights-wise) IP may convince Dimension to give them a second chance.
