Grindhousehero13
Maybe just SES stage is closing on the 18th. Might be some behind the scenes prep work. I would assume Jabbawockeez does not need the set piece storage that SES does. Hell, there is no reason you can't just cut the intro and leave the sets on stage.true not like they would need the backstage area as much as say Bill and Ted.
Bourgeoised
ANYONE ATTENDING TONIGHT:Lankershim blvd. is currently shut down in both directions and there is no word on how long it will be closed. Plan accordingly.
hhnfanforever
I went to the event tonight and I have determined that the only bad thing is that in every single maze except Halloween they let an insane amount of people in and we were literally stopped in the same rooms for 20-30 seconds multiple times, I understand the lines need to keep moving but wouldn't it be even faster if they let 1 or 2 groups max go in and wait like 30 seconds in between like it would still be continuously moving. Idk it just seems like they could.
DTH316
Usually that is a problem at HHN, but I haven't encountered that the two times I've gone this year yet. Must've been because it's peak weekend and they're just trying to do their best to survive the crowds haha
foodstampsFTW
Not that anyone cares, but I finished writing my review of Orlando's event, so if anyone wants a different opinion of HHN 25, go check it out, I plan to write my Hollywood review soon

Freak
Well Crimson Peak bombed... wonder if this will dampen pre release mazes in the future. What a shame. I'll probably never get around to seeing it as I'm too busy and there are just too many movies out that I want to see. That's probably why it bombed; that, and the fact that the marketing didn't seem to deliver what they advertised, from what I hear. But yeah, this has got to be the end of promotional houses from Universal. The Thing was a flop. Dracula didn't do great, and then this bombed pretty bad. I can't imagine they will do that anymore after this.

foodstampsFTW
Forgot to mention this when I heard, but is anyone else pissed that Krampus is PG-13. Maybe I just expected it to be R and I'm disappointed

Maybe I just expected it to be R and I'm disappointed I had a feeling when I saw the trailer. It just didn't look very hardcore, but I was hoping they were just saving the good stuff for the movie. I'm kinda sad too.
Freak
Krampus is just PG-13? Eh......at least I can take my younger sister to see it then. I doubt it will have solid material for HHN.
Ridesandstuff
^One of the most popular mazes to date was based on a trilogy of PG-13 movies. Edited October 27, 2015 by Ridesandstuff
Grindhousehero13
I mean the only reason Trick 'r Treat was R was because of nudity... the gore was not over the top pretty much all the kills happen off screen. I mean is there really a reason for anybody in that movie to be naked on screen? Insidious is one of our biggest houses and is rated PG-13. Plus rating does not equal maze material. Also looks like The Conjuring is getting sued...again... http://time.com/4089602/the-conjuring-house-suing-warner-brothers/ Edit: Seriously WTF Universal not that I'm too keen on dance crews but just looked up Academy of Villains are. At least they do some Horror inspired routines and not always to shitty club music... hopefully they get put into Water World Theater if they decide to do anything like this again (probably since people are eating Jabawokkies up). Way better than Jabawokkies.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IstdWMYWV3k Edited October 28, 2015 by Grindhousehero13
Freak
^I fully realize Insidious is a PG-13 franchise. The only reason it works is because there are lots of frightening creatures and cool environments to work with. With Krampus, the whole movie is, judging by the trailer, going to be entirely in the house. With that, you may have Krampus, but no kills to show that would be HHN-worthy. I think Murdy should just stick with an original Dark Christmas house. I would've preferred that over Krampus anyway.
Grindhousehero13
Ummmm whut?? The movie takes place in the neighborhood the whole block is cut off the world that's in the trailer. You got Krampus and demonic toys. I have no idea how PG-13 equals no kills again the only deciding factor that tipped Dougherty 's other movie Trick r Treat into R territory was the several cases of nudity. The trailer is making you hate everyone in the kid's family that's not his parents which if anything from film studies have taught me is the writers wants them to die and wants the audience to be happy they're dead. Comic Con had interviews with the cast that pretty confirmed being mauled by a teddy bear I can already see a The Thing infected hand/AVP face hugger gag. Look the movie has not even come out who knows maybe there is nothing that translates well but nothing SO FAR have proven so. To think maze material is based off of ratings is just silly. Look Krampus is a horror movie coming out at Christmas time and going up with a ton of CGI kids movies and Star Wars they are gonna try anything they can to fill seats you know there is gonna be a unrated directors cut BluRay out by the time next HHN. But I digress let's wait until the movie comes out to judge it

Plus an original Dark Christmas maze would allow for much more jaw-dropping and spectacular Christmas-y/Winter-y sets/environments rather than having to stick with just suburban houses seen in the movie

foodstampsFTW
I don't know how this turned into a mpaa ratings equals more maze content. I was just upset that it was PG-13 because I thought it would be a lot better rated R(as most movies are). I still think they should do an original dark christmas maze featuring the design of Krampus from the movies
XD005
Somewhat off subject but just for fun, I recreated the audio for This is The End.I've got to say that maze sounds so much more epic when you just listen to the audio. lolIt isn't 100% accurate. But still kinda cool I think.
