Halloween Horror Nights 25 Wishful Thinking

Well, Havoc's story wasn't riveting either, but lo and behold... We got a hallway out of it.

Okay, as much as that made me giggle. With the HAVOC storyline, there is somewhere to go with it. College kids opening a portal to hell in a dorm room on the other hand, not so much. The only viable option is to have the demons spill out of the portal. The In-Between was a one hit wonder.

HAVOC could have been another Psychoscareapy in terms of diversity. But that was derailed (i'm sorry but the puns are real) by making the house more of an action sequence than a horror inspired event.

Honestly, I think we should just declare that Afterlife was In-Between 2, I mean it even had some of the same demons.

Yeah, I think if HAVOC continues, it's heading to the streets next, problem is, I can't see anything different than what I saw in The Purge last year.

Sorry guys catching up! I didn't get to go last year and am still bummed!! I read in earlier posts the possibility of a misfits house!?!? I am all for this if the rumors pan to be true I'd love to see, dig up her bones, London dungeon, teenagers from Mars, astrozombies all mashed kinda like the cooper house did. I'm not a fan of havoc but it seems to be a storyline that not much needs to be done to in order to keep making new houses, I feel as if there's always a throwaway house, that's havoc for me...

That was a rumor for HHN in Hollywood, not Orlando. It could be possible but it's mostly for Hollywood at this time.

After skimming through Dr. Jimmy's tumblr again I really think (using my imagination) that there are clues pointing to a return of a Scary Tales type house or scare zone.

It began with the book How the Heather Looks. Apparently the book is about a family who traveled to Britain to find the world they knew from reading children's books. Winnie the Pooh country, Edinburgh, Jemima Puddle-Ducks Farm, Toad Hall from The Wind of the Willows, Pook's Hill, and Camelot were a bunch of their destinations.

At another point, I came across a picture of what looked like some type of goose and it's young. Since I already had children's books on the brain, all I could think of was mother goose. I thought I might be on to something, so I did research to see if mother goose was used in Scary Tales or the Fractured Tales scare zone and sure enough there was such a character in the scare zone. My next step was to read up on what scary tales was more or less about. I learned that there were characters called the Scribes who were torturers that used people to rewrite fairy tales into stuff of nightmares. This led me right back to the cenobites, who are somewhat similar to the evil fairy tale characters who have been more or less summoned using this form of magic. There were also pictures of the Queen of England posted. Maybe this represented the queen who was in command of the scribes in Scary Tales originally.

My final point would be that after reading about the Scribes and what they're more or less summoning it brought me back to the Boogeyman house we were supposed to get last year. I'm pretty sure there were clues that mentioned someone summoning something that was bad and got out of control. Maybe they decided to save a Scary Tales house for the 25th anniversary instead.

???

That was only a narrative in Scary Tales 3.

Scary Tales 1 (a.k.a Terror Land) was abut a dark ride based on fairy tales that is long abandoned due to some unexplained deaths... lightning brought to life... fill in the cliche. Basically a dilapidated ride where the attractions are after you.

SCT2 didn't really have a narrative. It lost it when Cindy was nixed. If I'm not mistaken (and I could be it's been a while) a Cindy-like girl was still seen in the beginning.

Do you guys think that HHN has suffered the past few years due to the Potter stuff being planned/built/opening. Do you think HHN will get more attention now thats Potter is up and going?

This has probably been addressed ad nauseum but humor me....

Not Potter, solely. In general, the effort to make Universal a more sustainable park outside of October has caused a major shift in overall focus. Now that funds, and space, and manpower is being diverted, all that experience is elsewhere. Just look at Fake not building last year's houses because they were building attractions.

If anything is really killing HHN, it's its own success.

What's killing HHN is that the ratio of people to things to do is completely out of control. Too many guests per attractions. I'm no expert, by any means, but I think in time this problem will fix itself in one of two ways. One way is that the lines will become so long that people stop coming to the event, leaving the hardcore fans. Or it will expand to the point where Universal needs to put an end to it. Either way it will hurt them in the long run.

The only way to fix I can see this getting fixed is turning people away. Limit the tickets sold on each night.

You're forgetting the most likely option:

Increase ticket prices to the point where the number of people attending is just enough to still allow them to turn a profit.

They are ducks not geese. A mother duck with her ducklings in a bush. I believe it is a Muscovy duck. We have them here in FL.

It could be a Muscovy, but I am curious how you are so certain it's a duck. In the picture you can't see the front of it, can't really tell if it's neck is extended and can't see it's legs. There are geese that have colors similar to a Muscovy duck, like Spur winged geese. Either way, obviously I'm just guessing with what I'm looking at. Maybe he used a duck instead in order to make it less obvious??? Or... maybe it's another food porn picture.

I think you mentioned something about a couple big cats on tumblr too? Maybe it is also a reference to another Mother Goose Fairy Tale. The one about The Master Cat... Aka, Puss in Boots.

Do you think it would be worth it for HHN to bring back another version of Scary Tales? The general concept sounds enjoyable enough.

I've noticed quite a few pics that I believe relate to Krampus. This could easily be because I'm reaching in hopes that there will be a Krampus house though.

Anyone think there's any chance that the Rob Zombie movie 31 has a chance to be a house this year? I'm not sure if the movie is coming out the end of this year or next year, but from what I've read it has the makings of decent horror film. Making the fans pay to make the movie is quite a concept though.

See here:

I really really hope that Havoc doesn't make a return. I didn't like it originally, and the last one was probably my least favorite that year.
