deliciousoatmeal
I'll save all of that good stuff for the actual comparison review! Lol don't want to say too much and compare them until I see Hollywood besides on Employee preview night. It would be an unfair comparison. I'm not the biggest Alien or Predator fan, I enjoy movies from both franchises but I'm not a die hard. So as a casual fan of both aliens, I'd say Orlando's was scarier and there was more going on in each room. Also, when I wrote my review for Hollywood i said the puppets were really good but after seeing theirs, I'd say ours just look okay. I have to agree about the puppets. I see no reason why we can't have puppets that good. Maybe because we had AWiL, but next year... NO EXCUSES
DTH316
So are you saying... AVP should return next year? I agree with that. Just sayin. But maybe based on the first AVP. Or maybe just Alien. Without focusing on Predators, that'll boost their Alien puppet budget "Alien puppet budget." Hahaha... sounds funny.

Not necessarily AvP or Alien (although I would cry happy tears if it were Alien) but just puppets in general need an upgrade. Awil had the best Hollywood puppets to date, I think
HorrorNightsFan13
AWIL puppets were awesome af, I wish our alien puppets were that intricate. I would love just an alien maze. I hope Murdy sees this and considers it for next year

Kurseddragon
Am I the only one not impressed by the AWIL puppets? Am I the only one not impressed by the AWIL puppets? I wasn't, seeing as the one at the end had its head turned and still popped out straight, making it look real dumb. Also, I'm not creative to actually believe they're real in the slightest... Every puppet so far just makes me laugh with how unrealistic it feels and looks. The horde walls and werewolves are too static to make me believe them. But that's just me, I know other people are immersed.
DTH316
The ones in the Orlando videos looked way more scary. Maybe they were just better handled and/or placed in the maze better. I feel like our maze gets so repetitive with the placement of the wolves too. Turn a corner, go through a curtain, wolf in front of you raised up on a random platform. Like 3 or 4 times towards the end. I think the last one has a bit of variety because it's from the side on a random platform. And any of the other ones just look horrible, like the ones puppetted by the person its attacking and the full-length one that barely moves towards the end. And I can't forgive the lighting that makes them super visible before any of them ever attack (maybe this has been fixed on second weekend) which makes it impossible to be scared by em.

The lighting WAS fixed, and the puppets, other than one of them, moved more fluidly on the second weekend.
Mellie_Monster
Am I the only one not impressed by the AWIL puppets? Am I the only one not impressed by the AWIL puppets? Negative, I'm extremely unimpressed by them and that has nothing to do with having walked through AWiL 10+ times already, they just don't seem to get better, I had hoped per Murdys tweets about tweaking and adding two more wolves in, would boost my feeling about it, but no dice. They feel like big stuffed wolf dogs from build a bear.
deliciousoatmeal
They were better than puppets we've had in the past. I think our hopes were high because of Orlando, but they're great for hollywood.

deliciousoatmeal
Anyways, nobody's answered my question. What part of Hollywood's AvP maze has the cloaked predator?
HorrorNightsFan13
Oatmeal, I don't think we got a cloaked predator scene unless I missed it. They were talking about Orlando's AVP for the predator cloak scene.

Freak
John mentioned that there was a nod to it in a tweet I think he was talking about the scene where the police car. It's the scene where the predator's laser for a lighting effect.
Mellie_Monster
Omggggg AHS! I fear HHN would go the wrong direction with it, but dag nabbit that would be one hell of a maze, or even a scare zone! As for the cloaked predator, I've been through AVP a number of times and I'm either not looking hard enough or I'm just not timing right but I haven't seen it. I'll look harder this weekend. DTH316
Glad to hear the lighting has been fixed in AWIL. I'm really hoping my next visit will be a much better run through. I really wanna like the maze, but lighting, puppets, and transitions kill it for me. As Freak said (and I could've sworn I said it on here somewhere), but the cloaked Predator effect is the police car scene with the laser. Basically, the Predator is supposed to be high up above aiming at the car. I'm ASSUMiNG that's what Murdy meant since you don't actually see a Predator in that scene. AHS is long overdue since season 2. Next year is a MUST for Freakshow, especially considering Murdy wants to do a Freakz maze. I mean, C'MON, this is perfect timing. TWD just can't possibly come back. Give it a rest for 2 years. I'm willing to bet the show will end around season 6 - 8 anyway. Just do an ultimate "best of" maze when it's about to go off the air.

I just hold onto the whole "we never use a maze more than three years in a row" theory that Murdy has followed since the event came back in terms if never seeing TWD again. It's so beyond overdone, and it's time to move the walkers out and bring the freaks in!
Kurseddragon
I feel like if they bring TWD back, they're gonna make it harder for casting... ESPECIALLY Terror Tram. I know this is really terrible to say, but I could see a reason for me quitting would be "I don't wanna be a walker... on Terror Tram..." Though I doubt that'd be my only excuse. I'd probably use school as an excuse too. But seriously, for actors, to play the same role. For four years, even if they've never played it themselves, just seeing it and having to be in that position just gives so much lack of motivation to try. Or maybe that's me 'cause I take everything for granted.
