HHN Hollywood 2014 Speculation

Recommended Posts

Well, there's two notable monsters they haven't used yet.

Cookie Monster and the deformed guy from "Goonies"? Sorry, Ferox.

I hear what you are saying, though. I would have a hard time thinking Universal/Comcast would turn down the opportunity to have two baddies at both events. It is one company; funding could come from other sources under the same umbrella.

Well that and all of those kaiju...I guess they could just put guests through a growth ray and then have them face off against Gigan and Godzilla.

I think another reason they would want to do it is how successful Insidious was. Murdy was notoriously hesitant to do a full on paranormal maze, but it went over extremely well. Since they've never done a sci fi action horror maze with two of the most iconic and terrifying monsters in movie history, there's certainly a real appeal there. Also again, there's a freak out property that had a "fans are going to loooove this" multi tweet build up that Orlando would have to logically share with us, and it isn't Halloween.

If we're going to spend a bunch of time complaining about how HHN needs to change it up, why all the hesitation and kickback when there's a property that changes it up?

As for awareness, I legitimately did not know that there was a FDTD TV show until spec started and I am a big fan of the movie.

same here did I had no clue and in addition the show FDTD comes out on a network that I believe is not so known or that not a lot of people have.

Do you guys think Murdy does that on purpose? I'm sure he knew some more knowledgable horror fans would be able to figure out that last years facade was Insidious before it was announced. Since AWIL isn't as highly requested compared to the popular slasher icons the GP normally ask for, you think he doesn't mind the Slaughtered Lamb facade going up as a gesture towards more die hard HHN fans?

Our wolves were puppets.

I probably should have been more clear with my original question, but yes I know they were. (You can even see one of the Puppeteers in Ricky Brigante's video) I was just wondering if they would be as extensive as the ones Florida used (being able to control eyes, mouth movement etc.) since Hollywood has never done something at that caliber before.

I imagine Orlando would probably just send their wolves over here

So apparently FDTD may not be coming to Orlando anymore.

It's possible. I'm just wondering since it would interesting to see them in a Tent setting.

Here's how I picture it. I could be wrong, but this is how I picture it.

Murdy: Hey there's this movie I really like can I do it?

Execs: No, there's not enough awareness you know that we are not wasting money on a low awareness maze.

Murdy: Well Aiello just sent over these super expensive werewolves so it would cost as much as a repeat

Execs: Ok cool.

In other fun news Leprechaun: Orgins is coming out this year DTV on September 30th. With WWE's Hornswaggle playing The Leprechaun.

Anyways onto the current spec.

Beauty is only skin deep- AVP. Which I really hope isn't true. Don't get me wrong I'm a huge fan and think it would be badass, but that's the problem. Isn't the point of the event to be scary. If predator jumps out at me all I'm gonna think is "that's awesome" not "HOLY SH!T, IM GONNA DIE". I know I'm gonna get some hate for this, but that's my opinion.

I agree whole heartily, look it would be cool to see AVP as a maze but in the end would it be scary? AVP is more Sci-fi as opposed to if we were getting Alien which is a horror movie and it would make Murdy a hypocrite if he makes this a maze after he kinda laughed at us for suggesting Jurassic Park because it was not a horror movie despite Orlando pulling off both a SZ and house. I can buy Orlando getting it since they have a history of using non-horror but horrish properties such as Jurassic Park, Doomsday, and Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire's assistant. I just personally don't think it's AVP.

On This subject As much as I would want FDTD....I don't think we are seeing it ever.

welcome to the forums!

"Took a look at some progress on the SFX for the maze I refer to as "The Freak Out Maze" (because you're going to FREAK when you find out)..."

"...OMG!!!! This is absoultely the craziest thing we've ever attempted for HHN! And its going to blow your mind when you see it!!!"

I was there today. As a matter of fact, I met up with Jon from InsideUniversal and sat next to him while he was taking that photo! It's pretty clear that it's the slaughtered lamb. Also, they only had the carpet laid out in the Mummy and SS 747 was all sealed up.

Before we jump to the conclusion that the JP overflow facade is in fact the Slaughtered Lamb (which seems the most likely at this point), can anyone find any other facade that it may be?

And yes, I'm new here

Welcome to the forums! The only likely candidate for that would be the Myer's house. We already know Halloween isn't coming back, so that has to be what it is. They'll probably announce it come July seeing that they have progressed quickly with construction.

That's what he said about the Evil Dead puppets. The blew my mind alright....at how awful they were. I'm going to keep my expectations low on this one.
