HHN Hollywood 2014 Speculation

Recommended Posts

Somehow I doubt HHN will be celebrating a big "10th annual" or anything in that regard. The Hollywood side's history is too shoddy for any of that.

Plus it's unlike Knotts and Orlando in that their history isn't that big of a deal. All they would have to celebrate from an original stand point is that they did a 3 cruddy musician based mazes, stuffed one of their original ideas in the HOH one year, and La Llorona/El Cucuy.

I would think if Orlando shares anything with Hollywood it would be Dracula. It's a Universal movie coming out in October.

I wouldn't think it would be a "freak out" though in any way... so it is indeed confusing why we would not share the awesome "Freak out" When AVP is pretty much an awesome "Freak out" for us.

I wouldn't freak out over anything in the last 3 years. It would be usual business for a recent popular property to come to HHN.

Freaking out would be like "my dreams are coming true, I've been waiting for this maze for forever" or "the perfect maze fodder movie is becoming a maze."

My personal freak out list looks like this:

Scream

Trick R Treat

Alien

The Ring

Original Evil Dead series

Arkham Asylum (I love Batman villains, okay?!)

Resident Evil (based on the games series, parts 1, 2, 3, Code: Veronica, maybe 4, but anything after that, meh)

The Descent (most people prob wouldn't care, but easily one of the scariest movies ever)

The Exorcist (out of sheer curiosity how it could be done)

Poltergeist

Thirteen Ghosts (scare actor design heaven)

Cabin in the Woods (very recent, so maybe not as much as the others)

And for clarification, I'm imagining freak out means "OH MY GOD, IT'S HAPPENING, I'M SO EXCITED *arms go flailing like Kermit the Frog*!" As oppose to, "this is the scariest maze ever!"

13 ghost!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! too bad it's too old to be considered relevant and too obscure to be a cult classic.

Im just saying what If they got AVP and we didn't , they got Resident Evil which for many of us was a freak out property and we didn't.

I'm not saying they can't have something we don't. Halloween for example is something they have that we don't. I am saying that if Hollywood has à freak out property they would be on that property as well instead of doing an original clown maze. Aiello wouldn't say no to TRT/Exorcist...or AVP.

I'm gonna just ignore this "freak out" nonsense. Probably just a random term he felt like using. Anybody remember the 2010 debacle of us reading into things too much? I remember vividly y'all counting how many times people were stabbed in movies because one of Murdy's hints was something like "cut cut slash slash gurgle gurgle" and us going "OH MY GAH, ITS PSYCHO!" or him saying "the movie is really bloody" with the result being "it HAS to be the Wolfman."

I ain't fallin for this shit no mo!

OMG I remember that non sense....but my point exactly

I get that it would be weird for Aiello to pass up on something truly amazing that can be at both parks but what I don't get is why exactly does our Freak out maze has to prove that it's AVP besides we would freak out about it?

It doesn't necissarily prove it but so far it's our best bet. If were getting a "freak out property", then Orlando is probably getting it as well. Out of the two freak out properties they are rumored to have this year (AVP and Halloween) AVP is more likely since murdy said the other mazes have never been featured at the event. He's made many comments about a stand alone Alien(s) house not being possible, but I have yet to see him say anything about AVP whose sets would be a lot easier to do than Alien. AVP would still allow fans to see xenomorphs at the event in some way, without it being to costly. All other "freak out properties" we've come up with are either not likely to happen for a long time, or would be better fit for next years event. It's also fits the "beauty is only skin deep" clues rather well (I think Mr. HHN brought this up first.) Buisness of Beauty Products/Ding Dong=Avon=Abbriviation of Avon is AVP. I'm fairly confident AVP is our freak out maze.

I would bet serious money that Murdy has been viewing our recent posts with an evil laugh. We don't even trust ourselves to the point to where we are debating what a freak-out maze is! It's simply going to be a property that many fans have been wanting for years. That would either the Exorcist, Alien VS Predator, or Halloween. Halloween is not happening over here (As we know) and I doubt it's AVP. Remember, the treatment is only 55 pages. I doubt that would be enough for AVP. A property like that needs a sound stage. That tells me that this will also be the "appealing IP" to go in Persian.

You know, Freddy VS Jason would for SURE qualify as a "freak out" maze. Just saying.

Because circumstances would almost certainly eliminate every IP that isn't at Orlando. IPs at Orlando being TWD, Halloween, AVP, Dracula Untold, and (possibly) From Dusk Till Dawn.

Considering DTH said he thinks it is "too good to be true" and that it represents two massive IPs in one maze, it counts as a freak out.

Welcome to the 100th page of spec, folks. I have nothing much to add, I just want to be a part of this historic moment this year. :) So, Freak's "Freak Out" definition seems to be the most likely. With that, I'm pretty sure it's AVP. Cause what would better fit a soundstage, and which seems most likely considering we know Orlando is probably getting it? Also, most of us would freak the f@#k out if we got that maze. When Aiello was talking about getting the property the same day Murdy was, Aiello said he feels the same way about this as he did AWIL. So, as far as puppets go and how elaborate the maze has to be, I really think AVP fits.

you did bring up a good point about the treatment being 55 pages long. For that type of maze IP , and since there is two Alien and Predator I would have expected it to be much longer.

I fear so badly... that the xenomorphs will resemble the crud I saw in the Evil Dead maze. All will just be ruined.

Speaking of animatronics and puppeteering, if we did get AWIL, would it be likely we have TWO mazes heavy on non-human scares?

My doubt is growing bigger and bigger.

Are you basing this on spec or sources?

Just basing it on the process of elimination.

I know little about what you guys are getting except that you aren't getting Aliens or Halloween (and that is only based on Murdy's tweets and other telling me that). AVP on the other hand...

However, if you exclude AVP, that leaves The FDTD series (which there is confusion if it is even happening) and Dracula Untold. Of those two, Dracula is their own property that (at least I would think) they would want to promote the crap out of.

Neither of those seem to be something to get freaked out over though so either we aren't sharing the freak out or AVP is the only plausible answer. It isn't strictly an aliens house (and his comment on it would represent a very Carnie answer) and it is big enough to be consider something to freak out over as they have wanted the Alien for a long time,

Are you saying you think we're only sharing two properties?

Here's the Dracula Untold trailer.

*for scurry stuff go to 1:08

Wrong link.

Edit: Universal keeps removing the YouTube versions, but you can still see it at many movie sites.

Here it is at Indie Wire & Bloody Disgusting. Says it's an "international" trailer, so probably a leak.
