HHN Hollywood 2014 Speculation

Recommended Posts

There was a rumor goin round that it wouldn't be used. A rumor that had no validity to it. Other than, that's the only location that hasn't been mentioned by Murdy yet (previously he mentioned the appealing IP in Parisian square, we saw construction in JP, TWD was confirmed for Metro, the SS747 maze was confirmed to be the freak out maze). But now, finally, Mummy has been mentioned. Rumors get started in such a weird way these days :-/

Personally, I like the venue. Holds many great memories for me for when HHN was in its prime with TCM and Saw. I think it was better suited when it started on the other side of the building though, with the U turn layout.

However, I really miss the WWW venue. Every maze there was ALWAYS great. Halloween, F13 all 3 times, The Thing, TWD. Parisian square isn't that great of a replacement if Cucuy is any indication :(

Interesting tidbit, JP venue will be the longest running venue without having a repeated maze/theme rebuilt there in consecutive years. 4 years going, since Insidious isn't returning.

I feel the same way DTH, watch a property come out of the blue that hasn't even been mentioned.

Wait, now actually that I think about it From Dusk till Dawn fits Soap Commercial. A soap brand has the name of the maze in it which is Dawn and George Clooney acted in TV commercials making the cameo hint a red hearing.

Back from my trip so I can post again.

Wow. So much to catch up on. If Dracula: Untold is coming to HoH, I don't think the chances are high for FDTD. Again, it was supposedly coming to Orlando before it got scrapped, so...huh. If it is coming, it will for sure be in the sound stage. There's no way they would have the night club as a facade during the day...NO way.

If we're getting AWiL, I don't think chances are high for AVP. Hollywood doesnt have as big of a budget as Orlando. If anything, Murdy will probably reuse the puppets to Xenomorph to save on the budget. The execs may want to see how AWiL does before investing mucho denero on a big another big creature maze. I think Murdy might be saving it for the big property for the tenth anniversary.

Now that the Mummy venue returning, I feel like the possibilities are strong for Cabin in the Woods. It would be perfect for that venue as the facade would be the woods, and the cabin can be reused from Evil Dead. I would be surprised if it didn't come up. I don't see why they would discontinue the trend of having a "woodsy" facade for Mummy.

I'm disappointed that Terror Tram is not going away next year. Wanna place bets it will be Walking Dead again?

Let me catch you up to speed, the current rumor in Orlando is FDTD is replacing the original soundstage house. So it might not be scrapped after all.

Why would we need to place bets? When TWD was announced on returning it was openly announced that the Terror Tram was going to be Walking Dead themed again. You even replied "Here's my only thought about the Terror Tram: It's going to suck anyway so...." and posted a picture stating "Who cares?!?" in the Terror Tram thread in response to the announcement.

Just no to FDTD being Soap Commercial. It possibly could be something else.

But i mean, idk! With all the high profile properties out there, how does FDTD slip through the cracks? I understand HOTC for the Rob Zombie connection, but that really was the last time we had a cult classic maze at HHN. Robert Rodriguez doesn't have that much pull, and i doubt Tarantino would slap his name on a project that isn't 100% his. Eli Roth's Hostel wasn't even extremely popular and that was mostly riding on the tails of it being a brand named franchise.

I'll call it now and say FDTD isn't happening. I kinda also wanna say AVP isn't happening, because that sounds just too good to be true. And apart of me also wants to say there won't be The Exorcist either. Back to the drawing board.
