HHN Hollywood 2014 Speculation

Recommended Posts

It is à lesser known movie BUT it does have two major stars attached to it. I hope this spec is true!

It is lesser known but yea, who dosen't know who Quentin Tarantino is? Like House of 1000 Corpses which prevailed since Rob Zombie's name was attached to it, and Rides is true they can promote the TV Show. Oh how I hope this really does happen!

Yeah, he's one of the biggest names in not-mainstream cinema if that makes sense. Combined with Rodrigez having his name attached to the project and a very notable location and a variety of notable characters (SEX MACHINE!) it has a fair chance.

I'm not AVP level convinced, but I do have some hope.

From Dusk till Dawn would actually be a great fit in the Parisian Courtyard and would be the maze that attracts the Latino community this year. This actually is really likely to happen

I have no clue what From Dusk Til Dawn is. Would u mind telling me what's it about or what monsters/scary things there are?

I actually have a question too. Sorry if it doesn't really have a lot to do with spec, but I was wondering... what would you consider a box office flop? Does it have to lose money, or could it still be a flop if it only makes a little cash? For instance, let's say a film costs 45 million to make, and it sells 47 million worth of tickets. Is that a flop too?

Well from Dusk till Dawn is a film by Robert Rodriguez starting George Clooney and Quentin Tarantino which is about two outlaws escaping the law and turn out in bigger troubles with vampire deadite like creatures. It also made two bad sequels and a new tv show. Go on Wikipedia for more details

As much as I love that movie, is it really maze material? Plenty of great characters and such, but all the action happens in one big room. No hallways or anything. As oppose to The Exorcist which has somewhat known sequels to work from, FDTD has 2 DTV sequels to a movie not many people know about in general and a TV show that's probably too new to use locales from.

but all the action happens in one big room.

Not really, check it out again. A lot of it happens in the same room, but far from all. At least enough to fill a maze.

It's up in the air, according to the sources who are getting conflicting info. And it's not known why it was scrapped, as the replacement maze is Legendary Truth based which could be to appeal to longer time fans.

I wouldn't say it's a sure thing by any stretch, but with mystery IP slots to be filled I would consider it reasonable spec. Too soon to call though.

I'm actually really rooting for CITW this year. There is really no reason why we shouldn't get it.

Was Deliver Us From Evil taken off the table according to early screeners?

Murdy did say one property will be released this year and we alllll thought it was The Purge. I suppose it could be Dracula Untold still. And what about chances of it being As Above, So Below? Looks like HHN candy to me.

Random thought

To bad none the vampires use weapons in FDTD because it would fit almost perfectly as a NY scarezone. Go Go's would obviously be the ones from the titty twister, The Barker could be either Chet Pussy or Santánico Pandemónium (Hell, or Both!), the fire tower would be very fitting. The only problem would be the chainsaws (that area can't survive without them tbh) and the setting. I guess maybe the coven decided to invade a near by city?

............ bahahahahahahaha.

Here's my spec as of now, which I think might be fairly accurate :

HOH - Dracula Untold

Parisian - The Exorcist

Mummy - Cabin in the Woods

JP - American Werewolf in London

Metro - Walking Dead

SS 747 - Alien vs. Predator

SS - Ozzy Osbourne Presents Some Bull Shit

And it would look silly for the first half of the event when the event begins before nightfall.

Is be able to suspend my disbelief enough I guess. Orlando has had vampire scarezones, te most recent one being the horde from 2012, an part of their event takes place while it's light out as well. I know t would never happen as the whole chainsaw thing would be strange I just think it would e kind of interesting.

2 things:

Is the series even popular enough?

And what happened to Murdy's rule about 1 TV series per year?

The series was renewed for another season. Which means Robert Rodriquez renewed his own show (?). The movie would make more sense, but it would not surprise me if John Murdy had an opportunity to connect with the director and use it as a means to promote the show. I could see the El Rey network ad-bombing HHN on their telecasts as part of the agreement to use the property. Edited by AsylumSB
