Grindhousehero13
Looks like HHN is going to be a commercial ad campaign for the walking dead. That's 3 years in a grow and I'm sure it'll be here for 2015 and 2016. I'm tired of it! I want a new theme or property to be marketed even though it wont. I want to see new cups and map their both going to have walkers on them. I want variety. But we'll see where this goes. Let's all just take a breath and let it go! TWD's legal issues is a joke right night AMC not even sweating it. He said maze properties you carny your way around that for the Purge but it's a stretch with Halloween because he said properties not themes. Ridesandstuff
I dunno, I don't think Halloween 2 countsas its own property. The whole halloween series is part of one franchise. Wouldn't the franchise be the "property" and not each individual film?

ferox
Yeah, I'm going to nix my previous Halloween spec. I would love to be wrong, but I don't think we'll see it this year. Unless he decides to do a Halloween scarezone...and that's pretty unlikely also.
HigbeeHaunt
The only carny thing I could see around the Halloween thing would be if it was Rob Zombies Halloween movies.
Freak
The only carny thing I could see around the Halloween thing would be if it was Rob Zombies Halloween movies. That seems unlikely as 1) that version seems to be universally hated by horror fans. 2) He has his own event that's now in Arizona. 3) There were rumors of a fallout between him and Murdy back in 2012. DTH316
Halloween is Halloween. If that's the case, we could just put all the F13s, NOESs and TCMs back on the table since they each have iterations that've been untouched thus far. But we won't! So like Ghostbusters, and so things could move forward, I hereby propose we take the following out of spec: Halloween (featured before), Resident Evil (not while TWD is around), American Horror Story (not while TWD is around), Insidious (featured before) Thank you for your cooperation :-P Edited June 11, 2014 by DTH316

Halloween II is technically a property not featured before. I do agree with the latter three though.

ThNdIzNiR
Does anyone think the Wrong Turn series has any chance at all of being brought in? I think part 6 is going to be released this fall. As awful as some of the movies were, I bet it could be a fairly decent house. I'm still trying to tie Teen Spirit since it wasn't TWD.

DTH316
Nope. It could be a good maze though. They're better off just doing that theme in original form.
Batwithtusks
With all we've established, what else could be the FREAK OUT maze other than The Exorcist? Other than The Shining or a Stephen King property which won't happen because as far as we know Murdy won't ever get the rights, I'm having trouble trying to think of properties it could be. Orlando HHN twitter was freaking out about getting the call allowing them to do the property as well, so it's got to be something pretty exclusive. Has Murdy directly shot down any chance of Stephen King's work coming this year? Any ideas otherwise?
DTH316
Hm... I suppose Stephen King could be on the table this year (I haven't heard anything dismissing that). But in all honestly, how good could a Shining maze be? :-/
ThNdIzNiR
Unless Hollywood's freakout is different from Orlando's, I'm guessing it will be AVP. Over in Orlando, there is a lot of talk about Aliens being one of the houses this year and it almost certainly has to be the freakout maze if it does happen. I don't know just how much larger the Orlando budget is, but I believe it would cost a ton of money to do an Aliens house. Think of how much work would be involved creating the walls of the areas where the Aliens inhabit. However, an AVP house would cost singnificantly less because the whole movie took place inside an ancient pyramid. The walls are just plain old stone. If I recall, I remember some of you saying it couldn't be AVP because Murdy said Aliens or Predator would cost too much... you then assumed that if an Alien or Predator was too much, how could you have both and eliminated AVP. The bottom line is an AVP maze could cost much less to make than Aliens. Obviously the movie itself wasn't as good as Aliens, but I think it could be a totally awesome maze. I'd freak out. AVP is also a total match for the Beauty is Only Skin Deep clues. Any other possible big name candidates that match all of this year's criteria? Nothing even remotely zombie No Michael, Jason, or Freddy No Saw, Leatherface, or Chucky No Evil Dead or Insidious Most likely nothing based off Stephen King novels Maybe it is just me, but I wouldn't freak out over the Exorcist. When I went to see it at the theatre (re-release), I actually fell asleep. It was the only movie I ever fell asleep to in the theatre in all my life. Legacy
So.. . thanks to Mystique dilligently looking at the permits, We have found a bit of shuffling has gone on in the sound Stages. 20a/b is now 24 a/b BUT they are giving code names in the permits (They haven't done that since '09) So here's some fun let me just give you all the code names and locations (who knows how long it will take for them to put out all the permits) Crows = Parade Charlie = Tent1 Home = Tent 2 Smile = Disaster! Evac/Synergy = 24 a/b TWD = 25 Ritual = 22A (if thast hasn't changed as well) You are probably asking :"Oh! But what happened to Altar?" Altar looks like a no go was supposed to replace Crows. So there you are 4 IPs 4 originals. Wrong thread... lol

It was the only movie I ever fell asleep to in the theatre in all my life. Now I just find myself wanting to throw stones at you lol So your saying that the FREAK OUT maze can't be The Exorcist because you find it boring even though it has a huge fan following and has been called the GREATEST Horror Film of all time but a mashup film which isn't good by any standards would be a Freak Out propriety? Just think about it...
ThNdIzNiR
Exorcist is one of the biggest films in horror. There is no question about it. How well would it translate into a house though? You'd rather watch a young girl bounce around on a bed and throw up pea soup than be immersed in a battle between 2 of the best alien creatures in the history of film? Mr.HHN
Well John Murdy himself said he knows how to do it.
ThNdIzNiR
Then if he knows how to do it, it is either by changing the original story or by adding on the not very impressive Exorcist films that followed the original. Either way, I find it hard to imagine that the house would do the film any justice.
Mr.HHN
Still it's a house based on the Greatest horror film of all time! Seriously if you think about it you know the subject matter is disturbing and you have all those myths of what happened on set of the film, it would be pretty darn terrifying bringing it to life and might even be dangerous! But anyway if the John who loves this film has an idea I bet he could do justice to it.

But in all honestly, how good could a Shining maze be? :-/ At Monsterpalooza he said that he would never do The Shining since it would require casting X amount of Jack lookalikes and that King is still refusing to do anything. When I met him he said he liked my wife's Creepshow shirt, I said it's too bad that Creepshow doesn't have the awareness. He said yeah, and also King is staunchly against mazes.
