HHN Hollywood 2014 Speculation

He said no new *mazes.*

Oh look, something happened to the Resident Evil spec.

Are you going to feel silly when they announce a Resident Evil house?

There is still 4-5 mazes left to be released and the original. I'd imagine if there are 7 this year, the extra 1 would be another ip.

Which codename can be scratched off the list now? I had Teen Spirit tied to TWD. Obviously it isn't the original, and it can't be Empire. I highly doubt it could be Beauty is Only Skin Deep either, unless when he said "freak out" he actually meant it in a negative way.

Oh yes, I'll certainly feel silly when Resident Evil comes along. My face will be covered in all sorts of pie. I can't wait until they announce a non-time sensitive IP maze that has the same basic theme as the big star IP that is coming back for a third year. I can just imagine the behind the scenes pitch. "I know, to offset those who are upset about having too many zombies, we'll just bring in more lesser known zombies."

What happened to " the highest rated maze becomes the repeat" that's been happening year after year, but not with walking dead it wasn't the highest rated in 2013. Insidious should be back :(

So you'd rather have insidious return, which would most likely be the exact same maze, come back, than TWD which would be new for the most part

Hell yea! I wouldn't mind a #1 rated maze returning

how is TWD once in a lifetime, it's been done twice and going for a 3rd time haha xD

The popularity of the IP is once in a lifetime. I'm not sure if you don't get that or just needed to make a joke that you felt the need to laugh at and emoticon, to signify just how funny your joke was.

ANYWAY back to spec.

Teaser image included "SURVIVE THE NIGHT." Purge announcement next?

Resident Evil 6 was originally supposed to be released this coming September, but got pushed back to some time next year. So in theory, it could have been a time sensitive issue originally. To call the most successful game to movie franchise which profited roughly 2/3 a billion dollars a "lesser known zombie" film is pretty ridiculous. As a game series, I believe 24 different titles have been released and they have sold roughly 50 million units. If the games were 50-60 dollars each when released, that would be 2.5 to 3 billion dollars worth of sales (not sure of profits). Then there is merchandise besides... You may not like the idea that there are 2 ip's that have zombies in them, but you can't say that the Resident Evil franchise doesn't have a following. I could be wrong, but I think Universal is doing this to make money right?

Lesser known than Walking Dead. It is pretty well known overall obviously, but it's not as well known as Walking Dead. Not even close.

I have no issue with Resident Evil coming, it's Murdy that takes issue with two samey mazes. If you want to complain, talk to him.

I mean I wanted Cabin in the Woods last year, but Murdy said no to that for the same reason.

He actually refused Cabin in the Woods because it had zombies in it? That is crazy.

Does that mean that if you ever get Trick 'R Treat, you can't have any other wolves, witches, or zombies?

No, because of Evil Dead..

Look, just talk to Murdy. He is a nice guy. And TRT did not have any witches.

Ummm... TRT had a girl named Rhonda who was dressed as a witch. Using a little imagination, you'd realize she was one. She knew about Halloween and it's traditions and was indirectly responsible for the death of the other kids where the bus fell. When she walked by Sam while the kids were being killed below, I felt they understood one another.

No matter how you look at it though, there was a character at least dressed like a witch.

Huge announcements all in one blow:

Walking Dead maze

Walking Dead scare zone

Walking Dead Terror Tram

The Purge will be back (maze or scare zone, or both)

More than 6 mazes.

They've all been pretty much made official as well. I think the Tagline for Walking Dead will be Go to Terminus.

too much walking dead, they could have easily had a different scarezone and terror tram could have easily been the Purge.

They Are already advertising Season 5 lol

The teaser site says "can you survive the night?" Which is literally the tagline for The Purge material. It might as well have been announced, we just don't know in what capacity yet. It also doesn't officially say there will be more than 6 mazes, but it might as well have.

Some of the fans are upset, but I'm sure the general public will be pleased.

And where did they release news about the Purge?

On the website . The last sentence says "Can you survive the night? " so that's clearly The Purge.
