HHN Hollywood 2014 Speculation

Recommended Posts

This is the same guy who said that Alice Cooper was a rumor, because it was a rumor before it was confirmed. There's a lot of spec on the Orlando side of things leading to Myers and this is a year that could use a classic powerhouse IP like Halloween. And that massive Blu Ray set (which means everyone with the rights got together) comes out on September 23rd. Another thing to consider is that with the recent explosion of popularity, a lot of the current HHN fans never saw Michael Myers.

Legacy has pretty much confirmed Halloween for Orlando. With no music maze and The Purge being the only notable horror(ish) movie out, I would expect him to come home.

Since Halloween is a huge possibility in Hollywood, I would love to see a new maze based off of 2 and maybe 3. It only makes sense to have the maze based off of the sequel since the maze only went through the first. It would be cool to have the maze start off in the hopsital in the middle of Persian Square. I think the facade would fit perfectly with the buildings surrounding everything. Oh, wouldn't it also be cool to have the two cars crashed into each other and a dummy of the burnt kid in between them, covered in fog? That would make a nice touch in front of the facade. Maybe they could add the smell of burnt flesh by the wreckage. :mmyers:

The real question is how Halloween fits with one of the codenames. I want to say it's "Beauty is Only Skin Deep" as that happens to be the "freak-out" maze. It also happens to have only 55 pages of treatment, which would fit in a small venue like Persian Square.

It would be cool to have a Scream maze someday. If Murdy can make a good maze off of the first Halloween movie, he most certainly an make a full-fledged maze out of Scream. I don't think it will happen under him, unfortunately.

I wouldn't care much for a maze based off Halloween 2. Its just nowhere near as iconic. 85% of the maze would have to be made up of original deaths anyway, which I wouldn't mind, but I think it'd be way better and fun to just use the whole series.

This is actually Gonna be hard they Look really really cool! I'm gonna decide on either corps or mask a raid. I really like the idea of corps and would work well with cool props and sound effects although I'm really digging the gory aspect of mask a raid!

I'm torn between Corps and Mask-A-Raid. Both are awesome original concept scarezones that Horror Nights has needed for a long time. Oh, and they both have good names that don't have a freakin' "Z"!

Someone I know who was at the park today just gave me a construction update. Sorry no pictures. Just like I predicted, construction for "Soap Commercial" has begun in the Jurassic Park queue. You know what that means....

Over on twitter Murdy did give a reason why a lot of scarezones has/had a "Z" in them, and it wasn't just because he liked seeing people complain about that. The main reason is due to copyrights/trademarks on particular names, and adding a "Z" to a name makes it availible to use because there's no copyright under it.

To add to Freak's 7th house theory. Didn't he said he's been pushing for whatever it is for three years? Three years ago was the first time we had 6 mazes. Although I'm still slightly doubtful about an additional maze, it seems somewhat likely

He did say that his goal was to make the event around the same size as the Orlando event. I'm sure he has been wanting to have seven mazes for three years; however, the key word is property. He says that the secret project involves a property that he has been chasing for three years. I remember distinctly how Murdy has been wanting to do a Trick r Treat maze since 2011. Maybe Trick r Treat is the secret project. Remember that the project does involve 76 pages of treatment.

Eh....I doubt that. I think he would consider that as more of an "extra" if that were to happen. "Super Secret Project" would have to be something major like an additional seventh house. If I remember correctly, he used the same sort of wording to cover up the sixth maze in 2011.
