HHN Hollywood 2014 Speculation

Recommended Posts

I'd be really mad if Orlando got TrT this year and we didn't. Even if we did end up getting it next year. It'd just be unforgivable.

and Vise Versa. But I don't think you have to worry about it. I'm fairly sure (70%?) That Orlando isn't getting Trick R Treat. There are still a few factors that could sway and change my mind on that but right now I don't expect it at all unfortunately.

Interesting note. A fan told Murdy "I can see how some properties would want to pay Universal to see fresh life breathed into old themes. Free advertising"

Murdy said "

you'd think that would be true of old properties but it's really not... Especially when you're dealing with big studios"

Remember that deal Universal and Legendary have?

Dunno how horror related it will be though. So far it's being marketed as a thriller but the purge was being called a thriller for a while before it came out. The trailer debuts tomorrow so I guess we'll see then

^Doubt it. If anything, that"Legendary" deal increases its chances for Trick r Treat this year.

Brover, a very reputable source from InsideUniversal, thinks that this will be the last year for the Terror Tram due to the 747 sets being demo'ed for new sound stages. I think I might get my picture in front of the Psycho house this year.

True, but I think since it's made an distributed by both companies, it could possibly make some sort of appearance in the event. From the trailer, it could make a pretty good HOH overlay

Huh. I never thought about that. That could make a pretty solid House of Horrors overlay. I think for now Untold still seems more likely. Besides, it would just be an odd title for a maze.

What this guy said. After the success of the experience last year, I think they're willing to invest more into the event and expand it...a lot.

I failed to mention this last year, but I took a survey while on the backlot that asked about my experience. They asked me how it was and whether or not I would like to see more mazes on the backlot.

I think we'll see more than just extra streets on the backlot...and Great Scott, another maze would not surprise me with all of that extra space!

I mean like.... a super extended one. Haha.

I think the only extension we'll get this year is more vendors and one extra street.

I'm talking... streets and streets and streets, and theeeeen the mazes.

We'll probably see bits of New York Street used this year as an entryway and apart of the area itself. Last year was pretty much a Train wreck in trying to control crowds. I'm wondering since this is pretty much the last year of using the 747 Crash Site before its demolition, if we will see more extensive theming this year in Terror Tram.

Mockup of where these new locations could be:

Hello I am back from my hiatus (pun intended). Since we are getting into deep speculation where code names are being announced I'll throw my 2 cents in. Well we know music themes won't be used this year so this must mean UMR is finally going to go away. AWiL is a good possibility considering how Murdy loves that property and it was a massive success in Orlando. A seventh maze won't happen until after Potter comes in 2016 (unless they get rid of TT). EXPERIENCES of last year won't happen so this may hint that a property of a previous year may return *cough*Halloween*cough* and/or a different layout of a maze from last year *cough*Insidious*cough*. This isn't going to be Murdy's last year he'l probably save it for 10 year anniversary.

The backlot area will be expanded and used for a new property since the official WD twitter said they aren't doing HHN this year.

My expected lineup:

AWiL

Halloween

Insidious

Original Concept

Trick r Treat

HoH (not UMR)

TT: The Purge

Great improvement compared to last year.

This is literary screaming out HoH plus have you seen some of the videos when you search "Paris Catacombs" great environments to fit in the HoH.

WAIT, WHAT?! Huge news. That literally means 100% different in maze themes compared to last year.

However, this still leaves room for speculation on Michael Myers, Jason, Freddy, Jigsaw, and Chucky to return.

The only one of those that's a big possibility is HALLOWEEN, but still... I don't think we've seen the last of Jason or Freddster... maybe not this year, but soon! Jigsaw is probably patiently waiting for some crappy reboot or sequel. Chucky can pop out any time.

Yes that was Skybound's account, not AMC. Given they have no interaction with AMC affairs I wouldn't see that as official indication that TWD is completely gone from Hollywood's event.

They would have some idea though. HHN probably contacts AMC and then AMC inevitably has to contact Skybound since some of the producers are some of the creators of the book. Their approval would be needed.

I'm pretty sure this means the end of the Walking Dead era. Honestly, I thought it was going to go on for longer, but it was fun while it lasted.

^Im honestly surprised and thrilled that Walking Dead's chances are slim, at least as a house. I really want HHN to do all-new stuff. Honestly, had Knotts stayed as they were pre-40th, I think HHN would've brought it back with UMR and maybe even Insidious.
