HHN Hollywood 2014 Speculation

Recommended Posts

I really dug Vampyre (my fav overlay) but from the looks of it, HOH has been equipped with an IP. Its much easier to come up with something original instead of trying to make things fit for a property. I think that's partly why UMR was successful to most people, because the theme was "random ass shit." And Vampyre was successful because no matter the environment, it had a different story for why it was like that (Chucky room being a nursery). The next hope is if the IP suits those environments. The only thing I can imagine doing that is Cabin in the Woods, but I would feel seriously robbed if it didn't get its own locale. To see those monsters in the HOH would be cool, but in their own maze would be better. Next would be the Purge. Purgers vs. Monsters. The announcement and sirens going off while havoc is all around. Murder and mayhem when the real world and fantasy collide. Actually, I'm kinda digging this idea.... not to mention, we'd get a potential Strangers vs. Purgers stand off :-P

Classic Monsters can pass as an Intellectual Property. The house in Orlando was essentially what HoH does but with an overall

lighting effect that made the whole attraction look black and white.

We can always work our way back to KISS speculation if this thread comes to a screeching halt.....

Hardy Har Har!

Or I could give Triple T a call :)

As for the House of Horrors speculation, I really don't know what else they could put in there that would be IP-based. I've got three guesses as to what it could be....

Bram Stoker's Dracula. This is the only older IP I could see fit in there. It'd be really random though.

House of Horrors 2.0. This seems more likely as they could use lighting techniques. I would personally love the idea of a blackout/all-stobe maze. THAT would be cool to see for HoH.

Dracula: Untold. This seems like the most likely to me. I recall Murdy screening two 2014 movies. The Purge being one of them and this might be the other one. I think Dracula: Untold is the most-likely candidate for the overlay.

Or we can talk about how satisfying AND disappointing the KISS induction at the Rock Hall of Fame was... LOL

But seriously, the lighting based idea for House of Horrors would be quite intriguing and thrilling...

I have a guess for teen spirit

A poker term used to describe an aggressive play is a "fast" or playing fast, which lead me To Fast times at Richmont High .

The actor who played Mr. Vargas in FTRH was Vincent Schiavelli who shares his name with Vincent D'Onofrio who played The Axeman in AHS Coven. One of Vincent Schiavelli credits is a film called American Pop.

I know...predictable, but it's the only property I've gotten with this code name so far.

That was Danny Huston in Coven =]

This reply is regarding Freak and Ferox's Dracula-related post. I think Bram Stoker's Dracula would give the classic HOH vibe a big step up in theming and atmosphere. Scareactors dressed as different forms of Dracula (Red Wolf Armor, Bat, Wolf, Victorian), Lucy Vamp Bride, Dracula's Brides (yum), Renfield. The inside of the attraction could have some areas with the "antiquated-style" of projection to resemble scenes from the movie, and include a soundtrack depicting the journal narrative that was featured in both book and movie. And of course, impaled victims.

For some reason I can't reply to posts on my desktop since the site was last updated.

Eh, it's a simple effect. Or it could be done in the Frankenlab.

But then again HOH Untold or whatever it would be called would run into the same issue of "hey y'all just pretend this doesn't make no sense" since the sets are very distinct. Doing untold would just be a slightly different version of that other vampire HOH.

Murdy knows that the classic monsters aren't scary. He's said this. Adding dubstep to the maze twice was successful. The next overlay is likely to be something fun or campy.

It has two strong S sounds. Damn these bombshells Murdy dropped gave some life to spec. Now let's just hope TTT happened to be right about TRT or Exorcist.

Just imagine if our speculation was correct. Imagine this line-up...

-Dracula: Untold

-The Exorcist

-Trick r Treat

-American Werewolf in London

-The Purge

-Original house

-Poltergeist

-Walking Dead Terror Tram

This line-up would have me running to the front gates, forgetting about my disappointment from last year.

Seems like a good likely lineup but only problem is that's 7 Mazes. I agree with your lineup but I'd say it's either Poltergeist our TrT not both.

Wait, what's TTT? Haha

And is the TRT spec good enough to put it on a potential line up? I thought that was another "maybe next year property."

It's speculated that it will come to Orlando. Murdy is really good friends with Michael Dougherty, so if it did show up on in Orlando I doubt if Murdy would pass it up for next year. TrT 2 is going to be an Origin story for Sam so that can work as its own maze for next year.
